Park Moving & Storage

Welp, they came back. The lady with 20 yrs experience who claimed she was off by 50 lbs on her last two moves handed me an estimate for more than 2000 lbs over the verified weight I had on our last move. That’s almost 30% increase even though we’re moving back WITH LESS STUFF!!!
I did get some interesting info though. Basically Birmingham is a wasteland when it comes to moving services. You’re at the mercy of the fact that people don’t move from here or to here so the competition is a joke and there are limited trucks coming through on a regular basis. «It’s just out of the way» as I was told. Also – these guys are brokers. They don’t don’t take your load and deliver it. They take your stuff to their warehouse and store it till someone comes and picks it up on the way to wherever it’s going. What that means is that you are at their mercy and your delivery window is like 3 times most moving companies. What a joke.
