I rolled in here on a Friday at 4:50, almost closing time, with an overheating Subaru and a panicked driver (me). Willie, Jessie and Rolando calmed me down and told me they would take care of the car. My bigger problem was that my friend and I were supposed to be 40 miles away at a retreat in Forest Falls. How to get there? Well, Rolando stepped up and offered to drive us when he got off work at 5:00. Who does that? He got us to our destination safely, they fixed the car and everyone was happy. Plan on returning here in the future. Thank you everyone! Especially Rolando!

DONT GO HERE!!! Theses guys charged me for stuff that wasn’t damaged. They wouldn’t provide me with the replacement parts that they claimed were damaged and needed replacing. I had no choice but to pay them because I was stuck in Big Bear until my vehicle was fixed. Avoid this place.

My wife had a tire blow out on her BMW while staying in Big Bear for the week. The tire was history and we needed to replace it before she could head back down the mountain. The guys at Mercer were great to deal with over the phone and quickly found the replacement tires we needed and ordered them for us. The process was easy and friendly. The told me they can get the tires by Friday and mount them Saturday morning. That worked perfect for us and we went for it. Pricing was competitive with tire stores down the mountain and the service was great. They even called me Friday to confirm they received the tires and let me know they were ready to go. Although they were busy Saturday, I was in and out in less then an hour. Well done Mercer. I’ll be back again when the need arises.

Came up to big Bear Lake from Santa Ana. Part way up I picked up a mail in my RR tire. By the time I got to the Chevron station in Big Bear Lake, it was basically flat.
The guy at the Chevron station recommended Mercer’s in Big Bear City. It was a good recommendation. Within 10 minutes after we got there, the mechanic started on the tire — plugged it, aired it up, done. Total time 20 min, total cost $ 10.
Can’t beat that with a stick!

Good quality and honest repair work. Has gone above my expectation of approval. Has supplied tires from my work vehicle to my recreational vehicles. Honesty is hard to come by in this world nowadays and this is one shop that will give you honesty whether its good news or bad. Will return

Friendly and quick to help. We were stuck in Big Bear needing our tire replaced and this shop had more of a tire selection on site then the other location we tried. Staff was nice, prices weren’t too bad and the best part was we did not have to wait too long. I would have given this place a 5 stars, but I made the mistake if going into the bathroom. Yuck! BUT it is a garage I am not sure what more I could have expected. Service and staff were great!

Went in yesterday for some work on a car that had been sitting for 3 years. They did the work for a very reasonable price, told me what else was needed, and had the car ready when promised. For most area’s it would be good, for Big Bear it was exceptional. I’ll go back.

My review has two parts. One involves tire rotation and brake inspection, the other involves a flat repair at the same visit. I went to Mercer“s for a tire rotation the
Wednesday prior to Memorial Day weekend. The tire dept. was empty so I got right in. I told the man rotate tires and torque lug nuts to a certain value to prevent overtightening and rotor warpage. While the tires were off he noticed some weird wear marks on one of the rotors. He had the brake man look at it and he told me that I needed new front brakes. I told him i’ll take care of it later. When the wheels went on the tire guy used his air impact gun full speed to set the lug nuts, then he used his torque wrench to set the value. This, to my knowledge and other mechanics know how is the wrong way to do it. When you mount a wheel you need the torque wrench to do the majority of the tightening, that is how you get an accurate torque to each lug nut. Very unprofessional. When I went to the chevy dealer to have my front brakes done he said that I have 50−60% left on my pads, I don’t need brakes! They just saved me about $ 600. He also said the wear marks on the rotor was nothing to worry about.
The flat repair involves the same person. He took out the tube and inspected the tire for debris that would cause my inner tube to go flat. He found nothing and installed the new tube. $ 9.00 good price I thought. I went to use the wheel two days later and it was flat again. I took it back again and this time the same guy took the tire off the rim and noticed that the rim was full of rust, that is what caused the flat. Why didn’t he notice this the first time. This is a tire shop! I took the rim home, cleaned it up and returned for a new tube. The owner was there and I explained what happened to him and he said that «we don“t charge for labor» and said the new tube is $ 10. I was a little upset at that moment so I paid him and left. I guess that extra dollar was for his holiday pay! He should have given me that second tube gratis. That was not my fault that the mechanic didn’t notice the problem in the first place. And this is a tire shop? I had to go back four times for this.
I have purchased tires there in the past, but never again. And they didn’t reset the tire pressure monitors either. If you go bring a towel to clean the grease off of the steering wheel. You’ll need it!

One of the worst auto centers in the Big Bear Valley. I have seen customers leave with their tires not bolted on the wheels and they end up going back again and again with nothing fixed… this is why their parking lot is always full. They do not know how to work on cars and most people are too stupid that they seem to go back to get the same problem fixed over and over again. You would be stupid to pull into their parking lot for help because you will never get it. They charge too much and they are just horrible.

This shop offers honest and quality automotive repair at fair prices. I have used them to repair my vehicles for over 10 years and continue to go to them for tires, brakes, oil changes and general repairs.
