Service is attentive. Live music. Orchestra– full bands — jazz. Full live bands from guitars, trombones, drums, piano, to horns. Perfect for a date or even coming by yourself. Table sizes and sit down couches. Great for ending a date night or just evening wine down. No food — open bar. Drink prices reasonable. Wines Avg around $ 7.00. Comfortable setting. Different music different nights.

Been here a couple times now and ALWAYS leave more than satisfied with my experience. Service is great, love the couches facing the stage. Need to show up around 9 to claim the best spot and def by 10 to get a spot in general. If you like brass that can get a little funky, come see Ona

Ona’s is a place that I regret not going to sooner. You walk in to dim lighting and intimate tables with candles. There are a couple of couches as well. Being a live music venue, there is a cover, but nothing outrageous. The night I went, the band only started about 20 minutes late(9:50), so not too bad. It doesn’t house that many people, so get there early. Contrary to a previous review, we had 6 drinks between us and our tab was less than $ 40, so reasonably priced. The staff is friendly and the bathrooms clean. Ona himself came and spoke to us a few times. I will definitely be going back. The venue has a very intimate, personal feel, and the music is fantastic!

Had high expectations based on a few other reviews and wow was this place a disappointment. Long Islands Teas have a splash of coke for color only. Mine tasted like I was a drinking a regular coke. One of the reasons I order LIT’s, and by the way Ona’s claims this cocktail as a «Specialty» drink, is bang for the buck. There was very little liquor and a terrible mix of the coke to boot. The music, basically a joke. I made a comment to my date after about 30 minutes, when you start making fun of the band, it’s time to go. Big Daddy’s Band or something along those lines. Guitarist wasn’t too bad. Singing was below average. You’d think 7 people would have a big sound. Not so much. Needless to say I won’t be going back to give Ona’s a second chance. First impressions matter and there were too things I expected from a live music bar. Good spirits and good music. I got neither. Good thing the company I was with made up for it. :)

The music was great and the newly updated room is nice. There is a great ambience and a very mellow atmosphere. Ona came to our table and talked to us which was a treat. On the downside, the cover charge was $ 15 which wouldn’t be that bad if the drink’s were not so expensive. We paid $ 45 for a bottle of $ 7 wine. My bar tab was almost $ 80 and I had 4 drinks and split the bottle of wine. There will not be a next time.

One of the best Jazz Venues in the South! The ‘Blue Note’ of Birmingham, Ona’s has performances nightly (begins around 9:30PM). I was in town for a friend’s wedding, the night before most of the out-of-towners went out to Ona’s for a drink, taken there by our good friend Greg McReynolds. It was one of the most memorable nights at one of the best music clubs around. The house band palyed some R & B standards(Stax, Sam & Dave, Memphis Horns) that most will recognize and enjoy, stopping only to announce and celebrate a few wedding anniverssaries/birthdays in the audience. With each announcement the band paid the couple(or person) a personal compliment and gave them a bottle of wine(MD20⁄20 or Thunderbird), then played song just for them. We left reluctantly at close– having enjoyed some of the best music and some of the best service.
