I enjoy the Blarney Dip. The staff is very good. Russ, the manager is a great host when there. The whole experience with the open wall is a blast. I am glad it’s here in Bismarck.

Stopped by with friends. Over the top service and taste. Had the meatloaf. The Irish food is really Irish. One of my very best meals in the past years! While we enjoyed our stay in the Bismarck area, this meal will go down as THE high point. Of course a glass of Guinness with food always hits the spot, but it had more of a restaurant atmosphere than a pub when we were there supper hour.

Food was great. Service was terrible. Manager ended up carding my friends and I twice with no explanation. We were not sitting at the bar and no one ordered an alcoholic drink. The youngest person with us was 23…

Some of the best food in town. Try the Sheperds Pie and the Reuben, they are both outstanding. The bread pudding is unbelieveable as well!

Really delicious treat! A friend of mine told me that I wouldn’t regret going here, and boy was that true. I got a large cold mug of root beer that was on tap! Ended up getting the Italian pub sandwich that the last bite was just a delicious as the first. Such a neat Irish pub environment too with a really neat setting! Want a near bar to go to? This is the place.

Service at the Blarney Stone is generally acceptable, but in a place as busy as that, it’s easy for your server/bartender to lose track of you for awhile. It’s a surprisingly big pub and it seems to attract a mixed crowd: the old, the young, the successful, the unsuccessful, the beautiful, the not-so-beautiful, hipsters/lumbersexuals, and Chads and Trixies. On balance, it’s a good place. Check it out if you happen to find yourself in downtown Bismarck and you’re interested in going to a pub. Do note that the food is neither spectacularly good nor spectacularly bad — it’s pretty average as far as pub grub goes in a «pub in a box» kind of establishment. There seems to be a problem with overcooking steaks. I don’t know if that’s an equipment issue, a personnel issue, or a bit of both.

It’s a pub. I didn’t feel disappointed nor was I mesmerized. I had a pint and their Sirloin. I’d meet friends here if someone mentioned it but yet I wouldn’t be my first pic if I had to choose.

Great atmosphere, food, and drink menu. Also had very attentive staff. Would have been more pleasant without the stale mop-water stench throughout the joint. Hope it’s not the normal.

The food is not good unless you come for hangover brunch, the bartenders don’t know how to mix a drink and will argue when you tell them what you want. The open air patio is great.

This place is awesome. We were in Bismarck for the night and looking for some quality food and drink. I started out with the«Creamy Pear». I don’t recall exactly what is in it, but it was a mix of beer with something pear flavoured. It was smooth and refreshing with no nasty aftertaste so it was right down my alley. I also tried the Fish and Chips with rosemary gravy and sour cream on the chips. I would pass on the sour cream part of the dish next time, but the Rosemary gravy was delectable. For the fish you get two massive pieces of golden battered fish and a side of tartar sauce. The fish was okay, but the gravy stole the show. I would eat here again if we are ever back in Bismarck.

The pub promised and delivers. The beer was an IPA and was sold as a grapefruit start and a nice bitter finish, promised and delivered. Delicious. Our server was attentive and friendly. Dinner was the corned beef and cabbage. The cabbage is served in cream sauce that was just right not runny or thick. Corned beef was a touch dry on the surface but the flavor carried the dish as well as the mashed potato with green onion mixed I and as a garnish. The portion was large and if I wasn’t so revved up by the entrée I would have unfortunately skipped the dessert. But that was not the case and I was further impressed by the bread pudding and caramel and whipped cream and overall delicious warm sauce. You can’t say Bismarck doesn’t have a good solid place to tip a few and fill up!

I adore this place. The ambiance inside is so fantastic — Dropkick Murphys playing loudly — groups crowded around drinking and laughing — dark wood furniture and a really fantastic vintage looking bar. I tried the Shepard’s Pie the first time I went on a few months ago and can’t bring myself to order anything else! It’s fantastic in a stick to your ribs you should probably go for a run after kind of way. Great draft varieties — my dinner mate tried the Key Lime martini and said it was incredible and the Bruschetta salad(which I should have stolen a bite of but I was face down in my Shepards Pie). Wait staff always treats us wonderfully. I’ll miss this place when I stop traveling to Bismarck!

Ahh, the bar and grill. Pretty much a requirement for a city to be taken seriously, in my humble opinion. And Bismarck wouldn’t qualify as a city without one — yes, it is the capital of North Dakota, but apart from a thriving city center, it seems to consist pretty much of strip malls and governmental buildings. As do many state capitals. The day we came, this city was experiencing something of a heatwave, with it being 95 degrees and rather humid at about 5PM. Given we hadn’t eaten anything of substance since breakfast, we were ready to consume calories in mass quantities. But we had a surprisingly difficult time finding a parking space — a bewildering array of one way streets and otherwise unavailable spots led us in desperation to a nearby garage, from which we exited via a rather forlorn drug store. However, those who seek eventually do find, and we found ourselves seated inside the Blarney Stone. Given the heat, one might be forgiven if they ask why we didn’t sit outside. Two primary reasons: 1) The outside air wasn’t moving(yet, we would have quite the storm in the evening); 2) The intense concentration of cigarette smokers. Now I know we’re from California and everything, still it was a bit overwhelming… I can’t imagine how people with that addiction deal with their issue in the heart of a Dakotan winter. As for the meal itself — I had the Paddy’s Pepper Pasta, paired with a Kilkenny Irish Crème Ale, which was definitely needed, as the Pasta had quite the kick to it. Wife had a steak with the Guiness Mushroom Sauce. The food filled us so well that we regrettably had to pass on dessert. The bar area was happening, and the rest of the restaurant was certainly picking up as we departed. Will visit again if we ever return to this city.

Can’t ask for a better pub experience. The bartenders are friendly and welcoming right when you enter. It’s a seat-yourself kind of place with both outdoor and extensive indoor seating. I was greeted promptly by a waiter and offered cool water to extinguish the mid afternoon heat of the day. Their beer selection is vast and so are their mixed drinks. My ice Blarney Coffee was a little weak, which is why it got four stars. Food was fantastic!

My Beefeater martini was $ 6. That’s a win. It wasn’t as dirty as I like and the server brought me an extra side of olive juice. Perfect. I had the spinach dip appetizer. It was good but I was imagining the dip to be warm and bubbly but it was the cold kind of spinach dip. My fault for assuming and it was still good. My dining companions both liked their food a lot; bangers and mash and the beer cheese soup in a bread bowl. The server offered to get us tastes of beers to try without us even asking. That was appreciated. I would definitely go back to this place. Would have given 5 stars if the food was a little cheaper and the draft beer selection had been more creative.

Excellent experience! Friendly and knowledgeable staff about the beer selection(plus the menu gives a history of each brewery). Ordered the mussels as an appetizer and the tomato broth was divine. One note about the appetizers: most are priced above $ 10 and seem aimed to share(3+ people) rather than a small serving as a prelude to your meal. The entrees were large portions for a shepherds pie and meatloaf. Would definitely return next time if I travel through Bismarck.

I visited the pub with some friends and was blown away. The whole atmosphere of the pub is fantastic. Staff is knowledgeable of the beers on tap and hand, and there’s A LOT of beer. Pool tables on the second floor, nice bathrooms, and multiple rooms to hang out in. One thing I was not a fan of, which while you’re drinking on a weekend is sort of a big deal for me, is the kitchen closes early in my opinion. If you drink, you gotta eat. So, that’s the lost star. Other than that, I can’t wait to go back and have another beer sampler.

This is one of my favorite spots to eat when I am in Bismarck. They have a huge alcohol and beer selection. I ordered the corned beef and cabbage, one of my favorite foods to make. It came with creamed cabbage, mashed potatoes, and roll. The creamed cabbage was a great complement to the corned beef, and my only complaint was it was slightly dry. Our service was a bit slow, and we had to remind the waitress to do simple things like refill our water and bring jelly for our toast. Very fun place to bring friends and out of town guests! Nice addition to the Bismarck scene.

Ok, it has been almost a year since I was here so bear with me. This pub was quite cozy with inviting décor. Very much what I would expect an Irish pub to look like. There were quiet corners, almost separate rooms, to sit in and we had one all to ourselves. It was a wonderful dining experience since my boyfriend and I were living states apart at the time. All I wanted was to sit down and talk to him over a good dinner with minimal interruptions. That is exactly what the Blarney Stone provided. Our server was attentive, yet not overbearing, and overall quite friendly. For the life of me, I can’t remember what(Trevor) ordered, but I know I had the Celtic Crab Cake Salad. I also remember it being very good. The crab cakes weren’t too salty and the veggies were chosen to accompany them well. North Dakota was definitely too cold for the two of us, but we had some nice experiences. The natives are incredibly friendly and the food isn’t half bad either!
