I’ve been training here for about 5 months, and I already know that I will be here for many years to come. The organized curriculum makes the learning process faster, more efficient, and much more comprehensive. Master Ryron is there almost all the time, and the other instructors are all super high level black belts as well. This is true self-defense/street jiu-jitsu, as opposed to «sport» jiu-jitsu. It is much more effective in a real world situation. The rate at which people improve at this academy is ridiculous! The attention to detail and the purity of the technique here is second to none. It is a little more expensive than other academies, but the facility is incredible, and the instruction is better than anywhere else. You get what you pay for, and at the Gracie Academy, you get the best.

Came for the«women empowered» class not really knowing what I was getting into. I figured a little self defense couldn’t hurt a girl. Almost everyone was in the jujitsu uniform — white pants with a white jacket and a belt(similar to a other martial arts outfits). And thus, I was a bit worried what I signed up for. They give you a temporary card as a first-time attendee and send you into the class. First a bit of warm up, but don’t forget to tell the instructor this is your first time. This instructor, Mike, took me and the other new attendee aside and showed us some things while the rest of the class reviewed all the moves they had already learned in prior classes. Then the instructor and assistant taught us a new move which we practiced in pairs, and this repeated for several moves. Really there is nothing to be afraid of, except maybe what the class is preparing you for out in the real world. Everyone was welcoming and helpful! I enjoyed the class and now have a few moves under my belt if the horrible ever happens. Seems like this women’s class is weekly on Saturdays, and the all women aspect makes it a safe place. Metered parking is available right outside, there are public lots in Beverly Hills which offers you two free hours as long as you enter before 6PM.

The lady’s bathroom is a freaking spa. Dang! But more than that this academy gives you a bad-*** feeling that you can defend yourself against any opponent. I believe every woman should train jiujitsu, specially the real one. The Gracie jiujitsu one. #womanempowered

I have yet to visit Jiu-Jitsu heaven(Torrance Academy), so thus far, Beverly Hills has been the best academy experience! It’s like a Jiu-jitsu spa! Every person was extremely welcoming and helpful. I felt right at home. Great locker room, equipped with private lockers, shower facilities and amenities. I train at a different academy on the east side of LA, and coming here was such a seamless experience. They even validate parking. Five stars all around.

I love Ryron and Victoria, I trained here for slightly less than a year and I miss it a lot. This place is really clean. The teachers are really friendly. Very professional. I saw Ronda rousey there a couple times and was star struck. They are really good at breaking down the moves and telling you what to do, was hard to find anywhere else that matches Gracie !!

I took a free seminar with the academy last weekend, and they brought so many wonderful instructors from both of their locations, it was really terrific! For a free event, they had so much support and it made for an excellent student experience! All of the instructors were super high-energy, educational, and really funny and entertaining. I would definitely come back for paid sessions and I would highly recommend any woman to come here to learn some self defense!

I train jiu-jitsu in Chicago and I flew in to attend the Metamoris tournament. Since I was staying with a friend in West Hollywood, I thought it’d be nice to drop by the Gracie Academy in Beverly Hills. I was a little nervous going in because I had never trained with a Gracie before but all my tensions were put at ease when I saw how welcoming and helpful everybody there was, from the instructors to the regular students to the front desk staff. I really felt welcomed with open arms. Ryron Gracie, who was the professor for the day, eased the tension with the class by Keeping it Playful in an interactive, fun, and intellectually stimulating class. The atmosphere was incredibly friendly and I felt like I was amongst friends that I had been training with for years given how easily it was to click with the other students. The facility is truly first-rate and the locker room reminded me more of a health spa than a jiujitsu school. Additionally, they had a fridge stocked with health drinks and coconut water for sale, a detail that I wish other schools would follow suit on. I have no doubt that if I lived in Los Angeles, this would be my home academy. I look forward to the next time I fly in to L.A. so that I may have the privilege to attend another class. Whether you live in the area or you’re from out of town, I would highly recommend dropping by for a class, I promise that you won’t be disappointed.
