So we were convinced to come here after a Bear Mountain hike after reading the Unilocal reviews, some really passionate people here. I’ll tell some of my own truth here tho: yes, small quesadilla and fried banana tortilla desert were cool and the service was great. Main (major) issues were that they got my combo order wrong, limes had absolutely no juice to zest with, they didn’t have corn tortillas and the food itself was just average. A bit on the expensive side for mediocre food.

Cannot believe the other reviews I’m seeing here. The food was just ok nothing special. The abundant chips were not even warm when brought to the table. The service was slow, the waiters did not know the menu (we were informed that all meals from a certain area included rice & beans yet that is not the case) and drawn out even when it was not crowded. And to make matters worse, we went on a Friday night and had to go through the unbearable pain of hearing some woefully pathetic guitar player

The food was good. I ordered the steak fajita and it was good, I just wish that it was grilled instead of stewed. I received a cheese quesadilla as appetizer on the house. I also received a dessert which was some type of tortilla with a banana wrapped up in in with honey drizzled over it with vanilla ice cream also on the house. I also had two margaritas, not bad. The service was fast I was lunch time and there wasn’t too many customers. I will come back again.

This is hands down the best Mexican restaurant in New York. I live in Manhattan and my girlfriend and I come up here for their excellent food. It’s a low-​key place, but a hidden gem. They give you free quesadillas, full entrees and free dessert. I’m telling you… I have lived in every borough (except Staten Island) and I have to say this place is worth leaving the city for. Five stars, hands down.

The salsa that came with the chips was bright and fresh and the complementary cheese quesadilla served prior to the entrée was warm and comforting. My Mole Enchiladas Poblano plate was what I had hoped for with that dark, chocolaty sauce with flavorful refried beans and rice. Don’t let the location or shared space stop you from checking it out. Reminds me of what I used to get back in Austin. I found out about the place from a direct mail ad, so that and the coupon worked to get me in.

Great food, great staff, a hidden gem. His neighborhood restaurant has the best Mexican food in the area, by far. The staff is great, very attentive and usually good for a free cordial after your meal.
Recommended: The blackened shell steak, fajitas (any meat), guacamole, and the quesadillas.

What a disappointment. Heard such great things about this place. The Mexican food is mediocre at best.
I was so looking forward to having a meal at this place. But their food is one step above Taco Bell. Save your money and go to Chipotle.

Came here for an early dinner with my family. The is authentic fresh and plentiful! We had the chicken fajitas, chicken soup, blackened steak, steak enchiladas, shrimp with green sauce (a little spicy), and tamales. Everything came out hot and perfect. Great service and great food for a local mexican joint! Well done

The service here is excellent! There aren’t many places that still offer complementary appetizers or desserts, and I’ve been treated to both at this lovely little establishment. The place really deserves more recognition! The food is delicious and generously portioned: I always get one of their combos and have never been disappointed. I honestly prefer this place to other mexican restaurants in the area– come here instead of Fiesta Mexico!

The Mexican food is hit and miss. The flautas are wonderful. Anything with a red sauce on it (like enchiladas) is a little strange. The red sauce tastes like they took the marinara from the Italian menu and threw in some cumin. Very odd flavor. Not the best, but certainly not the worst Mexican food I’ve had. Wish I could say the same about the pizza. Easily the worst pizza I’ve had in a long time. Bland crust, bland sauce and that fake, slimy texture cheese. My 22 yo son who will usually eat anything only had one slice and then moved on to the garlic knots which were good.
The Mexican menu gets 3 ½−4 stars, the pizza gets one star. I’d give them an overall 3 ½ star rating. They do deliver, which is handy.

So my sister and I ordered the regular «family feast» for delivery…
The pizza was amazing! So perfect! The delivery was fast and the guy followed my instructions to the T.
Overall, this is a great place and price for pizza and I cannot wait to try the rest of their menu!

The Mexican food here isn’t exactly «authentic» but it is still decent and price/​portion ration is pretty good too. The drinks are very yummy, had a very nice margarita. It wasn’t fresh made but it wasn’t overly sweet either.
They start you off with delicious chips and pico de gallo and then, before your entrée they serve a lovely little quesadilla as a starter. As I said, portions are generous so the extra little appetizers aren’t necessary but a very nice welcoming touch
The kicker that gives this four stars over three was the little churro with a scoop of vanilla ice cream they served us once our meal was over. It was delightful and just the right amount of sweetness to end the meal. I will order a real dessert next time I go though, just to be able to see what they are like.
Service was very warm and friendly, made me feel very welcome and in my opinion, makes food that is just average sooo much better. So, go for the friendly atmosphere and a yummy margarita, very worth it.
