Great server Richard young man handled things very well and was very energetic… that’s the highlight of the night… we wanted the ribs full slab but the kitchen never informed the staff so we had to change our order unexpectedly. …we selected Asian nachos great flavor and the $ 45 alleged restaurant signature entrée cowboy steak bone in ordered medium… what we got was Richard having his hands, tied because I asked for extra peanut sauce for the appetizer which was $.50 for an ounce. really $.50…then came the very very rare cowboy steak with extra mushrooms for an additional dollar… aykm… the bill was a total of $ 86 with alcohol and the«owner doesn’t allow extras» …seriously after not having the acclaimed ribs at 630pm in the middle of early dinner? We were unable to acquire $ 1.50 of «extras» because the back of the house failed the front of the house? And the very very rare steak the managers name can’t recall said he’d happily throw it back on the grill for us… you mean after we’ve eaten from it back on the grill then? Aykm? I’m pretty sure that violates a few health code violations… Bottom line… nice décor, better service, horrible customer service and ridiculous management to make a guest happy… that’s what’s supposed to happen… I’ll come back to bismark but never peacock again…

Had a burger it was OK. Asked for a little mayo and they charged me extra… The mayo had something it like a piece of chicken or fish and I said something, but they still charged me. I wasn’t going to argue over the small charge, but will never go back. Horrible customer service by bartender.

Seemed like a pretty nice place. Stopped in for a pick-up order. The bad part is it took about 30 minutes for a take out for two avocado burgers and on top of that the order was a little messed up. With the said it probably would have been a two star with the exception that the bartender was very cool about it. I received a comp for the issues and the food was excellent. These burgers are not your usual frozen circles slapped on the grill but a real beef steak burgers with a very awesome compliment of toppings that work well with everything. I would definitely stop in again to eat when in downtown Bismarck.

My wife and another couple dined here last nite and had to wait quite a while for our waiter to greet us and take our drink orders. The app I ordered were the egg rolls which took half an hour to be brought out. Our entrees took a little over an hour to be delivered to our table. Food was good but the service was very poor. No compensation was offered. We will go elsewhere in the future. Too many other good eating places to spend my $ 150.

I thought of eating here, so I went inside to have a peek at the menu. There was a fair sized crowd, with a handful of waitresses running around. I waited at the hostess stand for a couple of minutes, with no help. Employees were walking all around, but nobody stopped so I could get a menu. I looked around for a menu, without any luck. After another minute or so, I just walked out. I ate at a great Mexican place across the street, that’s located in a 100 year old train station… pretty cool. The service and food were very good.

I have never been all that impressed with Peacock. Beautiful historic building downtown, busy without being hectic, but subpar food that can get a bit pricey for what it is. With that being said, this is definitely a happy hour joint for me, if I do go at all, for the martini list and the appetizers. Appetizers are smaller portions, but the happy hour specials makes it worth it. They DID have a special prix fixe for Valentine’s Day that seemed to showcase their cooking abilities a lot more(higher quality ingredients, greater attention to detail, more ambitious foods); for that reason, I get the Peacock Alley newsletter to keep up on any specials. As a final FYI, it is worth mentioning without further comment that during legislative session this place can turn in to a «who’s who» of ND politics.

Stop in from out of town. Absolutely horrible service and when brought up to management he became agitated and started to yell and we were told to go back to our own town. This place is not customer friendly. Stay away!

The steaks are good, but definitely not as good as their pretentious ads make them sound. I have honestly never been impressed with anything I have had here and every time someone tells me we should go I suggest other places in hopes they reconsider. Everything you could get here you can get better somewhere else in less than a two minute walk. Steak at Broadway, sandwiches at Lucky Ducks, burger or beer at JL Beers, Martini at The Frog, etc.

Great food, atmosphere and service. Clearly a historical icon that provides a lovely gathering place today. They make an effort to showcase local food. The menu is a perfect size with just enough choices to satisfy everyone but not be overwhelming. The burgers are hand ground sirloin and buns made fresh. The hanger steak and three cheese hash browns were excellent. And they have adult milkshakes. Our server, Richard, was such a gracious host. A true professional! We will be back!

While in Bismarck visiting one weekend, I decided I wanted to treat my husband to dinner. When we go to new restaurants, we usually ask what is the most ordered or recommended dish. We were informed that the hanger steak was one of the best on the menu so my husband ordered that with a loaded baked potato and I ordered salmon. We started with the Bavarian pretzels as our appetizer and my husband ordered a large blue moon. The pretzels were alright. My husband was not pleased with his hanger steak as he is pretty picky about his meat haha. I was fine with the salmon I ordered as salmon is just salmon to me. The main thing my husband thoughly enjoyed was his beer, oh and baked potato.

I had steak and cheese curds. I have nothing but amazing things to say about everything I ate. I actually ordered take out, but the location looked nice and the staff was lovely.

The first two times I came here I wouldn’t have recommended it or given it a positive review. I really wanted to like it though, so I gave it a few more tries. I’m glad I did. For the most part, the service is decent. On Tuesdays, martinis are buy one get one free, which is great. Their happy hour foods and bar menu is really good. I feel like their regular menu though is horribly overpriced. There is one bartender that really needs some help… she pours the shortest shots ever. When you’re ordering premium liquor and paying a lot for it, you really want the full amount you’re paying for, right? Go for happy hour, and try it out.

I’m back in town for business and wanted to do this again. The hanger steak was excellent last time. My waiter, Nedad, suggested another great dish. More in a minute on that. The rolls and whatever kind of sweet butter they use for dipping is tasty. But bread is a filler and I’m here for the beef. With that said, I had to order the Bacon Fritters. I’d love to try those for breakfast some time. Went with the Teres Major. Unique. The quality of the medallion cuts was outstanding and it was cooked perfectly. It comes with a type of rice that I hadn’t had before. Complemented the steak great. As before, I didn’t save room for desert. Nenad brought me a small serving of the Gelato to try. First time I’ve ever had it. Very good. All in all I really liked the food and the atmosphere. I will be back on my next trip. Really enjoyed it.

Mixed experience: My waiter was helpful in making suggestions for dinner selection. But, overall disappointed with the service. I waited what seemed to be forever for my food(almost 30 minutes according to the time stamp on the receipt when the order was placed), then waited«forever» for my check. The salmon had decent flavor, but was very dry. The mixed veg included beets… that was a nice surprise.

This place is excellent for relaxing with friends and eating a quality meal and having martinis! The happy hour is the best I’ve seen in Bismarck. I recommend the espresso martini and local cheese curds!

Food is hit or miss. Atmosphere is good in the bar/lounge area and nice in the dining room. Drinks are a bit over priced.

This place looks great, tucked inside an historic building. The staff were extremely friendly and inviting. I had the Bacon Grind Burger. Yes… that’s a burger with bacon ground right into the meat. I didn’t eat the bun, but the burger, cheese, tomato and onion really hit the spot. Good, solid meat flavor. They serve them medium well, which sounded like it could be too done for my taste, but that wasn’t the case. The burger was juicy and had a great, grilled flavor and of course the unbeatable taste of bacon throughout. I asked if I should get the fries or homemade chips. Chips were recommended so that’s what I ordered. They were good. Very similar to Saratoga Chips at Montgomery Inn in Cincinnati. To that end, they would have been much tastier if I’d had some barbecue sauce for dipping. Based on one burger and chips… I’d say this place is A-OK.

My first martini had a wierd taste. Blue cheese stuffed olives might have turned a bit. Dunno. The second was perfect without the funky olives. We were charged for both drinks. My wife’s Ahi was terrible. 30.00 too. My steak was tasty and the house made onion rings were good. .25 charge for dipping sauce. Lissa our server was great though.

The front desk lady wasn’t very welcoming. When a sign says ‘please wait to be seated’ this is what my husband and I expected. Instead, we got an unpleasant ‘can I help you guys?’ from the lady. We asked her for a table for two, and she told us that we can sit anywhere at the bar area. Apparently the whole restaurant is the bar area. I’m sorry, but I’ve never been here. How would I know that? Location is fancy, prices are fancy, but the restaurant itself is not fancy at all. Poor service. Silverware is wrapped into paper napkin — cafeteria style. Water in plastic cups — just like at fast food places. Food is not bad. Just ok. Nothing special. Will NOT come back
