There really is no substitute for experience.
My husband and I have been going to Dr. Samovitz for about seven years. He can look anything on your skin and tell you what he thinks it is, and the lab results almost always say he’s right. He’s done several surgeries for my husband to remove skin cancers and has always done a perfect job with no recurrence and as little pain as possible. Having him as our doctor is very reassuring.

He asked me to get some lab work I did a few years ago at another dermatologist. I got in contact with the other office and faxed over the report but several weeks had passed and I never heard from him. I called and left a message and he eventually called me back after two weeks and left a message. I called back and I went straight to voicemail and haven’t heard back since.

He is Greedy/​and unprofessional
I have visited this so called doctor because i have a rash in my back. He prescribed me a cream to apply in the infected area twice a day for month; however he wrote down only 60gm with one refill. (please note my back was all infected). within a week the medicine ran out. I called again to ask for approval, he said NO. He said this is my fault. He wanted me to come again, so he can charge me another $ 50.00. His assistants are couple of two old women, that has no idea how to handle clients requests.

I have been going to Dr. Myron Samovitz M. D for a couple years. I was referred by another Doctor. The office is nice and when I had to make a last minute appointment they were willing to stay later to help me when I had a used a horrible skin product. The doctor takes time to talk to each patient and give them the time that they need with the doctor.

I love Dr. S, but he is a no-​frills dermatologist and he is old school (probably because he’s pretty old). He is strictly rashes and moles, from my experience, but he doesn’t mess around, doesn’t sell you on products, doesn’t keep you waiting, and knows what he’s doing. I love the ladies in the front office, too. I don’t know if he’s the person to go to for vanity issues; I don’t even think he has a laser. I’m dreading his retirement, which has to be in the near-​future.

Dr. Samovitz is a nice guy and I’m sure was a great Dermatologist at a younger point in his life. But I recently went to him to have an ingrown hair removed from under my eyebrow and he really butchered the area. It’s been a week since I went to him and the wound is ghastly. He said he knew it was an ingrown hair but couldn’t see it. I think he may simply be too old to perform these types of procedures and I wish he’d have bowed out instead of mutilating my face. I’m very upset and hoping this wound will heal without a scar. I never leave negative reviews, but in this case I’m hoping to spare someone from the dreadful experience I had. Oh bonus for when I said «Oh my God, this is a huge wound», the office staff lady chimed in with «Ahh, nobody will notice.» Maybe that’s easy to say when it’s not your face that has been messed with. Avoid this doctor.
