Very slow service. After 1 ½ hours no food at all not even bread. Servers were nice but not apologetic. Asked for something to eat they brought pita that was tasty. Finally salads arrived in just under two hours. Entrées were about 45 minutes later. Now the good part… Everyone thought the food was good to great. My advice would be only go there if time is not a factor. There was a sign at the hostess station that said«check with manager or chef before seating tables of more than four» So, we were 8, smaller group might have a better experience.

After becoming unimpressed by the Red Crow in recent years I was curious to dine at hemispheres. Our group of 5 came in and the décor was awesome! Very well greeted. Some people might thing the pace is slow, but it makes a perfect evening out for a group out. My only suggestion on timing is maybe having bread available. It’s a long time to wait when you are hungry and alcohol quickly goes to your head! Our party was completely impressed with their dishes. I had teriyaki chicken and while it was a little dry, the seasonings and brussle sprouts were awesome! Also, I like to finish with an after dinner drink and I was disappointed to find out drambuie was not something you stocked. A must in an upscale restaurant. But overall, it was money well spent with fabulous food!

Great place to eat. Very reasonable prices for a restaurant of this caliber. Really like the open kitchen concept. As for the food…3 of us ate dinner that night. Started with the lobster spring roll. Very good. Waiter brought out small plates and nice(not disposable) chop sticks. Was just right for 3 people but not enough for 4(and that’s perfectly fine, just thought I’d mention it). Our main courses consisted of the salmon, flat iron steak, and half chicken. Salmon was fantastic, steak was cooked exactly as it should be and the chicken was suburb. As others have mentioned the menu allows the diner to choose the protein, the finish and the sides. Our waiter knew the best combos and was a big help. There are all veg dishes if that’s your thing, as well. We did enjoy a nice bottle of wine with our meal. Will be back often. Edit: spelling

Well here we are at hemisphere bistro. Had the hummus and blue cheese dip. Love hummus. This was okay. Had a great deal of grease on top which I assume was tahini. They did bring me baked pita chips because the first ones were deep fried. Trying to have a healthy appetizer I wouldn’t have expected the chips to be deep fried, but suppose maybe with the blue cheese dip. The music is wonderful Michael Buble pandora station. Very appropriate for the restaurant. The acoustics are still a problem from the previous restaurant but they did put some sound barrier in. But we sat by the bar and it is still hard to talk to each other. It wasn’t a busy night so I’m sure this would be worse in a weekend. Dinner was good portion could have been a little more on the asparagus. Three spears. Reminds me of faithful pilot. Lol. But everything was delicious. Price was reasonable 22. I like the way you picked your sauced with 13 choices. And you picked your potatoe rice vegetables etc. that was a great way to do it. Overall the food was decent. I might have been more impressed if we hadn’t got the appetizer. The service was great she was knowledgable and tried to make it a good dining experience.

Restaurants are all about the experience to me and what I remember about it… for example the food, staff, ambiance, price. Gordon Ramsey — great staff, beef wellington, sticky toffee pudding, and a 500 bill with tip(for 4 of us)…Wolfgang puck — don’t remember what I had or the staff but the place looked nice, couple of local restaurants Duck city rings a bell and says«beef it’s what’s for dinner» good food but I don’t remember it, waitresses at tapias and the cellar are amazing and tapias has sweet potatoes. Steventons is simple ingredients done very well but kinda dark and spacious. My point is it is rare to have an experience where I will remember the ambiance(I thought the lighting was great) decorated nicely with music not intrusive at all. The waitstaff(Aaron was awesome, helped with the menu as well as being a part time comedian. .he thinks), and lest I forget the food, which is clearly visible while it’s being prepared and plated, brie salad with vanilla bean champagne vinaigrette, pork belly with asparagus and Brussel sprouts with a bacon cream sauce, all of which were cooked perfectly. With a price tag lower than 99% of what i would pay at other fine dining restaurants for similar. Thanks to chef aman and staff, I will remember this experience and be back for more. I have a feeling I’ll need a reservation next time.

We went to this restaurant with a gift certificate from Red Crow. While closed for renovations the sign in the window said gift certificates would be honored, but this one was not due to a technicality. The reasoning was sound on their part, but as a customer I don’t care. The experience got better. Our waiter was very friendly and knowledgeable, service was excellent. One suggestion: don’t use the words«meat glue» when describing the special of the day — it made me think of a rendering operation for horses past their prime. Maybe«protein binder?» Maybe anything but meat glue. Yuck. The pork loin chop prepared with chateaubriand was superb, as were the fingerling potatoes, the french-cut beans and the risotto. The lamb was very tender, but otherwise unremarkable. Presentation was very good. Music volume kept going up and down, and the selection was puzzling, going from Runaround Sue to predictable Rat Pack standards. Odd for the theme; I would have expected something edgier, like some jazz fusion or blues. The décor was beautifully done, but the lights were overdone, ruining the ambience. Nobody wants to eat a $ 80 meal in the equivalent of bar ugly lights. If they keep up the quality of the food, they may become a favorite. I’m giving them 4 stars because they’re 3 weeks old and still working out the kinks. One star lost for failing to honor our certificate. That’s no way to start a new business.

Our experience was nothing like the reviews before stated. We walked in at 5:15PM and at 6:30 we still had no food and walked out. We ordered our meal with a salad. Twenty minutes later we still had no salad. The waiter checked on it and apparently it was waiting to be picked up but the waiter apparently didn’t know where to look for it. Unbelievable. We ate our salads and after about 45 minutes we asked our waiter to check on our entrée. Another 10 minutes passed with no response about our meal. At 6:30 we left without eating. No one ever came to our table to talk to us. Very bad experience and so sad, as we were very regular customers of Red Crow.

Best New Restaurant in the Quad Cities The Hemispheres Bistro is newly opened at the former location of the Red Crow Bistro. It is in no way similar to the Red Crow which closed July, 2015. You have to try it! Entrees mainly in the range of $ 20 to $ 22. With 2 sides at no additional cost! Side dishes are plentiful: Potatoes(various types), vegetables(brussel sprouts are the best), Rice and Noodles. They have 13 different sauces which you choose for your food. This is really continental style but it’s still down to earth«Midwest» food: Chops, tenderloins, poultry, and seafood. It’s a most unusual combination of continental type cuisine and the local restaurant next door. The owner and the head chef is Aman Razdan the former Red Crow chef under Laurie Sandoval, who founded Red Crow, back when Red Crow was The Restaurant in the quad cities. The kitchen has been enlarged anD now is proud to have the famous Tandoor Oven, which is used all through Asia(India, etc.) This is an oven made with Clay and has a mud or concrete type insulation. The great advantage is it maintains consistent temperature for hours after being heated to 900 degrees. The beautiful décor that Mark Romer built is still more or less the same. This is the perfect place for your romantic interlude. I would add that the Menu is not written in unintelligible French as some mgrs. and chefs did in the past. Every word is Down To Earth American. It opened October 22, 2015 and I ate at the Bistro on the 24th. I had the best Pork Chop on the bone I have ever had except for one exception which was a chop I had had at a fine dining place in Connecticut. It was not any better than Hemispheres. About 2 or 3 inches thick and the cost: $ 22. I have paid many times, $ 32 to $ fine dining restaurants. They are open for lunch with entrée sandwiches costing no more, than $ 11! One thing I want to mention; for dinner the appetizers are phenomenal and you can make a meal out of 1 or 2 of those. For example, the«grilled» cocktail shrimp which costs only $ 10. and includes asparagus and a coconut salad. There staff includes Sammy, the bar mgr, Rob, Dave, Erin, and Mary Ann and all are very attentive to your every need.
