Dr McCullough combines a high degree of expertise, genuine concern for his patients, and a willingness to spend the time necessary to provide the best care he can. I highly recommend him as a primary-care physician. His team tend to follow his example in person, so one’s overall experience at the office is extremely positive. My only criticism, as has been noted elsewhere, is that his organization seems to have difficulty responding to telephone calls in a reasonable time. Normally, this would cost a review at least one star, but so superlative is the actual patient experience — the important bit that Dr McCullough provides as a physician rather than as an administrator — that the five-star rating stands. That said, the phone response behavior really does need attention.

Dr McCullough was my husband and my PCP. We both had negative experiences with him. I recently had a second sister die of cancer. I called up Dr McCulloughs office because I was nervous and wanted to see if there was anything I should be doing. First of all I left 3 voice messages before a nurse called me back. She was very cold and said she would talk to the doctor and get back to me. Three days later she called and said the doctor said to eat plenty of fruit and vegetables! True story! My husband recently got a referral from Dr McCullough to go see a surgeon regarding knee replacement. After that consultation my husband decided to go with the surgeons recommendation of knee replacement. He scheduled the pre-op visit and also the surgery. He call Dr McCulloughs office to get another referral(a month before the appointment) Three or four days before the appt. the surgeons office called saying they never got the referral. Aside from the frustration of having to leave messages at Dr McCulloughs office with no call back(3 times) My husband left work to stop by the office to find out what was going on. They said that his insurance didn’t cover that surgeon. Very tedious story cut short, that surgeon was covered by our insurance, Dr McCullough refused to give him another referral. Why would they give one referral and then refuse more. Dr McCullough called giving my husband some of «his surgeons» phone numbers. This was the day before the preop visit! Changed PCP and am very happy now.
