Bates Troy Laundry and Cleaners

I had a linen standard pillow sham to be repaired; it was approximately a mm size tear in the sham that needed to be sewn. I brought the item to Bates Troy/​for professional repair because of the delicate material and the location of the tear was/​is obvious. Upon drop off the customer service associate (at the counter) informed me that there would be some visibility of sewing in the repair, which I understood. Upon pick up however, over a week later, there were brown finger print marks on the white linen material (not present at drop off), the size of the hole was tripled, and a piece of iron-​on tape was put on the FRONT side of the material/​sham (though not secured, as it seemingly had not been ironed in place). I showed the customer service representative, who informed me that the tape could be removed and would «come right off in the wash». I removed the tape in front of her and she responded by saying «oh», as she saw that the tear had not been repaired. The other service representative stated that the repair clearly had not been done. In addition to waiting a week-​and-​a-​half for the repair to not be completed, the sham is further damaged and the product was given to me without any acknowledgement of their errors.

Quite expensive. $ 3.25 for a shirt (laundry). $ 7.50 for pants (dry cleaning). Too expensive for Binghamton.

Good customer service. They open at 7 am which is a plus for me. I had my business suit dry cleaned and I needed it rushed. If you want to get it in 24 hrs, they charge you 10% of the total which is not bad.
