I wanted to try a new restaurant tonight so hubby and I decided to check out MOOYAH!!! When we walked it we were greeted by all the worker’s WELCOMETOMOOYAH :) this place reminds me of five guys. So I decided to keep it simple. I got the mooyah with cheese, tomato and mayo, a small fry and a drink. They have lots of décor on the wall along with tvs. So we picked out our table and on our way I noticed this biggggg chalk board… I guess I kept looking at it while eating cause hubby said«I have a feeling your gonna write something on that board» hahha HECKYA! So the nice worker brought out our food and guess what… IT’S SERVEDON A COOKINGPAN lol so cool. OMGGGGGG the burgers were soooo yummy and I drench my fries in malt vinegar #HEAVEN Mooyah made me verrrryyyy happy tonight :)

This weekend my wife and I were having an awesome time enjoying everything Birmingham had to offer. After one of the many events we wanted a good burger. We were about to settle on one of the large chain burger joints, the one with the Red head little girl. Then I remembered, «MOOYAH has a downtown location», both of our faces lit up with excitement! This place is the go to spot for a great burger. We always get the MOOYAH burger with cheese and load it up with the toppings we love. The flavor is mind blowing and the fries are great! They offer lettuce burgers too. I really want to try one but every time I go I end up getting the wheat bun. Word of advice, if two of you are going, get the small order of fries. They really load you up and you’ll have plenty left over. I really like this place and I’m so glad they’ve added another location.

Hands down worst chocolate shake of my life. It tasted plain but flavored with chocolate syrup. Far from the hype of this place imo. Ate a 1⁄3 of my barely edible questionable freshness burger to survive and threw the rest out as the shake sits full to melt. They very well may have other shakes which are good, but I’m not willing to find out. Some friendly, cute, nice staff stuck working with lackluster ingredients.

The burger was good, but average, and fries were nothing to rave about. I didn’t think this place sets itself apart from others. With everywhere in Birmingham having craft burgers now it seems like, I don’t think I’ll be back.

Love love love their milkshakes! Soooo thick just like I like em! Burgers are big and juicy and even have turkey burgers and they were great. Sweet potato fries were really good.

Great burgers and many options to choose from. And the milkshakes will definitely make you wanna go back.

This place was REALLY disappointing. The prices are actually pretty high, considering what you get. The food was mediocre — the burgers were fine, but nothing special at all; the fries were exceptionally overcooked and yet still pretty greasy(I should have taken a photo of my fries — they sure didn’t look like the photo posted below)…but the real disappointment was the service. I ate here with my wife and kids, and while they got the kids burgers and fries orders correct, my and my wife’s orders were a total mess. we had to return them twice for them to get done correctly. If you’re running a «custom» burger place, you’ve got to get the custom burgers right. To top it off, none of us got our milkshakes with our lunch. We had to go up to the counter, again TWICE, in order for them to start making them. We received them just as we were finishing lunch — guess what — they were wrong. Unfortunately it was too late and we had to go, or I would have had them re-make the milkshakes as well. I did complain to the manager, and she gave me a couple of cards for free burgers on a return visit, but I’ll never go back.

When I visited my niece and nephew in Birmingham they requested that we go to this spot for lunch. As a spoiling aunt, I obliged. I’m not much of a burger person, but I ordered one of theirs after glancing at a few other people’s plates. The burger was actually really good. I ordered one of their chicken salads to go to have for dinner later that night and it was also really good and filling. When back in Birmingham to visit my family, I will definitely be sure to make a stop to Mooyah.

How about update your website before someone drives across town on NYD to find you are closed! How hard is that

Most boring shake and fries and burger ever. Good soft bun and nice add-on options but didn’t notice any moo yah sauce(as ordered) or seasoning on the fries; Reese’s shake was just a vanilla shake with occasional candy pieces. Bummer. Pricey at $ 11 for a kids meal(burger, fries, upgrade drink to shake).

This is a quality burger joint and a good price. It is a good lunch or casual dinner spot. You walk up to the counter to order. When your order is ready they will call you up to get it. There is a lot of seating. It is a long room. I ordered a Mooyah Burger with cheddar on wheat. For my toppings I chose; lettuce, relish, onions, jalapenos and spicy ranch. The toppings are free for the most part so you can really build what you want. I added a side of fries to go with it. The burger was tasty. I may have overdone it with the toppings though because the bun was quickly falling apart. I was happy with the overall taste and quality of the burger. The fries were pretty good too. I was tempted to try a shake, but I was so full after my meal I decided against that. They had some tasty sounding shake options available.

Mooyah has become my favorite place to get a burger! The beef has a very thin layer of crispiness on the outside and the meat is flavorful/juicy without being greasy. They have a fantastic selection of burger toppings. One order of fries is huge and comes to you hot and crispy. I see a lot of reviews comparing them to the guys burgers/fries, however guy’s burgers are a little greasy to me and their fries are not crisp, just limp. I like crisp! Each place is totally different so try them both out and see what you prefer. You may like both! Enjoy!

Good, solid place. We were driving through, back to ATL. Found this place on Unilocal.Other reviewers have it right — it’s solid. Good fries. Turkey burger was good. Hubby said beef burger was good. Fresh bread. Strawberry shake was tasty. Clean overall. If I lived in Birmingham, I’d go back.

Mooyah is a convenient burger joint right on the campus of UAB. Their burgers and fries are very reminiscent to that of Five Guys, and I can’t say that it was a memorable dining experience. It’s cool that they have milkshakes, but I didn’t try one when I went. Service is quick, and this place is bustling with grad students and health professionals during the lunch hour. Parking can be a little rough, so if you’re already in the area I recommend walking instead of driving.

One star, should be 0 was going to MooYah next door, parked in space beside building when an angry, loud«security guard» comes screaming after us telling us he will tow people who park here because it is not MooYah’d parking lot. Mind you there were over 35 spaces and Arby’s customers were taking up 12. Anyway so we move our car to the back and attempt to call Arby’s(they don’t answer) then we go to MooYah for good food. So on the way out we drive by the supposed tower and ask him what company he tows for, no answer. Where is his truck, no answer. The guard harassed several customers and pissed off many bystanders, this type of behavior drives away potential customers. MooYah was great, Arby’s was an arse

*Update: I’m editing this review. The fact that they’ve taken the veggie burger off their menu is absurd. This was my go-to for a quality veggie burger. Oh well. **Update #2: Restoring original review. Thanks for bringing back the veggie burger. — — - Previous 4-star review: This is a Five Guys with better vegetarian options. They make a really good homemade black bean burger. Then, like Five Guys, you can load it up with all sorts of things including jalapenos, fried onion strings, and mushrooms to name a few. Before I knew they fried the french fries in the same oil as fried chicken they use in their salads(if that’s a big deal for you), I’d order them routinely as they were some of the best fries I’ve had. They put in just enough cajun spices to it that you can taste it but it’s not overpowering. I’ve ordered in person and on their app, which is super convenient. They make everything to order once you arrive, so everything is very fresh. Everyone at the UAB location has been really nice and accommodating. I once showed up at 8:55pm and they were more than happy to serve me without any compromise in quality. Overall this is one of the better veggie burgers I’ve had. It just happens to be at a chain. I’ll keep coming here when I’m craving a quality veggie burger.

Finally made it out to this new place. I was very impressed, even with high expectations! The burger was high quality for a good price, albeit a bit too greasy. The sweet potato fries were some of the best I’ve ever had, and the sweet tea was solid. I also liked the atmosphere and variety of seating types. Glad you’re in the neighborhood, Mooyah! Pro tip: the portion sizes are enormous. I just get the kid’s-size meal, which is plenty.

Somewhere between Five Guys and Yeah! Burger. They have burgers, hot dogs, fries, shakes, and salads. Lots of toppings plus you have the option of a turkey or veggie patty. Great tasting burgers plus a tray full of fries. Nice place to spend your Blazer Bucks as well. Doesn’t look it from the outside, but this place has plenty of room with a nice, clean dining room. If you like burgers, give it a try.

First big turnoff, really slow ordering. There were two folks in front of us and it took almost ten minutes. Second big turnoff, burgers are only served well done. Third big turn off, burgers came out smushed comically thin and cooked to death — way past well done until the meat was gray and tasteless. The fries were way too salty. Bonus points for house baked bread and fresh toppings. The meal is served on a cool metal tray. Sadly, you can’t overcome the subpar meat. Mooyah is a bland and unforgettable clone of five guys. If you’re going to knock off a place, copy one that’s actually good.
