Last fall, I had a mystic topaz set in silver. I am very pleased at how the pendant turned out. Also, I purchased two very affordable solid silver chains. Everyone who helped us were all great. Diamond World is affordable, personable, and they keep you informed of the progress of your piece.
My antique silver bracelet broke. Being amber and mid-​century, I didn’t want to just take it anywhere. Gary, the silver smith, is the best in the Birmingham area. Also, the pricing is very fair. The owner is very kind and I enjoyed discussing gems and crystals with him. Diamond World is my go-​to source for repairs, appraisals, and purchases.

I took a diamond engagement ring here to be re-​appraised since I purchased it online. The appraisal was incomplete (no metal appraised — he believed it to be white gold and wrote that in the appraisal instead of the actual metal of platinum, telling me after I asked that his metal guy wasn’t on staff for the appraisal), cost me more than quoted over the phone, and dropped the clarity rating down a point, leading to an appraisal to less than ½ the original appraiser’s estimated value. Mark the ‘graduate gemologist” was very condescending, not even aware of the particular shape of the diamond. Silly complaint, but the store’s décor is pretty terrible and also smelled like stinky diapers on my visits. I would recommend in it’s stead taking your jewelry to Levy’s for appraisals — they are honest and in no means pushy. I will not be going back to Diamond World for anything ever again.
