I’ve been going to this lady for the past year. Although her prices aren’t cheap, she has a lot of expertise and does a great job. She’s tailored both of my engagement party dresses among many other clothing items and always finishes them on time and I’ve never had any issues with the tailoring job.

I’ve been going here for years and years and this is the last time. On a few occasions, I have had to go back after tailoring. I usually am there to have clothing taken in at the waist and/or shortened. The woman(I believe she is the owner and has been there for as long as I can remember) usually wants to make the waist tighter than I prefer. I tell her I like a looser waist, she always says(regardless of fabric) that this type of fabric stretches in the waist. So, on those occasions, when we did the«tighter» waist and the fabric did not stretch, I have had to go back to adjust the waist. When I do, she always fights me on it. The first time, I just left and didn’t have her adjust the waist(because she pretty much refused). The second time, on 3 pairs of pants, she said that the pants that I brought in were not done by their shop! She said the tailoring work was not up to her standards and that it looked like it had been done by a cleaners! Luckily, I paid by check with an Invoice noted on the memo line. I came back, brought her a copy of the check and then she said she’d have to find her copy of the invoice because that invoice must have been for some other alterations(because the price was so high!). I went back again to check to see if she had found the invoice. She had and said she called the employee to see why he took in the waist like that.(He no longer worked there.) She apologized and removed the seams while we waited. She even offered to do 2 future alterations for free to make up for the problem. Since then, we have had many more items tailored. I have now learned that even if she says the waist will stretch, I have her make the waist to where I find it comfortable. The last time I was there, I had several pants hemmed. One pair came back with one leg obviously longer than the other in the front. She said they were the same length. We went back and forth and I asked her why she always fights me when things need to be redone. She said, fine, she’ll re-do it but, she’ll have to make the back shorter, too, and I can’t complain if they’re not even in the back. I asked her why this was the case with these pants and not the 5 others I had just had shortened. I just left. I’m not having her adjust the length. I’m a little afraid of what might happen. I have finally learned my lesson, as conveniently located as FYT is, I will not go back.

I gave it a 2 because I’m not longer sure who runs the joint. The Asian lady is super cool. I’ve been going to her for years. Her prices are very reasonable and work is good. She’s a 4 star. But sometimes, her son runs the shop and I get the sense that he charges more. I brought my suit jacket in for sleeves to be hemmed. It was the kind of sleeve that couldn’t be hemmed at the cuffs so they had to do the hemming at the shoulders. I understand that it’s a lot more work and why they needed to do that(it had to do with the buttons on the cuffs). But he charged me $ 120, as I recall. This seemed really high. The quality of the work was good, though, but I feel like I was in a bind, he knew that, and he gauged me.
