I just found this place last week. Great sushi, probably the best I have ever had. Great service as well. I will be coming back!

My friend and I were planning on going to Kiyono which is a couple blocks away from here but it was crowded and we would’ve had to wait an hour. We wanted to try something new so we walked down Beverly Drive and we ended up here! Best decision ever! The rolls literally melted in my mouth and the rice was so soft and warm. I got the avocado roll and cucumber roll and both were amazing. I also highly recommend the garlic edamame, it was tremendous. We sat outside because the restaurant was boiling, I thought I was going to faint! Other than that, we had a great waiter and even better food!

Found this joint randomly and it was such a pleasant surprise. Food and drinks were delicious. We had the risotto, 3 kinds of toro(they melt in your mouth), cod(excellent: crispy on the outside and buttery flavorful inside). Some other appetizers were good as well, not impressive but good.

Delicious… Ordered the blue fine burrata with truffles, Leo roll, crispy risotto, salmon nigiri with truffle oil and sea salt, garlic edamame… Everything was so yummy. The service was super quick and sweet, and the place itself is great!

I’ve been to Yojisan a couple of times now, and it probably my favorite sushi spot in Beverly Hills. I love the clean modern vibe of the restaurant, and the staff is very nice and welcoming. On our most recent outing, my friend and I had the crispy risotto with spicy tuna, seaweed salad, salmon and avocado hand roll, eel and avocado roll, and the Drago roll. While the prices for the specialty rolls are up there, it’s worth it because the fish is super fresh and the rolls are all amazing. I love that they also have brown rice options for the dishes! Each time I come to Yojisan, I have a great time. Can’t wait to come back soon!

Food was ok. Portions were small for the price. Eggplant appetizer was like 2 oz for $ 7.50. A few vegetarian options which was still more than most Japanese restaurants here which focus on flesh only. Not sure will go back. Open later than other restaurants.

I have a genius recommendation for this place that will guarantee a full house: get better wait staff and a more engaging, charming, interested(insert other pleasant adjectives here) hostess. Because the food and space are so stellar, they need better support staff which would make this place more popular. As it was, we were the only guests here on a 9:30p on a FRIDAY night on a street that sees a lot of foot traffic. The Chef himself is charming and kept checking up on us throughout the night. My rookie mistake was not sitting at the bar when I knew we’d end up ordering omakase. I know I would’ve given them another star had we sat there. Instead, I was taken by whimsy because the dining room is so pretty, with its bamboo and plant-lined ceilings. But the wait staff ruined it by being inaudible, clueless, and generally a mess. They had no answers to my questions. They weren’t hard questions either. It was like, hey are their tiers to your omakase?(Blank stare). Can we get water please?(Befuddled expression). And they confused our martini orders even when I said it twice and pointed it out on the menu. This happened the whole blooming night. Such a pity because like I said, the food was awesome. Pairing burrata with blue fin tuna?! Crazy delicious. And the eel and foie gras hand roll? Inspired. And the toro and sushi rice wrapped in a leaf almost made my heart stop. But while the food was so on point we were distracted by asking for more things and trying to figure out ingredients because our waiter was so shy, it was awkward. At the end of the night, we were rewarded with three types of desserts, the chocolate green tea soufflé being the standout. But for this price point, I expect the whole dining experience and sadly, this lovely little spot falls short. I don’t think we’ll be back.

I am excited that I found this hidden treasure! I came here on a Sunday night and it wasn’t packed at all. It is nice to be able to go out to dinner at this part of town and not always having to worry about reservations. I love the flavors here and how fresh the sushi is. Started off with: garlic edamame– perfect if you don’t plan on kissing anyone after this meal. I love garlic, so the stronger the better. Great balance of garlic and soy flavor blue fin buratta– you read it right! Buratta with your raw fish. This is absolutely mind blowing. The yuzu and the olive oil was the perfect complement to make this dish light and ever so refreshing. Then you get a tangy texture from the buratta which is then finished with a fresh bite of blue fin tuna and a hint of fresh truffle. This dish is so inventive and can’t believe the talent in this dish. The flavors are so complex and all I can think about is coming back for more. Needle fish suhi– never had it and actually really enjoyed it. This fish is very mild and it has a harder texture which was really nice. It was balanced with a hint of yuzu which brought an additional layer of flavor to the fish. blue crab and cucumber– I didn’t notice the cucumber, but loved that this was almost pure blue crab. You can’t taste any mayo and that’s what I love. I love being able to just taste the blue crab and nothing else. grilled sea bass cut roll: This dish is something you won’t see at a sushi restaurant. Grilled sea bass smothered in a roll and perfectly mashed up with avocado and spicy mayo. It was innovative but yet it was a nice balance. Thank you Yojisan and I can’t wait to be back for another round of innovative dishes!

OK where to start… The whole experience will definitely spoil me forever when it comes to eating SUSHI. FISH was fresh and uniquely executed by Sushi Chef Yoji… We were there for my sis’s 40th B-day Celebration. We ordered the OMAKASE — CHEF’S SPECIAL A few of the plates that I can remember are: —White fish with Truffle —Toro: raw and seared —Grilled Octopus w/Tuna tartar —Array of Assorted Sushi —Soft Shell Crabs —Miso Soup w/Clams —Eel Hand Roll —Delectable Desserts Plate There were more that I really cannot put my finger on, but they were all OUTSTANDING. It was so well PREPARED for us that even my 12 and 13 year-old were able to eat everything that was presented to us. No complaint from them at all… The list above are a few that I have pictures of and it was before the 4 bottles of KEN(sake) that we had. SAM, our Server was so gracious and nice… He did his best to cater to us and our needs. Even when we were loud and frowned upon by other Guests at the restaurant. if you want good SUSHI, go to your neighborhood Sushi Bar… but if you want an… EXPERIENCE !!! Drive yourself to YOJISAN and let Chef Yoji-san surprise your PALATE… LUV this PLACE !!! :-)

Rarely do I dine for sushi as much as I’d like to, but when I do I want the best. I first had the pleasure to taste test Yojisan Sushi at a Trust & Estate event and I was in dire to try more. First impression was cleanliness, precision, and quality. For just a Trust & Estate event I was surprised by the fantastic quality of fish they served for us — a trusting sign. To follow up to my tasting experience I had to make another visit here — to fully cherish Yojisan Sushi. At Yojisan Sushi, I had the pleasure to enjoy some of the f r e s h e s t salmon available; the sashimi selection was so delectable that they melted instantly on my tongue. Tuna sashini was red as ruby and the yellowtail was soft and not tough. Although slightly on the more upscale side for sushi boutiques, Yojisan serves excellent quality that I’m certain sushi connoisseurs will surely agree x

Everything on the menu was vastly over priced, service was mediocre, and at the end of the meal when I asked to split the bill with the person joining me for dinner, I thought I was doing just that when I signed a check for half the amount of the full meal. Later that night I checked my card statement, and I was charged not only for the whole meal, but there was a second charge from them for an inexplicable $ 13. Not happy with the experience, do not recommend. Go to Sugarfish instead.

80 per person and we are all tiny girls. Pretty expensive, 20 – 30 per sushi plate(4−5pieces) but the only thing I absolutely love is the greentea lava cake, it is heavenly with so many layers of taste. THEBEST.

I wanted to check out the local sushi vibe in my new neighborhood noticed Yojisan just a couple blocks from my place so off I go. Asked to be seated at the bar, the Chef looked familiar but was not 100% so I proceeded with my order to the waiter: Sushi w/Easy Rice Albacore — was so fresh it just about melted in my mouth Kampachi — again fresh fresh fresh Salmon — salmon has become my raw fish lover, actually had 2 orders w/a side of White Salmon Engawa — not for the faint at heart This part of the halibut is very developed compared to the rest of the body and unlike the regular flesh of the halibut, it has a higher fat content which makes it a delicacy. It is very soft and chewy and more concentrated in flavor. Fresh Octopus — Oh what can I say about the fresh octopus other than I LOVE! This could be home-away-from-home and look forward to my next visit and super thrilled that Yoji called me out on our friendship that has gone as far back as 2000 when we met in El Segundo!

This is not the place if you are looking for a traditional Japanese sushi restaurant, but if you want to be blown away with the most unique and artistic Japanese dishes, you are at the right place. Yoji-san is like a magician putting ingredients that you would never in million years thought of combining together, but makes wonderful dishes. It is one of the Drago family owned restaurant so many dishes have Italian influence(or maybe just Yoji-san likes Italian.) The dish, my must have and I think what represents this restaurant the most, is Blue fin tuna, burrata cheese, and truffles with drizzles of truffle oil and truffle honey. It is amazing!!! Side note: Their deserts are delicious, too.

Went for a special date with my sister when she was visiting from out of town. Was referred by a fellow Unilocaler and it is close to home. Since we both have little ones we went in early for a 5:30pm dinner. Made a res and were seated inside by the window. Perfect. To start we had the seaweed salad and the veg miso soup. Gurgle Gurgle. The seaweed salad was the best I’ve ever had. The offerings on the daily special menu all made us drool. We ordered the most delicious lobster brown fried rice and salmon nigiri«three ways.» The salmon melted like butter in our mouths. «The best I’ve ever had,» said my sister. And lobster fried rice??? OMG. Died and went to heaven. We also had the Kampachi(this was ok to me), the toro jalapeño roll(delish) and the albacore roll. Did I have anything else? I can’t even remember but it was all wonderful. Would gladly go there again!

Came in for dinner last night and was not as impressed. The fish did not seem as fresh. We ordered red snapper sushi, salmon sushi and blue fin and it was decent but not as good as some other places in town. We also ordered the salmon carpaccio with avocaod, capers and arugula. This was my favorite. A spicy toro and jalepeno roll went uneaten as it was not our favorite. The blue crab handroll had practically no mayo at all and was almost fishy. We designed our own roll with salmon, avocado, tempura flakes and eel sauce. This was probably the best thing we had all night. I think they are more of a small dish and roll place rather than just nigiri. We were in the mood for nigiri so we were a little disappointed. Plus the prices are quite high.
