I rented a cabin at Vogel for a weekend and we all loved it. The cabins are not new, but they are a great retreat in the woods. I got really luck when i rented the cabin that gave us a great view overlooking the lake through the trees. Thankfully, Thomas B. was a great reviewer to tell me what amenities the cabin provided because the web site doesn’t fully describe it. I did the Bear Hair Gap trail with a Scout group and did it again the following day so that I could take some better pictures after seeing how beautiful it was the first time. Vogel shares a border with the National Forest and is near the Appalachian Trail, so you have miles of hiking available if you chose to hike out of Vogel and into the forest. I will return.
