Went here for the first time, being during a busy time of day for my birthday. Service was a bit slow but our waiter did mention that he was still new and getting the hang of things. Very respectful and did check up on us. Food was delicious! Did’t see much wrong with any of it except that the food wasn’t as hot as it could be. Over all though my experience was okay. Birthday perks if you show your I.D. :)

Super unimpressed. Stuffed three large parties into a small section with other empty sections of the restaurant. Customer service was awful — «I need you all to listen to me so I can give you your food.» Honestly, the food wasn’t too impressive.

This is my favorite restaurant when visiting family in ND. When I’m in Bismarck, I’ll eat there at least 3 – 4 times over a couple of weeks. It’s not traditional Mexican like i get in Cali, but still one of my favorite restaurants for good food. Everyone knows my first stop when we land and leave the airport is this place. I’ll be there next week. Can’t wait.

I’ve had my share of good and bad Mexican food but this place was horrible. The service was decent but I would have had a better meal if I would have just gone to the grocery store and picked up a TV dinner. I ordered a chile relleno, which one would expect a whole stuffed pepper at any other place. Well to my surprise, I received a few chopped up green pepper cubes mixed with cheese held together by an egg. So pretty much an omelet. If I ever return to Bismarck, I will never come back here.

My husband and I wrote a review about the poor service and how we watched food sit around for 10 minutes… It was deleted?

Lots of vegetarian dishes with vegetarian imitation(soy) meat. Very rarely do I ever go out to eat and find a restaurant that offer a meat substitute that is vegetarian. There is a large portion of one page on the menu that offers many different vegetarian options. The food was very good and the service was friendly. The dinner food serving size was substantial. The veggie fajita included corn, black beans, tomatoes, zucchini, yellow squash, onions, mushrooms and peppers. It also had a small bowl of cheese, avocado dip, chipotle and sour cream. There is a large sports bar with lots of TVs and a separate dinning area that was quiet and comfortable. We were also informed by our waiter what had we waited until 9:00pm to eat we would have received a 25% discount on our bill.
I will eat here again.

The food was not good. The service was mediocre. There is plenty of parking. The restaurant was fairly loud. I was treated poorly as soon as the waiter realized I was not ordering an alcoholic drink(even though I paid for dinner for three people).

I spoke too soon! Yesterdays experience won’t keep me from coming back, but will definitely keep me from sitting at the bar rail during lunch hours. I decided to take a lunch break from my shopping for food for the Championship games to be played Sunday. I sat at the bar rail and was greeted by the bartender David. He made my drinks and then just went on his way to do sidework. I was not offered a menu. I gave him a few minutes to see if he asked if I wanted a menu or just put one beside me, nothing. So I asked for one myself. I ordered not too long after and helped myself to chips and salsa(they have a chips and salsa bar that customers serve themselves at). I sit down and catch up on Facebook and wait… and wait… and wait… and wait… for my food. I noticed David went into the back once to see about the food about 10 minutes after I ordered, but then didn’t check for about another 10 minutes. The two ladies next to me had received their food and finished before I got mine. They were being served by a different bartender(medium height, dark brown hair, female bartender). There were about 7 two-tops in the bar, so there wasn’t any reason for my food to take almost 20 minutes. As my food was 3 different side orders, I’m not sure what took so long in the kitchen either. David delivered my food and the side of SOFT corn tortillas were hard and stale. Having worked in restaurants for many, many years, this was a tell-tale sign my food had sat under the heat lamps for who knows how long and now the tortillas were not servable. To be honest, any server who cares about service and their customers should have never served them and had them remade immediately prior to serving them to a customer. I was never given silverware for my meal, so I ate with my fingers and the bean spoon that came in the bowl. At the end of my meal, I noticed something stringy in my beans(I ordered without cheese), possibly shredded chicken or pork– this worried me as I am vegan. I asked if the beans had meat and I was told no. Hopefully I was just seeing things. Throughout my meal, all glasses were scooped directly into the ice bin, no ice scoops used. This is serving 101… bacteria is spread from hand to glass to ice, plain and simple. This was by both bartenders. Also, there is a huge chance a glass will chip off in the ice, not knowingly, and now a customer eats the ice. Please instill a policy of using an ice scoop! Yep… long review here, but I saw so many things done wrong yesterday that I had to share. I have visited three locations, Fargo, Jamestown and Bismarck. Jamestown service was awesome and a few of our visits to Bismarck have been good. Fargo, well there was much to be desired about their service. Maybe the company should do a company wide service retraining meeting!

The food is okay. Not real authentic Mexican but you get good quantity of food for your buck. The chip bar — Chips are stale, the nacho cheese is thin and runny. Margarita’s are good.

Very bland food, Taco bell might be closer to authentic mexican. Not impressed with the service. The only reason I would ever go here is for the free birthday meal… but now we have Taco Palenque for our free birthday meals and good authentic mexican food.

They need to change the slogan to… Chips are free Dinner, Rice and Beans are extra. I recently went to Paradiso for lunch, upset at the fact the meal didn’t come with a side of mexican rice and beans. Perhaps this ex-Texan is spoiled but rice and beans ISMEXICANFOOD. Don’t charge me $ 12 for two small enchiladas and one tamale and make me pay for rice and beans(um, I am very aware of what the food cost of that plate is) Ahhhh, I don’t think so. So sad, because Paradiso’s WAS the only decent Mexican Restaurant in the Bismarck/Mandan area. Not any more, I don’t appreciate being nickeled and dimed for mediocre. I wish North Dakota had better ethnic cuisine.

I was pleasantly surprised to find such delicious mexican food in the Midwest! Starting with the fresh, cripsy chips, served with salsa with just the right amount of hot, I don’t like the sauce too hot. My favorite way to test a Mexican Restaurant’s food is to have a Chili Rellanos. If that is good, the rest of the menu offerings follow suit. The main course was one of the best Chili Rellanos I’ve ever had. The rice was to my liking with a very good flavor, lettus was fresh and I finished up dinner with Sopapillas. I’ve only seen them in little pillows shapes, but what was put before me made my eyes pop out. It was a dinner plate size sopapilla, cut into pie size pieces, served with honey and cinnamon, enough for 2 or more people. I got there right after the big dinner rush and my service was excellent. I got a lot of food for $ 10.00. A great value with delicious food!

I have routinely had bad service and they screw up my order 9 out of 10 times which is extremely frustrating. We normally go straight to the bar because the service is a million times faster that way. Although, I have had good service in the bar a couple times — the rest of the times have been awful. The servers have been rude to us, and seem like they have better places to be than at our table. My husband loves the food, but as earlier mentioned — they always screw up mine. Because I change ingredients often, taking stuff off as needed for my diet … I always end up having to send it back and then be hungry while they make me up a new plate. At least they take it off the bill. I will say the chips & salsa are quite good, and I love the margaritas and teas. The prices are a tad high for the service they provide but eh, maybe it’s just me.

You know what Bismarck is lacking? A really excellent Mexican restaurant. Paradiso just doesn’t cut it for me. While I admit that the salsa is among the best(very mild) I’ve tasted, their chips suck. I’d compare the chips to the baked tortilla chips they have at the grocery store. Rather reminiscent of a stale cracker. Bummer. The entrees I’ve had here aren’t anything to write home about. I had the chimichanga(beef) and it wasn’t awesome, but it didn’t suck either. I suppose if you have a hankerin’ for Mexican, you can go here and get your craving sated, but it’s not my first choice. Sorry, Paradiso!

The food is only fair. Then they cram everyone in one section while the other section is completely empty. The service is good and so are the specials but you have to then eat the food

Nice family Mexican restaurant right off I-94 in the state capital. Apparently Paradiso is a local chain but it has the feel of being a standalone independent restaurant. Nice lunch menu. Excellent service. Had a fajita dish but forgot to tell them I don’t like it topped by a dollop of sour cream. Quite tasty and the sauce was excellent.

Aw man, this place was terrible. I love Mexican food(who doesn’t?) but the taco salad we had didn’t taste anything like taco, or salad. After that, I was afraid to order anything else. There was a nacho(?) bar – you can’t go too wrong with chips and salsa, but there was a pot of melted cheese that made Velveeta look like fine French fare. It tasted like something, salt, I guess, but it didn’t taste like cheese.
