The worst of everything is what Papa Joey’s has to offer.

This is by far the worst customer service ever. Great food but needs to work on customer service. One waitress for 40 ppl in the restaurant. Our group of 15 didn’t get our meals till 2 hours after arrival. The waitress was working hard to get everybody but missing meals and drinks. The customers are haveing to get their own drinks! I will go back if the new owners fix this customer service problem and hire more ppl.

Bloomin’ with flavor from crust, sauce and cheese to ingredients that set the bar. Can’t wait for next trip.

I am so thankful for this place! Bottom Line Up Front: Accommodated 25 people with no notice and food was delicious! Highly recommend this place for a rehearsal dinner if you have a wedding in Dripping Springs or Blanco! Longer version: First off, I called and asked if this place would be willing to allow me to use their space to have my actual rehearsal(instead of spending $ 180 for a tiny hotel conference room or $ 250 at my wedding venue) and they said yes. I reserved the space but didn’t know how many people would be showing up so I didn’t order any food. I arrived to the restaurant 2 hours before the rehearsal dinner started. The room in the back was secluded from the rest of the restaurant and was the perfect size for my group and rehearsal as they had assured me. I ordered appetizers for my bridesmaids and then ordered dinner for 25 people. The owner said that they usually need notice before feeding a party that big because it requires catering servewear that they normally do not store at the restaurant. But she said presently they had the items they needed and could make it work. She was incredibly nice about it and the whole night was an smashing success. The service was great, the menu and food was great, and I can’t thank them enough for making it so perfect with such little notice. Lastly, I personally wanted a more upscale restaurant to host my rehearsal dinner and was a little disappointed when my options were so limited in the area. I had resigned myself to thinking that Papa Joey’s would be this very casual small-town pizzeria with only pizza and breadsticks on the menu. I think I got the impression from the laid-back looking website and the assumption of what a low-priced pizzeria in a small country town would look like. But I was completely surprised and impressed when I got there. It was much classier than the website lets on(although you wouldn’t feel out of place going there in jeans and a T-shirt) but they had wine glasses for us to imbibe in the local wine we brought(no bottle fee I believe) and there was an unexpected list of appetizers that were all delicious. They even had gluten free pasta and pizza crusts for my gluten-sensitive parents! Again, I can’t thank the owner and staff enough for making the night so wonderful!!!

My husband thought their pizza was really good, but other then that it sucked. My pasta was over cooked and we had to wait forever for food even though it was no one there. And we had to call on the waitress to get her attention.

One of our favorite spots in Blanco. Nothing fancy here, but the food is good and the waitstaff is attentive. Nothing fancy here, but you do get a nice view of the park through the dirty, cracked picture window. The pizza is great but my favorite is any of the baked pastas.

Great salad, house made bread and very accommodating. Pasta with marinara and mushrooms created a vegan dinner. Very nice people!

Oh no, no no. The food here was terrible. I ordered the Cheese Ravioli with meat sauce. The meat sauce was so gritty and bland that I couldn’t even eat it. My ravioli was over cooked and soggy. Sorry about the bad review, but I felt like others should know. My fiancé ordered Chicken Parmesan, he said it tasted like it had been fried along with everything else they fry there, i.e. old grease. My fiancé also said that his spaghetti was way over cooked, to where it just tasted like water. This place reminded me of school lunch cafeteria food.

We were staying in a B&B about 20 miles away. This restaurant was recommended to us by a local. Easy to find(on the central square). Big dining room in the back with nice lawn views. Don’t be fooled by the few small tables in the front. We were there on a Saturday evening. Service was great(two waiters fussing over us). And, oh the food. Real Italian red marinara, not the stuff from the can. Owner told us(originally from Pennsylvania) that he makes the marinara sauce from scratch every day; you can taste the authenticity. I grew up with Italian Americans and this marinara is the same as what every Italian American family made every Sunday for Sunday dinner. Portions were generous. Prices were reasonable and made for a great value. Plus, they had spumoni for dessert. It was the best spumoni I’ve ever had bar none. We will always visit this restaurant anytime we get within 30 miles!

Fabulous vegetarian pizza and vegetable lasagna! We really enjoy the food and have been back several times for take-out. Highly recommend Papa Joey’s Pizzeria! The restaurant is small and intimate, too.

What a delightful surprise this place was! We were skeptical but based on other Unilocalers ended up going in. Their pizza is very good with a lot of flavor and their homemade Italian breads are out of this world. The only thing that left much to be desired was the wine. We both ordered glasses of the Shiraz and it was hands down the worst wine I’ve ever had. They get a pass on the wine because the rest was so good.

Stopped for lunch… ordered pizzas and boy do these guys know how to make a good New York style pizza. The homemade crust is excellent, thin and crispy, the sauce is wonderful… in fact we wanted to buy some to use as a marinara sauce. The toppings are fresh and the cheese is just the right amount and very flavorful. Folks next to us had lasagna and said it was delicious. It sure looked good. The owner, Steve, waited on us and the service was great! We’ll be back anytime we are in Blanco.

Must upgrade to a 5. I just love it here. We’ve been driving home from vacation all day and this is the last special place we’ll visit before we get home. Worth the stop. Worth the drive. Always yummy, delightful and relaxing

Papa Joey’s is located just off the square in downtown Blanco. They have good pizza with a decent selection of toppings. They have a simple consistent menu of hearty traditional Italian American offerings. I usually have the chicken parm or the meatball sub when I go. The service is always friendly and the atmosphere is comfortable.
