Service wise— 5 stars. Ordered a bunch of things online and they called and said it would be ready for pickup in 10 mins. We ordered calamari, spring rolls, seaweed salad and 3 types of sushi rolls. Under $ 30 for all of that. The reason I can only give this place 3 stars is bc everything but the calamari tasted«off». The sushi was very bland and super mushy, seaweed salad inedible, spring rolls were super soggy and not the typical spring rolls around town! I won’t be back here. Other great options in the area for sushi! :)

Tried this place for the first time last night. We ordered take out and it was great! I hate that one reviewer got food poisoning and said the fish wasn’t fresh — my husband ordered the sake sashimi and had the opposite experience. He said is was delicious and tasted fresh to him! We also ordered the lion roll, philly roll, miso soup & a side of fried rice. Only complaint is that the order took 40 minutes to be ready from the time I called rather than 20 like they told me. Not a huge deal to me though, and the staff was very friendly. To sum it up, the sushi wasn’t anything spectacular, but definitely good and fresh for the price! We wish we would have tried it sooner as we are moving out of the area this weekend. If you live near Crestwood, please try it out!

The prices are great! The Sushi and rice dishes are delicious. The wait staff is always friendly and helpful. The other day when we were there they told us the buy one get two sake was ending on Sunday(3÷27÷16). I do not think that would be a smart move since so many places have that. Besides that tipbit– the food is awesome!

First off. I got food poisoning – enough said. Fish: It wasn’t fresh. We got several salmon nigris, yellow tail nigri, eel nigri, yellowtail roll, over the top roll. I could tell immediately when I had the yellowtail, there was a fishy taste with a sour aftertaste to it. I did not finish it. The salmon had no flavor to it, and I know good salmon will often have a rich, fatty taste to it. The rest of the fish had a lot of rice packed to it and was not tasty. Clearly it wasn’t fresh, because the moment I got home, I started feeling the effects of the food poisoning. Hibachi: We got the hibachi style fried rice with the shrimp. It was alright. They put too much sugar and the overall taste wasn’t amazing. Service: The service was good, we had a good server who was very polite and nice. When we mentioned the taste of the hamachi, she immediately gave us a new roll which was slightly better. Ambiance: Décor was nice, overall the atmosphere was good. Bottom line: Any sushi place that has fish that makes me throw up afterwards is automatically off my list. I do not think we’ll be coming back again.

Found sushi village through groupon and have been trying to find a good sushi place in the area. I think we might have found it! My husband and I came here for Valentine’s day and loved it! Sushi was great, husband ordered crab salad as well as a couple of their bubble teas(milk teas) too. The waitress even got us to try the taro flavor tea which was amazing! Sweet and creamy! I loved the atmosphere as well, it’s very nicely decorated. It wasn’t very busy when we went around 1 or 2pm and I liked how they spaced everyone out instead of seating everyone right next to each other. Gave us some privacy to talk without hearing someone else’s conversation as well.

This might be my favorite sushi place in Birmingham. It doesn’t have the greatest décor but the food and speedy service make it a pretty solid choice when you’re craving sushi. If ordering take-out do NOT order on-line. Twice now I’ve showed up to pick up an online order and they either didn’t receive it or couldn’t confirm it(whatever that means). Their rolls are pretty standard but they have quite a lot of variety on their specialty rolls, they’re specials are pretty awesome and the food comes out quick.

Lol here is another update. SV is so inconsistent and hit or miss I am just going to commit to 3 stars(–_-) one day I came for inch and my salmon tasted a bit off. Glad I didn’t get sick though.

I heard all the ruckus about this sushi restaurant so I decided to try it out. It is in the Crestwood Village strip mall next to the Los Arcos Mexican restaurant with plenty of parking. The size of the building is nice and can seat quite a few people at once which leads me to believe there would hardly ever be a wait. The staff was excellent and took no time to get our sushi order out. The presentation of the rolls were great and tasted even better. I will have to try this location out once more to officially claim it as my new favorite sushi restaurant, but I imagine that will happen soon. Next time I will have to try out the boat that they offer. I have see pictures of it and it looks very appealing! I will be here many more times.

The hubby and I were craving sushi, and we were super sad that our fave sushi place went out of business. Of course, we tapped on the Unilocal app to see what sushi is local with good reviews. Sushi Village met the criteria. On a side note, we sure have been finding lots of good food in strip malls… what’s up with that? I will say the décor is not very impressive… really too plain to even describe. However, a place doesn’t always have to be visually appealing. A lot of times, places that look good have yucky food, but I digress. We were greeted by very cheerful ladies at the door and seated quickly. We chose to be at the sushi bar. The sushi chefs have limited English, so not a lot of conversation with them. We were a little bummed we couldn’t communicate very well with them; however, the waitresses and the hostess made up for it in spades. They were very attentive, ensuring we enjoyed our experience. We had sushi for 2 and it was more than enough and delicious. The tuna and salmon were top notch. Everything was delish, so while the décor is lacking, the food isn’t and that’s what is important. We will definitely be back. :)

I will continue to go to Sushi Village because the prices are so good. I went here the other night with a group of people for my birthday and it was wonderful. Everyone ordered different rings and because I was the birthday girl I tried them all lol! Here is a quick ranking of the best things we had: 1. Spicy yellow tail roll– it was the cheapest roll we got and it tasted the best! 2. Roll tide roll– there was yummy crunchiness through out eat bit and the jalapeño on top gives it a kick! 3. Green dragon– it was spicy. Can you tell I like spicy? 4. Kiss on fire– this was my least fav– too much mango and it made it too slippery to stay on my chop sticks! The service here was wonderful. They where very busy and our waiter was hustling! He was so nice the whole time and our food came out so quick. They have a good wine and beer selection too. For the prices and quality of sushi you can’t beat this joint!

Love it! I’m here at least a couple of times every month, and I’ve had just about everything on the menu. The only thing I’m not too crazy about that I’ve tried has been the seaweed salad and the bubble tea. The service is always great and even as a cherry on top we recently had a groupon! Definitely one of our favorite spots around.

Came here twice within 3 weeks. It has a great selection of rolls and entrees. I’m a sushi lover and I thought this place was bomb. They also have boba drinks but they only have lychee boba and not the regular tapioca balls. That is my only upset about this place. Will be coming back for the food!

Sushi Village is a quaint little restaurant tucked away in a large shopping center. At first glance you would think it’s a small chain restaurant. But whenever you go in it’s the cutest little gem. The staff is highly knowledgeable on their sushi, sashimi, and other entrées! You can let them know the type of sushi you normally like and they will give you excellent suggestions on what to try! Sushi is amazing at this place. There is a very large variety of stuff to try! They have traditional sushi and rolls vary from 3 – 8 pieces. There are large variety of appetizers to try and everything is at a great price! Rolls vary from 4.95−7.00! I always get a Lion Roll and my husband is always eating the Unagi & Snow Mountain Roll! If you are looking for excellent customer service & delicious sushi, definitely give Sushi Village a try!

The crispy spicy crabmeat roll is delicious! Went at lunch time and got the three rolls for 8.95 and they were 6 – 8 pieces each. The other two were the double crunch shrimp roll and the shrimp tempura roll, i think. They were also good. I also had the shrimp hibachi lunch special. Loved it. Will definitely be going back.

Sushi Village is our go to for a casual night of sushi. No need to dress up. No need to wait for a table. No need to spend your entire paycheck. This is really good sushi at a really good price. The Crazy Tuna Roll is awesome. Also, you get that salad with the ginger dressing with every order.

It’s the upper half of Alabama. Although fresh salmon and fish is easier to come by, raw fish presents a different sort of challenge. That being said, Sushi Village had decent sashimi – but it was inconsistent. The salmon was good as always but the tuna didn’t taste that much like tuna. The white tuna was chopped into smaller blocks! That made me sad because I love white tuna. The spicy tuna roll tasted slightly smoky and not spicy at all. There was a lot of mayo on the top that made this sushi have more flavor than it looks. The service and environment were very warm and welcoming. I always feel as if I’m too loud or the next table is too loud at one time. Sound doesn’t echo but it’s so quiet like a library but with food.

What a gem in a random spot. My wife and I stopped by before a movie and was incredibly surprised by the entire experience. First, it was very clean. Second, our server was great and the sushi was fantastic. They weren’t really busy but it was a little early with us trying to catch the movie. This is the kind of place I want to take friends and family because the outside apperance doesn’t reflect what’s on the inside(that’s kinda cheesy but…) the point is, they would be surprised and that’s the fun part about trying new places. Can’t wait to go back

This was our first visit to Sushi Village. And overall, it was a great experience. We decided to start with the house sake and calamari. The sake was decent, but not great. The calamari is not at all what we expected. It looked just like onion rings. Usually the rings are much smaller and there are some bodies mixed in. But these were the same size and look as onion rings. But it was delicious. The sauce(kind of a pepper jelly) is what made it incredible. The sushi was also fresh and delicious. We got the chef special A. Which was 12 pieces of sushi and 2 chef special rolls. You don’t get to choose what you get. So it is kind of a roulette. But since we aren’t picky, this seemed like a fair price to try some different sushi they had to offer. I know for sure one of the special rolls was the spider roll. The other, I’m not sure. But it had shrimp inside and crab salad on top. Both were really good. The ambiance was a whole lot cooler than I expected and the service was great. We will be back.
