I come to Blairstown maybe 4 times a year when our group has practices in town. Every single time, the older gentleman who seemingly runs the store is extremely rude as if he is not looking for business. When our group comes into town, we bring ATLEAST20 customers a meal(lunch or dinner). Here is the reason why none of us will return: Today we were let out of rehearsal early for lunch, having to report back in an hour for the remaining portion of rehearsal. I was first in line with 3 others when I ordered a pepperoni pizza for us. After witnessing around 15 patrons not order but RECEIVE their food before us, the man at the desk asks if we ordered. When I tell him we ordered the pizza before everyone, he THEN states it will only take 5 minutes and he’ll start now. 30 minutes into my break is when he decides to make the pie and we were FIRST! So I ask him, «Sir, we were first, how come you are just making our pizza now?» He responds, «I had some people to take care of first…» Meanwhile we are standing there while every person who came after is is seated eating their food. He then rudely asks, «Do you want the pizza or not??» Needless to say, we walked out and will never return. I hear it’s the best pizza in the area, but if it means dealing with an arrogant prick like the owner, it definitely is not worth going.

Admitting firstly to hometown bias but after traveling the world my wife and I still think that John’s pizza tops them all. His salty cheese, one of a kind shaved Italian sausage topping, sweet sauce, chewy crust and underbelly, topped off with just the right amount of grease poring out the bottom when you eat it ALWAYS keeps us coming back for a pie every time we come home. Im sure that the owners deep italian roots dont hurt his quality either. Do yourself a favor, take it from a bunch of Jersey pizza snobs and grab a slice of cheese pie heaven.

Good NY style pizza in the country. Friendly staff and good service. They make the best meatball sandwich in the area.

I’m from NY, but my boyfriend lives in Blairstown. Imagine my surprise upon discovering awesome pizza in such a tiny, sparce, middle-of-nowhere, country town. I admit I was totally blown away. I’ve yet to try any of the appetizers or hot sammiches, but when we’re craving a slice, there is no question as to where we’re heading. I hate to admit it, but he has better pizza than I do in Murray Hill. But then, I have Mexican, Indian, and Thai food… and edible Chinese, so it evens out.
