No 1 Szechuan Garden

Decided to try this place out and regret it! Never tasted Chinese food like this before. Not your conventional Chinese food. The chicken wings are more like what you’d get at KFC but have a very odd taste like the rest of the food. Was sick all night and most of the following morning.

New owner for this neighborhood Chinese fast food restaurant. Not much has changed as far as I can tell, besides the food. They are now featuring Sichuan style dishes, I ordered a Dan Dan noodle vegetarian version and it was really good. I also ordered the spicy mushroom that taste very good too. The ingredients are pretty fresh and I believe they don’t use msg, so my body felt good after eating the food.

Ordered online during a move to Billerica and ordered WAY too much food being WAY too tired. Had some special requests such as white rice instead of pork fried. Did NOT check the giant bag before we left the store only to find out at home, tired, hungry and achy, that not only did we not get white rice, the pork fried rice has this weird-​ass cabbage in it that I’ve never experienced before. It was also doused in soy sauce to the point that it was pretty bad. Since we didn’t check before leaving we figured it was bad juju to call and complain, so I’m not sure what they would have done had we asked for a re-​do. The other food we got wasn’t half-​bad, but wasn’t very good, either. Sadly, this is NOT a quick-​fix Chinese food place we will frequent again.

Great food, and they deliver too.
I really like the Combination White Fried Rice and the combination Egg Foo Young.

Ordered from them last night for delivery now in their favor they send a large quantity of food for the money. The sad thing is it really wasn’t very good we ordered General Gau’s Chicken and chicken lo mein along with egg drop soup and egg roll. The Egg drop soup had was thick but also had a strange tast to it (I think they put bacon fat in it). The General Gau’s chicken had little flavor except the chicken tasted a little on the old side. The lo mein was old and greasy and way too much MSG. This place might be under new management but that does not mean they changed chefs or cooking.
My Advise — find another place for Chinese food — or get frozen and cook it yourself

Tried Li’s out tonight. Many Chinese take out restaurants have failed in this location… The location is good for take out, that is why I think so many try there. Unfortunately they didn’t have what it takes, until now. Li’s food was cooked with fresh ingredients and tasted great. I rarely finish a whole plate of take out american style Chinese food but this was awesome.
I don’t do many reviews but I wanted to try getting the word out for these guys so hopefully they can survive where others haven’t. I’ve tried every Chinese take out place around and this will be my new regular spot.
Another note, they don’t use MSG in their food… which I think is pretty awesome.
