The department of health needs to shut this place down. FILTHY!!! Serve cold food that should be kept hot from serving bins. We threw out our food after one bite and didn’t even bother to ask for a refund.

Oh. My. My boyfriend frequently find ourselves getting food from places located in this shopping area. One night we decided to try the Rice Bowl. Pulling up, I said«This looks like the kind of place you get food poisoning from.» When we got inside, I began to worry I was right. The food on the line was all dried up and I didn’t even know what half of it was. I wanted rice noodles, but those were too dry for the employee to even feel comfortable putting on my plate. I reluctantly continued placing my order for the unappealing food they displayed. At this point, I didn’t even want to eat it. Half the lights were off in the restaurant and the glass had a tint of green that made me feel like I was in one of those nasty places that are exaggerated on television. We went at 8:15, so I understand that it was on the later side, but they are open until 9 o’clock. Maybe the food is better for the lunch period, but I will not be back ever. Staying open until 9:00 probably loses them more customers than it gains. After getting home to eat the food, it wasn’t much better than it looked. The dumplings were rock solid and the beef in the beef and mushrooms could only be described as similar to a crunchy beef jerkey. Not a fan. Also, pictures of the menu listed online are not accurate.

The food was disgusting. Spongy chicken with no flavor and service was terrible. After I ordered my food I immediately regretted it. I saw the nasty kitchen, garbage on the cook surfaces, and messy soda area. After I received my meal the lady immediately went and sat down at a table with her kids and started eating her food and playing on an iPad. I wondered if she had washed her hands before helping me and if this was in fact a daycare. Took two bites of my food and walked out the door to go to leann Chinn

Well, I was really feeling like chinese food for lunch on a saturday. So, the closest place that wasn’t Mei Wei, was rice bowl. Lets just say that was a mistake. I would have been better off going to leeann chin. The General Tso’s was nothing like anything I have had elsewhere, soggy, bland no spice whatsoever. The fried rice also had no flavor and was a completely congealed mass.(not sticky, but slimy and clumpy) Will not try again.

Terrible! I am usually pretty forgiving when it comes to crappy Chinese places, but this was beyond bad. General Tsao chicken was bland, soggy and drowning in sauce. The egg roll was greasy. The fried rice was actually pretty tasty, but had some weird prices of chicken in it and was mostly mixed in with the crappy General Tsao. We will not order again. Someone needs to hurry up and open a decent place because we’ve tried all in the area and none are very good.

Clean restaurant. The food was cold and tasteless. It was 12:30pm on a Thursday. Not going back.

Personally I find this place to be great and I come here often. Is it a high end sit-down Chinese restaurant? No, not quite, but it’s certainly above the likes of Leann Chin’s or Panda Express or various food court Chinese places another reviewer compared it to. The food is great and the options are fantastic. You can either order from what they have up or from the full menu and they will make it to order. There is great variety and the food is very well made. The owners are also very nice and helpful as well. I have been here many times and have never been disappointed by the food. Heck, the smoothies are fantastic as well; I recommend the watermelon smoothy for sure. The place seems kept up well, has good hours, takes call in orders, and has great variety. It’s not going to compete against expensive gourmet places, but it serves as a far better option than a lot of the cheap walk-in places around.

I am giving this place a higher rating because of a few simple things: value, convenience & the owner’s 3 amazingly patient and well-behaved children! Coming off a nasty virus that robbed my appetite for several days, I had a strong hankering for bland Chinese-style food. I was thinking something like LeeAnn Chin’s, the fast food joint of Chinese-style food. My kids and I had never been to Rice Bowl but were very pleasantly surprised when we entered. We each got the noodle, rice, or vegetable plus two entrees option for $ 7.50. We all were satisfied. Our total came to less than $ 21 because one of my kids selected only one entrée and I opted for vegetables and meat, which was even less expensive. The onions and peppers were crisp and the corn and broccoli still had snap which was an extremely welcome surprise and better than any LeeAnn Chin’s that I’ve had. The meats were tender and flavorful and the sauces were mild but smooth, not overpowering or lumpy. We will definitely return the next time we’d like a quick, inexpensive meal. Almost forgot to mention– the owner’s three children were present but quietly engrossed in a video– no whining, fighting, crying or begging! If I want something freshly prepared with more authentic Chinese(whether Szechuan or Cantonese) flavor and presentation, I will go elsewhere. When I am seeking quick, convenient, affordable and mild-but-flavorful Chinese-style selections, I’ll head here.

If I want Chinese in Blaine area then 5 Spice is a significantly better choice in terms of flavor, and quality of food. This place is basically a mall food court Chinese food. We had orange chicken, teriyaki chicken, & my wife had some sort of white creamy sauce shrimp. Orange chicken was too sweet swimming in sauce, chicken seemed not great quality meat. We had fried rice-probably the best thing out of all and yet it was nothing special & bit oily. We wanted to try something new and my son suggested it so we gave it a shot. But we won’t be going back. PS-couple of small things but goes to show the thought process – the garbage can opening doesn’t fit their styrofoam plates! One has to crush/fold plates to get them in.

This place is disgusting. The 2 people serving my husband and I gave us each complete opposite orders. They didn’t really give us an option before they started throwing random food into our to go containers. The food was gross, processed, most likely frozen at one point minus the veggies. Zero flavor and the potstickers and spring rolls were all cold. This place won’t be there much longer. It should be in a food court at a mall with all the other crappy Chinese places!
