A real butcher, people that you can ask your dumb questions too without hesitation. In March go no other place for St. Patrick’s Day Corned beef, it is beyond great.

Absolutley love this place. Items are good quality. Love that I can go there and they understand German since I do not know what some of the items are called in English, Can get European magazines for my mom and dad and the old fashion breads that we cant get anywhere else!

This place is a fantastic small town butcher shop. Their meats are so good. Every time I am in the area I make sure to stop in and grab a load of items to bring home. They will also take almost any animal you have and cut it up for a fee so you don’t have to do it. There’s also a selection of German candy, but who wants that? Give me the meat!

10⁄5 stars! As a local boy growing up my german family came to make this landmark a fixture in our lives. Even throughout my years in Germany, Austria, etc. I have yet to have a pair of landjaegers(dried, smoked sausage) as wonderful as theirs. They butcher their own meat and will process yours(deer). This shop is the real deal… From the selection of premium wursts, skinless wieners, to their dry good selection, Alpine is our xmas, new years, bday and bbq destination! I dare you to find a better quality place that tastes better! The smell alone when you first walk into the place is worth the trip. Be prepared to wait on weekends though. Ausgezeichnet!

Stopped by this past Saturday. My guy brought a couple of items to try. I know it’s a Deli, but I was surprised not enough baked goods or other homemade items. Service was good, girls were friendly.

This deli reminds me of my grandma’s house, a German butcher atmosphere and all the amenities of a European store. The prices are excelent, some of the food is even made right in store! They process hunted meats(though I found it funny when they said they won’t take your meat if their’s s**t on it). I am there for the subs @ $ 3 each, a 6″ sub is packed with meats and there is always a crowd. I have also had their burgers and their are excellent quality. The European candies are delightful as well. Whenever I am in the area I visit and enjoy the food and atmosphere!

Listen if you‘re looking for a Butcher in New Jersey to process your venison, you will not find a better butcher than Alpine Meats and Deli in Blairstown. I ‘ve been bringing my deer to these folks for several years & believe me it‘s more than worth it. I always have the venison made into Deer Dogs(hot dogs), bologna, jerky & obviously the regular cuts… The deli is incredible! They have all of these different kinds of German made sausages, wursts & cold cuts that you won‘t find in your deli down the street! Listen I‘m not sure what William F(review above) is pissin‘ & moanin‘ about, but hey every business has some guidelines & rules… so big deal… they want you to bring the deer to them without ANY hair on it at all… that‘s definitely not asking too much in my book. You shouldn‘t just assume that ALL butchers will just«clean it anyway»…that‘s not always true. I‘d rather take my deer to Alpine & pay a little extra for their excellent care & service. Maybe people like William F only like to post a review to complain or to see their name on the Internet… lol… My advice to people like him… Google«How to butcher my own deer 101»… then cut it up in your garage & see how clean your venison turns out! lol… *Alpine Meats & Deli A+++++ *Highly Recommend!

I went to Alpine the other day to drop of my deer for processing. I told the person that I quartered the deer myself and only needed it butchered into the steaks I want. The woman said no problem and to bring it to her. I dropped it off and a week later I got the call to come pick it up. The price came to a total 150 dollars. I was expecting around 120 so the price wasn’t bad. My main concern was when I read the receipt, the owner wrote comments on it. «Deer had fur on it, butchered in wrong places and will not accept deer in this condition again». Now I am a paying customer and was new to quartering. I am not a professional by any means. I did not appreciate the man criticizing me while I was paying him. When you hand over a deer to the butcher as a whole animal, the person much wash the meat anyway, so to complain the meat was dirty is no excuse. It had to be cleaned no matter what condition it came in. And to criticize me for how I quartered the meat upset me. Again, I am not a professional and gave him what I had. I saved most of the meat from what I did myself. To make a long story short, if you want to go to this butcher, you will get quality meat but bring the whole deer. It is not worth being criticized when you try to do something yourself. They also charge around 10 dollars a day holding fee after the 5th day holding the meat. This is not to bad of a policy since they do have many other people to serve. Again, go there if you want but bring the whole deer. Make them do the work that you are paying them for.
