Nude The Salon

I have been searching for years for someone to cut and color my long and very thick hair and after a million terrible (and expensive) cuts I took a chance on Nude after reading reviews here and I’m so glad I did! I asked for the first available appointment and saw Josh last December. I just went back for a second time and let him really chop my layers and for the first time in ages I’ve got a cut that I love and color that looks great! The atmosphere is great, the people who work there are very nice and super professional and the prices are very reasonable. I have lived in LA, Denver and now Boston and could never find the right person. My parents live in Birmingham so it looks like I’ll be visiting more often. I’ve convinced my mom to switch as well.

Very long over due review for this Salon! I’ve been going here ever since it opened but have followed for years many of the stylists before they all came together here.
I mostly see William for highlights and cuts.
William knows his stuff, he has mad skill, he’s very friendly and he’s always on time with his appointments with me. He listens to what you want and makes you leave with beautiful healthy looking hair. He never pushes any products they sell but if you ask questions about what products to use William and his staff are very knowledgable about them all.
I’ve also get blowouts from time to time. I love the way Marco makes a few waves in my hair while blowdrying… always looks amazing!
Every time I come here which is at least every 2 months I see nothing but perfection beautiful hair leaving the salon. The whole staff is friendly and skillful.
Parking is easy as there’s a covered parking structure next to the salon. The first 2 hrs are free which is a bonus!

I’ve been seeing Keith for about a year now. He is highy skilled, very technical in his cuts, and just a cool guy to know. I posted some pictures of my haircut today so you can see how nice it looks. This year I got more compliments than I ever had. I just look more put together with a great haircut.
Before coming to Nude and Keith I had never liked salons or had a haircut I really liked. I’m a low maintenance person but I was tired of generic looking hair so I bit the bullet. I am very glad I did.
Nude is located right next to a parking structure that offers 2 hrs of free parking. I really like the products they carry, the Weekender shampoo is my favorite. Also have Color Proof line which is great.

Keith is amazing! He is a perfectionist and is truly a master of his craft! I always appreciate the time he takes to tend to every little detail of my hair. He is also a wizard with color. I have a blonde streak on the underside of my hair, and last time I was in, Keith suggested adding some bright color to it. I agreed, thinking it would be a fun change and it couldn’t have come out any better. He did a pink to purple ombré that popped with color, yet was still appropriate for work. This is the place to go if you are looking for quality, professionalism, and especially if you want to achieve a unique style… they will help you bring your ideas to life!

Tried out the this place after hearing about William. While the actual haircut was good I do not feel like the overall experience was worthy of the price. I was not given the same treatment as the customers dressed up in their latest designer outfits, aka the typical Birmingham clientele. The actual blowdry was done by the assistant and much of my hair was getting ripped out and getting caught in the brush. This has never happened to me before (my hair is very easy to blowdry) and was quite an uncomfortable experience! I almost felt like leaving with my hair wet because the blowdry was too painful. When paying almost $ 100 for a haircut I feel like this service is totally unacceptable. Gave them one more try, felt rushed and once again not given the attention I deserve, so I decided to give up on this place and stick to my previous salon.

After moving to the area (you know, across Woodward) I called for an appointment after seeing good reviews on here… which can be hit or miss. In this case: HIT! When I spoke to the desk I requested someone who has or works best with curly hair. They suggested I meet with Janel.
Janel asked about how I style my hair, how long I spend getting ready, products I use, what would work on my skin tone/​face shape and the whole deal. After our consult she mixed up a great brunette shade to cover some wonky grays that are popping up on my part. She does a nice, long-​layered cut that works with my wavy hair.
And now, the best thing ever: Janel showed me how to do my own hair. Such a simple thing but with a quick curling iron tip my natural curl goes up 12 notches to looking, dare I say it, polished. The next appointment she went through the basics of the blow-​out. I can’t believe I’m 25 (again) and just now getting this level of service.
For B’ham the attitude is not at all pretentious, everyone from the front desk to the shampoo bowl is very accommodating and nice. The salon décor is industrial, cool, urban and the chairs are comfortable; magazine racks full and current. The prices are kind of tip off your stilettos steep so that would be the only thing holding back that fifth star.

I have been going to William for over ten years, through many moves to many different states, I always return to William. I haven’t been able to find another stylist that is able to perfect the cut and color of my hair the way that William does. I have recommended him to many many women with different hair styles and types and they have all raved, and then returned. He is absolutely fabulous. I am thrilled that he has opened his own salon and look forward to my next visit!

Having tried various salon’s/stylist’s throughout the years and Metro Detroit area this has to be my new favorite. The experience you will have at Nude is unlike any other salon. Being that Birmingham is already filled with salon’s this is the one that stands out and was needed all along. I’ve been with Marco since he first started styling. He’s always up on the latest trends and styling techniques. Not to mention he will flat out tell you if something isn’t going to work on your face/​head shape etc. He takes your wants/​needs into consideration but makes you into a true work of art. You won’t leave the salon feeling anything less than beautiful. For being so young it seems like he’s been in the business for years beyond his age. The staff is friendly, attentive and down to earth. Which is hard to find at most salon’s. If you’re looking for a new place to get the perfect cut/​color this is the place and Marco is your man. You will not be disappointed!

I’ve been a client of Janel’s for years and have NEVER been disappointed! She is friendly, knowledgeable, and extremely professional and talented. Prior to Janel, I was seldom satisfied with my hair cuts (always too long or too short) and the shape usually comes out wrong. But from the first time I went to her, she knew exactly how to cut it and I haven’t stopped going to her. I have referred many people to her and her ability to adjust to each individual client’s need has kept them coming back. Would highly recommend to anyone!
