I took my 3 year old to get a haircut. She complained and cried the whole way there. She wouldn’t sit in the chair and was holding on to me for dear life. However, Nadia was patient and really good with my daughter(whereas I was about to lose it myself). She didn’t give up at getting my daughter to sit for her to give her the cut. She didn’t make it a big deal, even when there were two people waiting to get their hairs cut afterwards. She is truly a great lady and she gave a beautiful haircut to my daughter. I was very happy with this place and with Nadia’s haircut.

My 3 year old son was treated great by both staff and patrons at this salon. My son has autism and let’s just say having him sit for a haircut isn’t an easy task. He screamed with excitement and joy as he watched Mickey Mouse on the tv and no one flinched. He arched his back and was less than cooperative but with patience and persistence his stylist executed an adorable hair cut. I am thankful for establishments like this. He didn’t feel out of place and I didn’t have to explain his disability or justify his actions. Even though it was obvious that my son could not verbally respond, all of the staff actively engaged him in conversation. There was an adult there getting her hair cut and she was also Unphased by my sons antics. At the end everyone told my son he had done a good job(a bit of a stretch lol). These people really love kids, all kids! I wouldn’t spend my money anywhere else!

Brought my kid for his first haircut. 16 months old, giant curly frizzy mop. Small place, fun atmosphere. Lots of toys and books. The seat was a little race car. Emily cut his hair and was great. Knew how to keep him distracted and gave him an excellent haircut. And she was quick. It was 30 bucks, which is more expensive than a chain place, but the experience was very positive and fun. And for a first haircut they take a nice Polaroid of the event. I would recommend.

The moment we walked in my son was in heaven. As he sat down in the car ready to get his haircut, Nadia and I discussed which cut to give him. I showed her pictures and we came to a great decision. My son was entertained all the way through and the hair came out great. We will be coming back!

I had heard about this place from a friend. I forgot the girls name that cut my hair, but I was VERY disappointed! I would never go back or recommend.

Loved this place! This was my daughter’s first haircut and the stylist was amazing with her! She took her time with her and made the experience for all of us very special. She got a little certificate with some of her hair from the haircut and a picture! The staff is wonderful and we are definitely coming back again!

Nadia is amazing. My son just had his haircut here for the 3rd time he is 4. At first he did not want to get a hair cut and was nervous. She made him relax and put on something fun for him to watch. After he was relaxed in his cute car she listened to exactly what I wanted and quickly and patiently cut his hair. She did an amazing job, looks adorable, short enough but not to short. It has perfect shape and body and looks amazing. I would highly recommend this place to anyone who needs a kids haircut. I also found out she cuts adult hair and the lady who came in after me seemed to be a regular and have a great relationship with her. Taking your kids for a haircut can be stressful but here at Rockn Cuts Nadia makes it fun easy great and something you would want to come back for. THANKS! I will defiantly come back.

I have always cut my son’s hair since he was a year old. But since it was right before Christmas and he’s now almost six, I thought I would try to find a professional hair salon that would spiffy up his hair. So I purchased a Groupon deal for Rock n’Cuts and was excited since I’ve passed by this place many times before and thought it looks fun for kids. I called and requested Nadia since her name was on the title, but they told me she doesn’t take Groupon. I was okay with that and made an appointment. When I arrived I saw the work Nadia was doing and was impressed at how meticulous and stylish she did the boys cuts. I figured I was going to receive the same quality. Someone else cut my boys hair and, to my dismay, it came out disheveled and uneven. I had to even it out when I got home and still it looks as if I could have just done it myself. Despite this, I gave a good tip, but I will not be coming back here again.

By far the best place anywhere on the West Side(and probably well beyond, for that matter) to have your kids’ hair cut. Nadia knows kids and their hair like no one else. Our kids used to find haircuts traumatic, but no more since we discovered Nadia. She makes the experience fun for the kids, and also makes her work look effortless(which is amazing if you have seen others’ struggle to trim kids’ hair as they wriggle and squiggle).

Love this place. I take my son to Emily and she has cut my hair as well, we both love her. She’s personable and friendly and does a phenomenal job. Highly recommended. Parking can be tricky, so show up a little early because you may be driving in circles for a bit.

The salon was very kid friendly. They have a racing car as a chair. So cute! Emily cut my baby’s hair. He was screaming the whole time but she was kind and worked quickly to get his cut done correctly. She offered to put cartoons on for him even offered him a lolly pop. First hair cuts receive a photo and they save you a lock of hair. My son is mixed so I know it’s difficult to cut his hair. She did an amazing job. Such a great experience. Will definitely return.

I took my son here for his first haircut at around 7 months. They were so kind and welcoming when we came in. I told them it was his first haircut and they were equally as excited as me. The woman who cut his hair had such good energy and made my son laugh as he was getting his haircut. And I was very happy with how the cut looked. It was exactly what I wanted. They saved some of his hair for me and put it on a «first haircut card» for me. I would definitely take my son there again!

We love Emily at Rock’n cuts. She is amazing with kids and hair cuts! My son just turned two and loves getting his hair cut and seeing Emily! Everyone is super friendly here and we highly recommend it. They are also super flexible … My son fell asleep in the car on the way to our cut. I called and explained the situation and they were so sweet and accommodating. My mother in law came to visit and needed a trim. Emily cut her hair too. My MIL loved her cut.

Solid place and the staff is very patient and nice. They have little TV’s at each station, toys and all kinds of stuff to make a toddler enjoy the experience… except for my two-year-old. He FREAKED out upon entrance and so the hairdresser was nice enough to cut his hair on the waiting room chair. About half way through the process, he didn’t mind what was going on. I don’t know why he dislikes haircuts so much; his first visit here was fine. Anyway, he came out looking great. Thanks for getting it done, Rock’n Cuts.

We took two 7 year old girls for the amazon deal: haircut & manicure The girls thought it was cool and are happy with their cuts, so that’s the important part to me. As the parent and consumer. It seems that they have 1 general formula to cut a girls hair and that’s all they can do. Don’t expect anything too on-trend or unique. The manicure was fine; just painting their nails but what else do you expect for a little girl. The bummer for me was the fine print on the deal saying they charge an extra $ 7 for hair longer than shoulder length. Their hair was seriously AT their shoulders and they charged more for them. It was a fine experience.

the only place I take my toddler for his haircuts. I have tried a few other places, they always give my son a bowl like cut. Not here. They are prepared for your kid: toys, animal crackers, entertainment… and when it all fails, well they take as long as needed, cutting hair one at a time if that’s what it will take… but your child will get his cut. Everyone is patient, takes the time to entertain my toddler and gives him rocking cuts.
