We have dined here twice. Both the wife and I agree this is the best Mexican food in Bismarck. Everything is always fresh the service is great and they have a full bar @ the 12th Street location.

Being from California, I’m used to really amazing Mexican food. This place did not disappoint. The chips and salsa are absolutely delicious, as well as the guacamole. We ordered tacos, chili relleno, and a tamale. All were fresh authentic and delicious. We had our order to go and the service was good and quick. I would definitely recommend this place. We visited the restaurant on S. 12th St.

We live in Atlanta and rarely have Mexican when we are in town. We have our old school locals we go to. Our family recommended this place and it was amazing! The service was nice and quick, as well as friendly. The food was awesome! There were five of us and and we all got something different. If you want good, authentic Mexican food, unlike any others in Bismarck, this is the place to go!

Only giving this location two stars because of great service and their amazeballs chips and salsa. I have had Los Molcajetes in Jamestown before and LOVED it, so I was pleased to see one in the Kirkwood Mall when I was working there last weekend. I decided to stop in for a quick bite on my thirty minute lunch break. The service was very fast, as I was seated immediately and had my drink on my table and a menu within less than a minute. The waiter was also right over almost as soon as I put the menu down to order so kudos to him because I was one of five tables he was taking care of and three of us arrived in rapid succession. He was also Johnny(or would it be Juan, here?) on the spot with a refill, didn’t even need to be asked and was pretty quick. I asked for the check before I had finished eating so I could be settled up and ready to dash back to work as soon as I had my last bite, and he was quick to get me my check and take my card. They also use iPads with Square to process cards so there was no scrambling to do math in my head for a tip, I just tapped 20%, and I thought this was nifty. Whoever this server is, he’s a master of his craft and a credit to this establishment. I left him an extra dollar tip in cash on the table because he was so good. My chips and salsa arrived quickly right after I placed my order, which was awesome because I was starving, and I really love their chips and salsa. I seriously cannot say enough good things about their chips and salsa! The chips are fresh, warm yellow corn tortilla chips that taste home made and the salsa has just the right amount of kick for a pre meal warm up and just a nice hint of cilantro to it. It’s not chunky, if that’s your thing, but it’s thick enough that you can get a good heap on a chip if you want. So why two stars for this location with all the nice things I’ve had to say so far? My tacos. It’s a $ 10 entrée and I was ready to pay that for two tacos given my previous experience at their Jamestown location. I was expecting something amazing and even texted my girlfriend who is a nut for tacos to tease her that I was getting tacos from this awesome Mexican place. Cue the sad tuba sound from The Price is Right. One would think their hard taco shells would be the same quality as their amazeballs chips, but NOPE! It looked and tasted like it was from one of those Old el Paso kits you get at the store. The beef was almost totally unseasoned and there was no sauce at all in there, so apparently they were even skimping on that when assembling their Old el Paso kit tacos. The beef was also so greasy it totally softened one side of my second taco that was resting on the plate, and both tacos dripped everywhere. Also, way too much lettuce and no tomato at all on these tacos. A good amount to cheese, but you would think they’d layer it right on the beef to achieve melty goodness instead of on top of the lettuce where it remains cold. I’m usually not one to complain and I was in a hurry so I scarfed down my tacos, shovelled in the refried beans which were pretty good and had a nice blob of delicious melty cheese on them, had some rice which was alright but nothing special, ate some more chips so I could at least leave on a high note, gulped down the rest of my Sprite, and boogied outta there feeling disappointed and cheated out of $ 10 for my tacos. I seriously could have had better at Taco Bell for $ 5. It’s a good thing those chips and salsa were free! I’ll give them another shot for sure, as I think they could have potential for decent nachos and their Jamestown location knocked my socks off with their fajitas. But I will definitely not be having their tacos again.

The service here was horrid. When we wanted refills it was like pulling teeth. The food was okay but it was cold by the time it got to our table. I’d much rather go to La Carretta across the street.

Went to the south 12th location — so good! I had enchiladas and Hubbind had a steak burrito. Both were perfectly prepared. Best part was either the guacamole or the rice, both of which were very flavorful. Everything was fresh and service was good. The restaurant itself is pretty basic, but it looked clean and that’s the most important part for that aspect. Will definitely go again!

I went to their new one inside the mall, ordered a burrito, was sick to my stomach a few hours after i got home. Stayed up most of the night throwing up. Consider your health and your kids when you come here.

I absolutely love La Molcajete’s. The service is prompt and the food is hot, fresh, and good. I only gave it 4 stars b/c it’s a bit pricey for the amount of food you get.
