Trinity River Rafting

Wow!!! We had an amazing trip. Took my 3 girls (twins 18, 16 year old) on a trip. Glenn was outstanding!!! The Trinity was flowing at 4100cfs. Highly recommend this outfitter!!!

Dave and Dana are da bomb! Dana very chatty and friendly, Dave reserved, friendly, and knowledgeable. They aren’t out to get rich, just two people that love living in god’s country and enjoy sharing their slice of heaven with anyone wanting to raft down the Trinity. Highly recommended.

Water rafting was extremely fun. Our guide, Bill, was very energetic and friendly. He’s very patient and taught us a lot of things. It was our first time water rafting and I recommend anyone who is able to do it, do it. They also provide food if you decide to water raft for the full day and the lunch was delicious. Dana made amazing salsa and prepared the food. It was very well organized.

Update:
I have been contacted by a former employee who warned me that this business has a dubious licence at best, and employs people who have assaulted female colleagues on the job and are facing criminal charges for this behavior.
It is not my habit to spread rumors; I think the credibility of the message I received today warrants a further warning to anyone else considering this business as a choice.
Further, I have been told that attempts to bring employees of this business to justice have been complicated by the fact that local law enforcement seems to have refused to investigate assault and other criminal complaints against Trinity employees in the past.
I’d really go elsewhere.

This was only my husband and my second time river rafting, and first time taking our 13 yr old daughter. I was very nervous but the guides are awesome. Very safe, and LOTS OF FUN!!! did not feel rushed and the scenery is beautiful.

Our group of 10 people from age 15 – 58 had the best time with Trinity, we started out stuck in traffic so we were about 40 min late, they were so nice to us on the phone and said no problem we will wait for you., very accommodating. We had two boats and our guide Justin made this trip amazing! He was so extremely knowledgable of the history and plant life as well as the river itself. What an amazing guy! I would suggest this to everyone 6 of us had never been before and it was so much fun! Everyone loved it! Loved the stories Justin was sharing!

My son and I are class IV kayakers — we wanted to see Burnt Ranch Gorge to determine if it was a run we could do. Well, we not only picked the best outfitter but we also picked a whitewater run that exceeded our every expectation.
Dave and Dana were tremendous and our guide Ben helped us nail every line and make the must-​make moves in the class IV & V sections. When we looked back up we could see why the moves were must-​make. We ran this section at about 1750 cfs.
If you want a tremendous ride in the Gorge or on Pigeon Point (Slot, Hell Hole, etc) you could not choose a more friendly outfit.
The Trinity is just a beautiful place to be. Whether you are in an IK, hard shell or raft, you need to get on this river with these folks.
We may come back to kayak the Gorge but probably at a smaller flow :)

Had a great day rafting with my family July 25. Billy was our guide, he was a great guide. We were on the water all day, they brought us lunch and we stopped many times for swimming, floating down some rapids and jumping off a 20″ rock (which took a little coaching from Billy but I did it and I’m old). We will definitely be back!

My kids went rafting this past Thursday and Ben was their guide. He was so awesome and the kids had such a good time. They ranged in she from 11 – 20 and Ben really was in tune with them and making sure they were all safe. No one fell out and the pictures I have off the CD we bought were amazing! We will definitely be back next year when we take our yearly family camping trip to trinity canyon lodge.

My husband and I went up to visit my family. We decided go on a rafting trip with trinity river and Dana was so nice and accommodating. We loved our guide, he made the experience so memorable. We can not wait to do it every time we come up and make it a whole family experience.

I would give the company a 4 *. The guide was v good, helpful and made our experience nice. All the things were as promised (equipment, jackets, helmet, boats) and there was no fuss.
The not-​so-​good part was that this river does not have that great rafting capabilities. We took a half-​day tour but we must have found maybe 5 – 6 rapids and we hardly got wet as such. Great for starters, but I think the experience was not that cool. It was more of a slow-​oldy trip.

Somehow river rafting eluded me and my family until we traveled to the Trinity River on July 4^th, 2012 for the fun, exciting and memorable experience we had always come to expect. During the adventure as we were about to enter a series of exciting Class three rapids, a car on adjacent Highway 299 lost control and careened into the guardrail. Amid the gut wrenching sound of a screaming young girl up on the roadway, our guide and the guide of another boat calmly took control of the situation. One guide named Matt was an EMT so as a first responder, he helped the accident victims to survival. The guide of our boat, also named Matt, stayed with both boats and calmed us all down while we waited for the local rescue personnel to take over. Understandably, one of the passengers wanted to leave and walk back to his car, but our Matt convinced him that staying with the boat and riding the remaining rapids would be the best way for all of us to move on from the area. (I believe our guide also had legal responsibility to keep us together in the boats.) So after we all learned that the victims would survive their horrific accident, our two boats rode the remainnig rapids. For me and my family, we paddled with feelings of relief, joy, and exhilaration. Given what happened, I want to let others know that the two guys named Matt who worked this stretch of river that day showed exceptional leadership skills with a coolness under pressure, and a high regard for the safety and well being of everyone — whether in the water or on land. The photos taken of us as we smashed through a rapid called Hell Hole were classic (two in our family of four fell out!). The whole sequence was captured in the photos so we happily bought the compact disk. Our experience was worth every penny.

This company is simply amazing. I was freaked out a bit about taking my boys down class 3 rapids and I research everything to death. haha. After looking at all the rafting companies in the area (and there are a lot), Trinity is far and away the best. Nate was an AWESOME guide and the whole team made the trip so much fun! We jumped off rocks, swam in whirlpools, etc and even the lunch was great Really top notch and worth every cent! Did I mention everyone on the team is trained in swift water rescue? That did it for me! Thanks guys for memories that will last us a lifetime!!!

Lot’s of experience here which is good when running a technical section of river like Burnt Ranch Gorge (class v). They ran a safety boat ahead of us on all the major sections and we would eddie out and scout upcoming major sections. Beautiful river with some kick a@# rapids. Would recommend running it!

Awesome Experience! We rafted with Trinity River Rafting for the second time over the 4^th of July weekend. Both trips have been wonderful experiences. With Trinity River Rafting, safety comes first, but not at the expense of fun. Our first trip (½ day on the Trinity) two years ago was the first time any of our family had rafted and our guide Nate ensured that we all knew how to raft safely, including my husband who is not a strong swimmer. This year, we took advantage of the late snow melt and our guides Glen and his son Ben were a great team to raft with. Glen pointed out a lot of native birds, vegetation and we even drifted by a deer sipping from the river.
All of our guides made sure that we didn’t miss out on the fun of rafting. By the end of both trips we were wet, we were tired and we were ready to do it all over again.
Thank you Trinity River Rafting, we will be back.
