Horrible excuse for bbq. More like chicken from a can with some sauce thrown on it. Avoid at all costs.

So disappointed! It has been about a year since I visited. Last time the wings were great. Today, it took 40 min to get our food. I order honey bbq smoked wings with a side of bake beans. They brought the wings with no sauce!!! Not a little sauce NO sauce. When the cashier made a big deal about the sauce and screamed the different sauces are right there on the wall. They forgot my side. My friend ordered the hamburger. It was cold and the cheese was not melted. Once I finally got my beans, they tasted like bushes original recipe. The sad part is they were not very busy, and taking a long time to get ever body food out.

Have eaten here before but having to wait 34 min. For my order is a little ridiculous. It wasn’t packed by any means. As a result one of our plates was cold by the time it came to our table. Disappointing.

I’ve been twice to this location, both times on a Saturday. The service is lackluster at best. Tables are dirty, but it could be because they’re busy… or under staff… or bad staff. The bbq is mediocre. This is Alabama, go to pretty much any other bbq place.

I only occasionally eat at the restaurant, but when I have, all have enjoyed the family style setting. The smoked wings are what keeps me coming back. The backed potato meals are a big value as well.

Service is crappy. You wait 20 – 30 minutes for your order and they bring you the wrong item. It happened to me on several occasions when ordering smoked wings. They brought me traditional wings instead. On my last visit, I looked the cashier directly in the eyes and stated smoked wings. I repeated it 2 – 3 times while she was swiping my card and I still got traditional wings when asking for smoked wings. I demanded a refund and left. I am done with Shane’s for a minute.

Extremely disappointed with the service! They took my order, but when delivering the food they did not bring mine. After I said something to them 3 times, I finally got my food (not done correctly). They never even once apologized and made me feel like I was an inconvenience.

This place used to e so wonderful and everything tastes great! The service is disgusting except for the manager in assuming. He was the only pleasant person in the staff. Waiters and waitresses walk by you and do not acknowledge your needs. The food tasted old and as if it had been cooked yesterday and warmed up in my microwave at home! Not worth it for the money anymore! Highly disappointed!

Every few months I try and eat at this location but since the new owners the service is lax at best. Order 2 hamburgers with fries and expect a 53 minute wait. When I ask what the problem is I am told it is fresh and takes 20 minutes… that makes a lot of sense… I go to the kitchen and talk to manager over the saloon doors and inquire after 53 minutes of waiting and they are confused and still do not know where my order is… then the manager cops an attitude and asked me and the waitress to take the conversation out of his kitchen… I explained I was not in his kitchen but tall enough to speak over the half door (saloon doors) and he again rudely said it is my kitchen and you need to get out. I kindly said his kitchen is obviously broken as every time I come here for a basic burger its an hour ordeal and his process needs refining at worst… I asked for a refund and again was told they apologize and it takes 20 minutes… I said thats incorrect as every time anyone suggest coming here my reaction is I do not want to waste an hour just to obtain a simple sandwich… even if I am the only customer… a frozen patty takes less than 20 minutes… numerous places in the area are specializing in burgers, fresh burgers that are much better and takes about 8 minutes… not 20 minutes… they do not have a BBQ pit so in Alabama I do not consider this a real BBQ or rib shack… its pretty much frozen canned BBQ with frozen burgers with lax service and management that works in crisis mode vs leadership mode… avoid this place and run fast away if they are busy… it will be like hotel California… you can order and wait forever…

Haven’t been in a while but when I did go it was very good. When I did go I was actually lookin for another place but was glad that I found it.

What a great corporate citizen! The food is solid, the service is excellent and knowing that they are quick to help our schools and our veterans is a major plus…

This is a chain people. To say they have the best ribs in town is a bit of a stretch but for a chain they are not half bad.
They claim to have Smoked Wings which if comparing to a couple other local places in town are a far cry from being smoked.
They have many different options for BBQ Sauce so that id always a plus.
Overall you won’t leave disappointed but you could leave underwhelmed.

Shane’s is a good, but not great BBQ place. I would give it 3 and a half stars. The BBQ chicken is better than the BBQ pork. The Mustard Sauce is especially good at livening up the BBQ, which can sometimes seem a little ho-​hum.
The restaurant has a nice variety of side items. Unfortunately, after several visits, none of them really stand out as must-​haves.
Shane’s participates in Plum Rewards, wich allows you to enter your phone number to receive text coupons and other offers. The staff is friendly and seems appreciative of its customers. The place has a bar, as well as TVs playing ESPN that are visible throughout the restaurant, but not a disruption to conversation.

Love to get Shane’s BBQ by the pound to go. We take it home regularly to make our own custom BBQ salads. We love the wings, ribs, chicken sand. etc… etc… Love the variety on the menu that keeps it from being the «same old same old» Thank you Shane’s for bringing us a little variety in the Oak Mtn. residential area.

I am quite happy this place is here. I got tired going to the same BBQ joints. And unlike the other options in the area, this restaurant has a lot more food items to choose from.
I’ve eaten here several times, and each time the service was really really good. Super friendly. Really casual atmosphere.
I’ve tried the chicken fingers tossed in sauce, the ribs, pulled pork, chicken sandwich, smoked wings, fried pickles, macaroni and cheese and fried okra.
The winner with this place is definitely the ribs. The ribs are so tender you just touch the bone and the meat comes off.
Everything else I tried was really good.
The only thing I wasn’t quite sure about was the fried pickles. They are a little too salty for my tastes.
There are a lot of meat choices, tons of sides to choose from, salads, desserts, wings (which btw their new smoked wings are a nice change from your everyday chicken wings), plates, sandwiches… lots of stuff.
PS, you have quite a handful of different sauces to choose from, and each one I have tried has been rather nice. And the prices are very very reasonable.

I’ve eaten here a couple of times and both have been good experiences. Lots of items to choose from and the staff is great about helping you narrow it down. The food is tasty, I can vouch for the grilled chicken tenders and BBQ. Yes, it’s in a strip mall, but don’t let that stop you from coming in. The interior is nice with lots of booths for seating.

Loved the ribs and the barbecue sauces! Nice meaty ribs, and so tender the meat easily pulled off the bone. I enjoyed the sweet original, hot, and spicy sauces. I had a side of fried okra and brunswick stew. The okra was a bit too breaded but was still good. The Brunswick stew was super.
