If you are a Marriott rewards member, stay here for the points. Other than that, lackluster is the one word description. I always request a non-smoking room, room reeked of smoke, checked in past midnight and had no energy to complain. I’ll stay somewhere else the next time I come to town.

Booked a room and was told that there was a computer error. Wanted me to pay more than twice the amount. Clerk acted like he was doing me a favor by offering me this. I left to find another room elsewhere.

I came here for business and I stayed here in March of 2012. I would have given this establishment 4 stars, but the service I received moved it to 5 stars. This is not the Ritz nor the Waldorf, but I really liked it. It was simple and what I needed for a business trip. The manager, Michael Bliss, was very helpful and very professional. He checked us in and answered all of our questions. He did not have the room that I requested available, but he let me know what he had available at the time and I had the option to wait until the other was available. I was checking in early, so this was nice that he had given me multiple options. I had looked up different restaurants on Unilocal before I went on the trip, and I ran them by with Michael, Brent, Lisa, or Matt and they would let me know their honest opinion. In addition, I needed to pick up some souvenirs, and they let my coworkers and I know of a good place to go get gifts. It was unseasonably warm when I went. In fact, it was warmer in North Dakota than it was in Chicago. As a result, I had brought my running clothes and they gave me a good route to run. I made use of the free wifi, pool(small), fitness center(small), and the free breakfast during my stay. The people that worked here made the stay better for me and my coworkers. I really appreciated Michael, Brent, Lisa, Matt, and the other people that worked there.

This hotel is in a great location for those who need a temporary home-base in Bismarck and who don’t want to be too far from the airport. The good thing is that Bismarck ain’t that big, so being close to the airport means you’re close to everything else in town! Beyond location, this is a very basic hotel. However, it’s also very clean and well-kept. Parking is free, and so is breakfast. My double queen room had all the basic amenities with some small bonuses. For one, there were a TON of cable channels. Trust me, you need this as an entertainment option in Bismarck. Secondly, the heater could REALLY pump out waves of tropical-level warmth. This is clutch, because it was colder than a witch’s you-know-whatty when I visited. The fitness center is two treadmills and an elliptical. Fortunately, they’re newer machines, and each has a TV attached. Bring headphones. The pool was undergoing some renovation while I was there, but the hotel was offering free passes to the YMCA up the street. This would have been great if the windchill wasn’t minus 16. The breakfast buffet was quite nice. While there were no scrambled eggs or omelets, there were dried blueberries and dried cherries to put in your cereal or oatmeal. This is the first hotel I’ve been to that offers such a treat! AND they had fresh strawberries. AND their coffee was good! Kinda amazing… In the evenings, they offered cookies and coffee near the front door. I imagine that you could splash some of that hot coffee on your face to thaw it on your way in. Very thoughtful of them. One night, they put out mini red velvet cupcakes. Wow. It’s these little touches that earned them an extra star. Otherwise, their«basic-ness» really only deserves three stars.

OK, basic room, not much to do in town. People are nice and hotel has free wifi, small indoor pool and continental breakfast. It is absolutely ass cold here in the winter and as the other reviewer posted, not much to do. Papa Johns does deliver to your room though!
