It is a very pleasant waiting room. Lots of natural light. Comfy seats, and plenty of reading materials. I was there early, and still took about 20 – 25 minutes passed my appointment time to be seen. I guess luckily, once I was taken back it was pretty swift and I was headed out. Dr. Bhuta was very kind, and seemed very knowledgeable in her field. I was well informed of my health, and felt more confident walking out. All in all it was a very good experience, and I will certainly go back again to this practice.

I decided to check this place out after doing some research online. Things got off to a slow start. I arrived on time for my 9 am appointment, but no one was out front to sign me in. After waiting for at least 5 min, I finally knocked and got someone’s attention. Once I got checked in, I didn’t have to wait too long before I was moved to the back and then Dr. Bhuta was very prompt in coming in. She was very friendly and I definitely got the feeling that she knew what she was talking about. Aside from the lack of attention up front, the overall experience was very good.

So I’ve been driving past the offices of McCool & Bhuta, ENT specialists for around 7 months now — ever since they opened. I have always been really intrigued by their name and have SOOO wanted to go there. But damn my good health — I haven’t had a reason to go. Until yesterday. I felt like CRAP — yea!!! So I called McCool & Bhuta’s and was able to get an appointment that day. I was soo excited when I pulled up. I had pictured their office to have some really swingin’ 70’s lounge décor. I’d walk in and the waiting room would be filled with the likes of George Clinton, Willie Nelson, Michael Phelps… Dr. McCool would walk out and say, «My name’s Dr. McCool, but you can call me Dr. Love…» At this point Barry White would start playing in the background and I would know I had chosen the best Dr. in Birmingham. Alas, it was nothing like this. In retrospect, that’s probably a good thing. The office was new, clean and well lit. The woman working the window was POLITE and helpful… and called me sweetheart alot… which I like. I barely had to wait at all… in fact I was the only one in the waiting room! Which I’m assuming is because they are new and people don’t know about them yet. Well, Dr. McCool totally lived up to his name. You know how a lot of docs will just breeze in the treatment room, not look at you and if you give your opinion on your condition or try to give them some background they will slowly look up from their chart(which in many cases I truly believe is just an empty manila folder) and give you a condescending look like you are actually bothering them? McCool doesn’t do that. He actually read the paperwork I had filled out and didn’t treat me like an idiot. He asked detailed questions about my medical history and my present ailment and gave me choices as to how to proceed with treatment. We went with a strong anti-biotic…“Would you like a steroid shot?” «Sure!» «How about some pain pills?» «Bring ‘em on!» I love you Dr. McCool — and if you ever have the need for an ENT — I would recommend him to ANYONE! Very attentive, very thorough and very nice.
