This way my favorite place to grab a bite to eat, however today kind of ruined it for me. I got there around 1pm to have lunch before work and ordered the taco salad with chicken. Figured I would try something new and last time I ate there I saw someone who ordered it and it looked really good. Was pretty excited since taco salad is my favorite. Food came out pretty quickly as usual and I started eating then I discovered a nasty long black hair in my food. I was completely disgusted by this and immediately felt sick to my stomach. The waitress who I addressed this issue to seemed like she could care less, I asked her to remove this plate and I wanted a refund on the food. A younger guy who didn’t address himself, I am assuming he was a manager took care of the full bill for both lunches. He then tells me he doesn’t want to see me leave hungry and asked if he could get me anything else. I’m thinking to myself why the hell would I want anything out of your kitchen after you served me food with hair in it? I noticed today that several of the women who work there do not have their hair pulled back properly. Not sure why this issue has not been addressed. After this experience I am not sure I’ll return. I gladly appreciate that the bill was taken care of but when you allow your staff to not properly tie hair back or provide them with hats and I’m served hair in my food that’s a problem.

As my wife indicated, Not good. Would not return. Was there around 6PM, skinny lady with red shirt Bartending. Was walking around Bar holding pack of cigarettes. Ew, disgusting. Mentioned something about sneaking out for«smoking». Came back, stinking of smoke. Customers dont need to hear about this type of junk. I hate smoking, and personally think smokers should be jailed Or Executed. As a company owner myself, I would NEVER hire smokers, because I believe that anybody who is addicted to a product is not smart enough to work for me. But even if by chance, I had someone like that working for me, I would NEVER allow it, or even discussion of it in front of my customers, during Company Time, Or on company property. Horribly disgusting. I could maybe understand some 70-Year old guy doing it, because Back Then, people didn’t Know better. But in This Day And Age, for anyone, especially younger folks to smoke is disgusting, despicable, and shows their lack of intelligence, because everyone Knows it is harmful. Also your carbonera was dry, and your duck burger tasteless. This lady we are referring to was rude as well. I would not recommend.

Very good food. I enjoying coming here for lunch. I have never had a bad sandwich here also amazing soup! The only thing I can say that I am disappointed with is the service from the servers. We had to continuously walk to the bar to get our drinks. There were multiple servers just standing around talking. It was unprofessional.

As soon as I moved here, I heard many great things about Lucky Duck’s, so I was very much looking forward to eating here and wanted to LOVE it. But instead I just thought it was okay, and have thought that every other time I have eaten here. They have messed up my to go orders many times, but because of it I have tried other sandwiches that I would not have normally ordered. The servers are always nice and professional, but can be kind of slow(we always try to eat during the least busy hours when there are only a few other people there). Overall, I will eat there again, and probably again after that. But it is not my favorite place.

Love the food here, especially their knoephla soup, but whenever it’s busy the service can be kind of bad. Last time we were there it was about 8pm and it took a good 10 minutes for anyone to even notice we were there.

I love eating here. The servers are always pleasant and fast, and I really believe the food is some of best Bismarck has to offer. I really like the tacos and sandwiches. The beer selection is great, and the bartender always has a recommendation of a new beer to try on their rotating taps. Seriously, check this place out!

My wife and I ate at Lucky Ducks last nite and sat outdoors on the upper patio. Fun atmosphere with a few of some roof tops and a little of downtown 4th st. I had the duck stroganoff and my wife had the pork flat bread. Both were very tasty and we ate the whole generous portions. The stroganoff is something you will not find anywhere else and it is very satisfying. The flat bread was spicy enough to get ones attention but not overpowering. The service was attentive but not intrusive. The server was kind enough to change channels on the tv and refilled beverages promptly. The only negative that I can think of was the high price of our wine for the volume of the pour. We look forward to returning again soon.

We ate on the Pond Side. The food was bland and underwhelming. My husband had a duck burger and it came out cooked well done. Duck should not be cooked well. It was dry and tasteless. We ordered off the kids menu for our toddler. The menu listed spaghetti with marinara, alfredo, or butter for $ 5. Great, perfect. We picked the marinara. When it came out it wasn’t ‘spaghetti noodles’ it was penne. Maybe not a big deal for an adult, but for a picky toddler, the shape matters. She wouldn’t eat it. Then we got the bill and we were charged extra for marinara. Our server was not very helpful and food service was really slow. I wouldn’t go back.

Duck Marsala is the quack’s quack. Definitely a repeat dish. Duck char on duck fat — definitely ducky! Tender and healthy, no knife needed here. Pasta cooked just right and plentiful. So much it could have been the pond of lily pads this one made it’s last flight. Under the pads of pasta coursed the Shivaji mushroom and saluted onion sauce. Wow, so much sweetness was pulled from the onions. This was certainly a salacious flight of foul that lands on its own island perfection.

For having such a small kitchen they prepare and serve some tasty plates. Today I tried the mint lamb tacos and the waiter recommended soup if I was hungry. Sausage potato or knoephla were my two choices. Knoephla is pretty well known in the area so I wanted to see if Lucky Ducks could match up. I wasn’t disappointed, as it had the perfect thickness and lots of potatoes. The lamb was lacking seasoning but it is new on the menu. Always amusing to watch the wait staff. I am not sure how they keep things organized. This place is home grown, has character and the food will bring you back. Try it !

I have visited this restaurant twice, and my opinion is that it is an average sandwich shop. The upside is that they offer gluten free bread. We ordered chips and salsa for an appetizer, which took so long to arrive it came with our main meal. Service was very slow and our drinks weren’t refilled in a timely manner. I ordered the pintail 2.0 sandwich, which was roast beef, Gouda, horseradish sauce, and fried jalapeños, which surprisingly weren’t as strong as I thought. It was a tasty sandwich and the beef was tender, but overpriced at $ 10. If you’re paying that much for a sandwich, it should come with a side such as fries, chips, or coleslaw.

The duck quesadilla is amazing! They have pretty good knoephla soup as well. If you are ordering catering, get the bacon wrapped shrimp!

Went here for lunch on the Pond side. Excellent atmosphere and the food was fantastic. It was a little noisy for our baby, but we were able to be out on the deck where it was a little quieter. The taco trio was fantastic. The duck taco was my favorite of the three. Great food, great service, great atmosphere, and everyone at our table was happy.

Experience here was okay. I came because of a recommendation since I am from out of state. Street parking was super easy to find and that is a major plus since I’m visiting. I ordered The Lucky Duck with a side of fruit. When I tried to find a place to sit it appeared that the manager/owner was taking up the largest table in the place doing paperwork and making phone calls which seemed like a poor business practice because it was noon and there were people waiting to be seated. My food came out fast but I couldn’t locate silverware and wasn’t given any. Eating a fruit bowl just became alot more interesting. My sandwich was good, could have used more duck sauce but overall not too shabby. My plate was cleared away quickly by a very attentive young woman. The kitchen staff seemed to really have their stuff together and were clearly working their butts off. I listened to them call food(which is something I use to do) and was impressed with the lack of cussing and obedience they had for the caller. Great job to them!

Eh. I only tried a salad, but it was a bit pricey for what I actually received. Very nice staff, nice environment. Good tap selection. Could turn the smug down on the food and it’s pricing.

I really enjoyed the Patio(The Pond) we ordered the Nachos, they were pretty dry, over cooked. a lobster flatbread which was lacking any luster, and the Avocado burger which was okay. Also ordered 4 drinks and it was $ 70. it was pretty pricey. The appetizer, although not that appealing was enough for a meal for two so next time, i’ll just order an app. The patio is very nice and comfortable, was the best part of the experience. Next time, i’ll eat somewhere else and then go here for drinks on the patio.

This is a review from our October 3, 2014 visit. Simply Disappointed in our visit. Four meals for a family and two were average and two were completely inedible. Short rib special was unde cooked and dry Bedford chuck. Breakfast sandwich came win pepper jack cheese that was not pallatable. Staff would not rectify either meal, said they couldn’t replace or refund poor food. Staff was not attentive and we had to walk back to the kitchen to get our own silverware and correct orders. Manager didn’t care that the food and service was poor. Definitely recommend skipping.

Who would have thought the best sandwich in the world would be found in Bismarck, ND? If you don’t believe me, try the Redhead. Pulled pork, ham, havarti cheese, and pickles. Perfection. On our first visit, my dining companion took one bite of my Redhead and forced me to trade the rest for half of her sandwich. *sad trombone* But it was OK, because her sandwich was almost as good! We’re currently working our way through the lunch menu and have yet to find anything we didn’t love. It’s in a great setting and the service is very good. The owners are very nice people and I’m rooting for their success. Judging from the large lunch crowds on Mondays, I won’t have to root too hard. :)
