Everest Sushi

Seriously the BEST SUSHI I’ve ever had. I’m so glad this place is getting its own location! The owner and chef is so friendly and we loved meeting him. We tried 4 different rolls and they were all gone in about 5 seconds. Ask about the secret menu. The diplomat was my favorite. Followed closely by the wham bam Birmingham, super eel, and fire rolls!

My wife and I tried this place after hearing that it reopened and we were not disappointed.
We order the wham bam, spicy Asian rolls and a fire roll. Oftentimes when I order multiple rolls of sushi I can easily pick out a clear favorite. Each of the rolls I ordered here brought their own unique flavors that were equally delicious. They each had subtle flavors, none of which were too overwhelming.
I’d rank Everest above Sekisui in terms of taste and quality and above Jinsei in ‘bang for your buck’.

No frills but excellent sushi right inside the Blue Monkey.
This place is right inside Blue Monkey. Just ask the wait staff for a sushi menu. When you do, the sushi folks will come out and take your order. Being vegetarian, I asked if they could make me something vegetarian and they did not disappoint. The owner, Abi, asked me what I liked and would make something. He ended up making me an avocado, cucumber and fried yuca roll. Absolutely delicious. You get the sweet creamy avocado, the freshness of the cucumber and a great crunch with the fried yuca. I’ve been twice now and having 2 orders is about a meal for me. The only small quibble I have is that all the plates, soy sauce, etc are all in disposable containers as if it’s for takeout. I suspect this is because it’s a bit of an unusual business setup but it would feel more like a sitdown restaurant if it had real plates.
The sushi is made very well, the owner is great and someone I would want to support as a customer and it’s right in the Blue Monkey which has great drinks.

Was craving sushi all day so oh course I wanted to go to Blue Monkey where I know I can get the best sushi! This guy out did himself last night! The rolls where AMAZING ever better than last time. Now this aren’t those skinny rolls you pay an arm and a leg for no this are thick reasonable priced rolls. I tired a new roll called Beer Batter. I was in heaven! Next time that will be a MUST to order again. Can’t wait till he opens his own store I will be there all the time.
