DON’T LIVEHERE. This was the one decision I regret throughout my college years. Management is disgraceful. No one attends to any concerns you may have, which is extremely concerning considering this is supposed to be one’s home. In the midst of medical school applications, I also had to deal with a blackout that led to staff members entering my apartment without prior notification and emptying the contents of my fridge(again, without notification before OR afterwards). The building looks nice on the inside– or at least it did before the new paint job. The new management is actually worse than Campus Advantage. I have emailed the new manager 4 times with no response. I tried setting up a meeting with him and instead of opening his office to me, asked what it was in regards to. We have yet to meet. Every person who comes in for a tour will be warned by me, along with every other resident whose favorite past time will be sitting around the living room, rattling off why 20 hawley is absolutely the worst place to live at Binghamton University. And yes, you may quote me on all of this.

My daughter lived there for 9 months paid for 12 months $ 800.00 per month for one bedroom in a five bedroom apartment. The fire alarm would go off in the middle of the night and students had to evacuate. Once there was an actual electrical fire and they had to stay in a hotel. The underground parking is a great idea but don’t count on getting a space, with that you’ll have to fend for yourself, an pay for parking else where have fun in the snow and late at night. The management is never available and not helpful when they are.

20 Hawley Street recently underwent a change in management. The owner took notice in light of recent events it seems, and fired the General Manager as well as moving to a new management company, Peak Campus.(The old one was Campus Advantage.) This definitely improves my opinion on the place, but I will wait to see how the new management fares before openly recommending it.
