We used to stay here quite often. We won’t be coming back. The sheets were obviously not laundered. There was hair on the sheets and on the pillows. And th e comforter /bed spread had gunk on it! Gross! The tv remote was covered in some type of crust. And the coffee maker and microwave were disgusting. Just nasty. Luckily we brought extra blankets. We threw the comforter off the bed, put tshirts on the pillows and slept on top of the sheets. Uncomfortable is an understatement. Oh and hopefully you don’t have a diesel truck parked by your room. The guy that had his diesel truck ran his motor for over 30 mins and the fumes go right into the front ventilation! Felt like we were getting smoked out at 730am!!! Next time we’ll sleep in the car :-/

Typical clean, but very outdated motel. A good place to crash if you are planning an early hike or fishing trip in Big Pine. Prices are reasonable and the manager/owner is pleasant. Each room has a color TV!!! See if you can catch an episode of «Murder She Wrote».

Wow! What a wonderful surprise. This place has so much charm. We were on the road and wanted to stop before the Ancient Bristlecone Pine Forest, and this place is perfect to pull off the road for the night. The lady at the front desk was so friendly and the room is clean and simple. The room has a small coffee maker and mini fridge and there is a microwave outside near the ice machine. Big Pine is a small town, so eat dinner early if staying here. The Big Pine Motel is near The County Kitchen. We didn’t get there early enough tonight, but they have a great breakfast and we plan to head there after we check out in the morning.

I visited the Big Pine Motel over Valentines weekend. The best time i have ever had. The room was perfect. The prices were perfect. The hospitality was absolutely AWESOME! The room has a small fridge. A sink out back to clean your daily catch. We were also able to grill the fish in the center court yard. They make you feel at home. If i could add more stars i would.

Spontaneous road trips require big motel risks but not in this case! The manager at the front was very kind, helpful and offered a lot of local tips on hot springs and hiking spots. The motel room was very clean and had all the essentials(fresh linens, towels, spotless bathroom, tv, coffee maker, mini-fridge.) I would definitely recommend staying here.

Spotless rooms, friendliest hospitality and dog friendly. Thank you Ligaya! Room has small frig and coffee maker. Hot shower. And there’s a microwave, full size frig and freezer in ice machine room. There’s also a place to clean your fish outback, and grills and patio furniture in the center courtyard area. And you can keep your fish in the freezer :)

My boyfriend and I were driving through looking for a place to stay near the Bristlecone Forest. Bishop is about 20 minutes north and we were trying to make our drive home tomorrow as short as possible. If this is your stop, this hotel has the essentials. Tidy room, clean sheets, good shower pressure, and the gentleman at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. *no blow dryer in our room but maybe the front desk has one if you ask?

I really wanted to stay at the Big Pine Motel after a long weekend of camping. I had my two small dogs with me, so I was excited to see that they were pet-friendly. When I called to check for vacancies, the lady said absolutely they had space. I double-checked to make sure the dogs were ok, and she said no problem. She asked when we would be there, and I told her we were just about to stop in Bishop for dinner, and then we would be on our way, but we were going a bit slow because we’re towing a trailer. Suddenly, it was, «oh, no, we don’t have any parking and you won’t be able to park on the street either because it’s one– way something something something try the Bristlecone. They have parking and accept pets too.» Click. I’m pretty sure we could’ve solved this problem if you hadn’t been in such a hurry to tell us it wouldn’t work.

This is my first stay at this motel and to my surprise, it was very clean and the bed was comfortable. We liked spacious Room 6 with the two beds. The room had a small refrigerator but no microwave. No hair dryer in the room but I did not ask for one at the desk. The free wifi was very slow and stopped working during part of the stay. The air conditioning worked well but it was a bit loud especially while sleeping. Housekeeping service was good and provided extra towels as we needed them. The outside grassy area with BBQ was very nice. The Food Mart at the Chevron Station had good breakfast burritos that can be ordered for pick up. The Mobil station across the street had a convenience store that had sandwiches, snacks, firewood, and other handy items if we needed if we were camping. The view of the Sierra’s was wonderful. I would return to this place if I were traveling through again.

Score another one for the dog lovers! This is what a quaint small town drive-up motel should be like and scores a solid 3+ rating. Clean, friendly staff, nice grounds, wi-fi, and pets welcome. Yea! Our dog«h a t e s» going potty anywhere but home so we need a good amount of space to take her out and there is a nice little strip of lawn on the side for her to take her time and do her business. There is a bigger central lawn area that has lots of fun lawn furniture and clean BBQ’s for guests to use, but we respect common areas and try and keep her off the main areas. The owner was friendly and we had no complaints.(Okay, so someone broke the coffee pot ‘on’ switch in our room before us and tried to put it back into place so I had no coffee in the morning — but that was the fault of the loser before us, not the owner) So, if you’re going to stay in Big Pine, this is the place. We drove by the few other options and from the outside at least, it looked like we got the best of what’s available.
