Would have given more stars but for a few reasons. This was an interesting experience. We walked in and stood there awhile but no one said anything to us. We sought out if we were to seat ourselves or be seated by someone. Granted, this is a very«country» and informal place but my husband and I had never been there. We went for Christmas lunch. We heard the food was good. We went with my husband’s folks. Anyway… It took awhile to get our order taken due to there only being 1 server. Gotcha. They were busy at 11AM. We didn’t get menus at first and the waitress asked us what we wanted. Hmmmmm… How was I supposed to know? LOL We got 2 menus even tho there were 4 of us. Fine. We can share, right? The turkey and ham and dressing, etc was not on the menu so we inquired about it. The waitress was hilarious as she awkwardly told us what else they had available for the Christmas meal. Her description of the green beans was the best. She said she THOUGHT they were green beans but wasn’t sure. She referred to them as «some kind of crap,» «square green things,» and«fugly.» Hmmmmm… Sounds like a winner! LOL Onto the food… The mashed potatoes and gravy was good, the sweet potatoes… good… The dressing… good(had meat in it)… My mother-in-law had to beg for cranberry sauce a few times as the person who made it earlier didn’t make it correctly and it didn’t set up well. She got some anyway, albeit runny. The rolls were good. My husband likes the fugly green beans and ham. The turkey was good but I… I got a HUGE slab of fatty, gross SKIN(hardly any meat… Which was a bummer)… No meat even attached to this slab. That was the most disappointing part of the whole experience. See picture of said fatty skin slab. It was huge! The waitress left the ticket with our plates that she had just dropped off, refilled our teas and drinks promptly. She was friendly… just very different than your average waitress. LOL Would I go back? No. I hear their steaks are good but I’d be worried it would be all fat.

Big steaks & really busy… awesome food If you are looking for fancy, it’s NOT for you. The atmosphere is what you’d drive 20 miles for, it’s so homey… Again, it’s AWESOME, AWESOME, AWESOME. Prices are great too.

This was amazing. A steakhouse in the middle of a general store. This was by far my favorite place to eat in the area. An amazing steak, potato, salad and bread. Started with a huge $ 2.99 shrimp cocktail that I couldn’t finish. Additionally, there was a cheese and cracker plate that they bring to nosh on.

Ate here for the 1st time on April 13. Just a little convenience store with about 10 tables and a kitchen. Meant to get there earlier but didn’t arrive til 8:30ish. Kinda glad it worked out that way because it was cleared out and me and the lovely I was fortunate to have accompanying me were the only ones eating. Due to that service was outstanding. They close the kitchen at 9 so we just squeaked in under the deadline and I’m glad we made it!!! The steak was HUGE and delicious! I have known about this place for years but just never got up there til now. Sad I didn’t make the effort sooner after this experience. One cool thing about eating there was when you ordered a beer the waitress just walked into the store and took one from the beer cooler. If you’re in the Shreveport-Bossier area and looking for a good eat off the beaten path plug the address in the GPS and go a little country and put a little gravel in your travel. I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised.
