I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Fuller and his nurse Elsa! They gave me hope again after a # of medical professionals before them could not! I had been a diet soda addict (4 to 6 cans of soda a day) for the last 10 years. Other that that, I am a healthy female professional in my early 30’s. When work got stressful, I would pick up that can of Diet Dew! For the past few years I would notice that I would lose my voice all the time and wake up with a sore throat. I never really thought much about it but it started to get worse and worse by early 2015. By July of 2015, I had no voice and was burping all the time and woke up with a sore throat everyday. This affected my work and my life. I stopped drinking soda at that point because of the burping I would experience. My dentist told me that my teeth started to show acid damage as well. I started to get tests done and all tests led to an insane amount of acid reflux that was coming up all the way to my throat. I first was seeing an ENT doctor and then he referred me to a GI doctor. They did an endoscopy with biopsies and told me everything came back normal. They prescribed me a different kind of reflux medicine and basically told me there was nothing I could do. I was so frustrated and fed up after 4 months of tests and doctors and basically miserable everyday of my life. That is when I took matters in to my own hands and started researching experts in thoracic/reflux surgeries. I found Dr. Fuller online and called his office. Elsa answered the phone and she could tell that I was desperate. She squeezed me in for an apt that Wednesday to see Dr. Fuller! My experience at his office was top notch. He listened to my every word and wrote down everything I told him at my first appointment. He explained why I was experiencing what I was experiencing in great detail. Elsa then helped pull all the test results I had done at other places. Dr Fuller told me I needed to do one more esophageal test and then he would get me in for a procedure to fix my issue before the Holidays. After meeting Dr. Fuller and Elsa I had felt hope for the first time in 5+ months! I counted down the days until the procedure in the hopes he would fix me!!! It’s now been a little over 1.5 months since my Lap-Nissen Fundoplication surgery and I am SO happy with the results! I have seen Dr. Fuller a few times after for follow-up and he’s been so great and informative! And the staff/nurses/doctors at Cedar’s were top notch as well. You can tell that Dr. Fuller and Elsa really care about their patients and I cannot say more positive things about this entire experience. I am so thankful that I did my research and found them and can now lead a normal life again in 2016!
