This location was eerily quiet when I rushed in on Sunday night ready to play my little version of Supermarket Sweep: in, out, all the bargains, no collateral damage. I nearly thought I had walked in on a rapture event… not a single other shopper was here. If you know the GreenSprings location, you know this is really weird as that place has people banging on the doors 5 mins after they lock. That being said, I love the hustle & bustle! I missed it! But that’s not the only reason for the –1 star: this location doesn’t seem to carry some of my staples: unsweetened almond milk(or any almond milk), gnocchi, or a few specialized cheeses that I never have a problem finding on GreenSprings. Maybe the folks in Trussville beat down the doors for the very items I prioritize too but I think they just aren’t on the menu. Further, I love my GreenSprings staff and the folks here seemed all bent out of shape for no good reason… Bummer. Neither of these things ding Aldi as a whole but do make me ever so much more grateful for the Aldi closest to my home.

I love this Aldi’s! The staff are always super nice. They have a good selection of fruits, meats and specialty items, too. It can get crowded sometimes so I try to go later in the evening to avoid the 5:00 rush crowd.

I like aldi, but I wish it was a little bigger. It gets really crowded, so just be wary of going right after work or at the first of the month. Great prices on everything. You will not find everything on your list, though.

I love aldi. They definitely have the lowest prices across the board of any grocery store I frequent. This location is probably my favorite over pelham and greensprings. It’s convenient to my work and I’ve found it to be the least crowded of the 3 stores. Aldi has started carrying organic produce in the last year which pushes them to 5 stars for me. Even outside of organic, there are plenty of cleaner inorganic stuff that I pick up as well… bananas, avocados, lemons, oranges, etc. Lastly, the 2 cashiers I see most often are fast as lightning, so hopefully aldi is taking good care of them.

Aldi is an awesome grocery shopping experience. It is very different from what most are used to — bring quarters for the shopping carts, and bring your own bags to bag your own groceries(or buy some for a few cents in store). They only accept cash and debit cards. No credit or checks. There are no name brands in the store — much like Trader Joe’s if you’ve ever been. But they specialize in making their brand taste just as good(if not better) than the brands you are familiar with already. Take your usual shopping list and take a chance… you won’t be disappointed. They only carry items that move quickly, but you’d be surprised how many of your staple groceries that includes. I can normally get about 90% of what’s on my shopping list here, and I save a good 40−50% over what I would spend at some place like Walmart. And take a chance on their special buys — every week they carry additional specialty items that are only available for a limited time. They are always really good! I like the seasonal German foods! –Amber’s Hubby

I love the ease of this store. It’s quick to get in and quick to get out. Cash or debit/credit only. No checks. They don’t bag your groceries, just put them back in the cart for you. It’s a bag-your-own kinda place. So either bring your own bags, pilfter for the occasional box laying around the store, purchase bags there, or go free-style in the trunk. Like I said, it’s a bare-bones operation with mostly private label brands. With few exceptions, I’ve enjoyed their items though. Their granola cereals are wonderful, and who can turn down a gallon of milk for $ 1.49 in this economy. Walmart doesn’t even offer a ½ gallon for that price. Their Fit & Active brand has a fairly large selection of items for the health conscious and they’ve all hit the mark on taste. Their produce selection is adequate, but don’t go looking for fresh herbs or unusual items. Their pack of tri-colored peppers is a steal!!! They close at 8 pm and are closed all day on Sundays.
