This is as good as sushi gets in Bethlehem. I travel here for work and eat here as many nights as possible. Sometimes every single night I am in Bethlehem I eat at The Other Fish. Because it is perfect. Bring your own sake as they do not serve booze. They will provide you little sake glasses.

Service was good. Food is super overpriced for the quality of food and portion. Sadly, I was not impressed but wanted to be.

The place is very small(don’t go if you are claustrophobic). People were friendly but it wasn’t enough to make up for poorly created sushi rolls(mine had so little rice it fell apart) and way overpriced compared to other fantastic sushi restaurants in the valley. A coupon wasn’t enough to make it worth the price.

I really enjoy The Other Fish and have been here many times. It is the only sushi place I have ever encountered that I would consider to be a «hole in the wall». The setup is bizarre but they ran with it and the result is a really unique atmosphere. All the employees are friendly. The sushi is on par with the area but what makes it special is the eccentric rolls. I have plowed through probably 75% of the menu at this point and there’s only one roll I didn’t like and that was because it was doused with strange sauces.

It was OK. I went with my boyfriend because we had a coupon, basically 15 $ off our meal. The place was really cool looking, awesome music and it felt more like you were in a friendship with the people who worked there. It is very tiny, most of the seating near the sushi bar. It was cool to see the chef cook your meal. The employees are more of your friends, so they joke around, go on their phones and talk to each other constantly. They are very close to you all the time due to the small space. They were really friendly and going on a not busy night(right when the opened) service was good. The problems started with the fact it wasn’t a typical eat in joint. You can see the chef cook right in front of you. It is definitely a place based on younger people. The music, the style and the food is all for the younger crowd except they close at an early hour. So this was very confusing, especially if you want to go out drinking or get food delivered at a later hour. The food was nothing to brag about, actually one of the worst sushi places I have eaten at in the valley. The only roll worth talking about was a half tuna half salmon deep fried roll which was fried well. The fish(in opinion) did not taste fresh,(maybe I went on a bad day?) We also shared a teriyaki chicken, watching the chef cook it was cool and veggies were yummy but the chicken was dry. He cooked it almost poaching the chicken causing it to dry out plus it wasn’t on a sizzling platter which is the only time I ever been to a sushi place where that has happened. They don’t have a large menu mostly sushi, a little over priced compared to the sushi places I’ve been to. It was cool to go just to check it out, listen to sweet music and enjoy the scenery but nothing I would go out of my way for, especially if I didn’t have a coupon. I do recommend to try it to base your own opinion! Just make sure to go early, or maybe get delivery especially if you have more than two people going(They only have one large table).

I ate here last week while in town for work. Living in FL and frequently traveling domestically and internationally, I have had some amazing sushi and it takes a lot for me to rate a sushi place 5 stars; however, this place totally deserves it! First off… the ambiance of it being in a small space with the bar and a few small tables and it’s older interior made me feel like I was in a sushi place I visited in Thailand. Secondly, the staff was great and very welcoming. Finally… the food. So delicious, so fresh. I had a salad topped with crab and my coworker has a salad that was filled with generous portions of veggies and avocado. The salads are big enough to split one. As for the sushi, I can’t recall exactly which ones we ordered, but we had 5 different rolls(mix of cooked and raw) and each one was perfect. Service is quick and friendly. Prices are very reasonable. The only drawback is we found out it’s BYOB after arriving there, which is totally fine… Thats not a thing in my state so I didn’t even know that existed… now we know and can bring some sake next time! Can’t wait to come here again on my next business trip!

Awesome this place was delicious and fantastic. It had that great hole in the wall ambiance and the sushi was really fresh. I also had a fantastic salad full of fresh veggies. I will definitely be a repeat Customer when I am in town. It’s not exactly what you would expect on Bethlehem PA!

Best sushi ever. Homemade noodle bowls, rolls with fritos, best homemade carrot ginger dressing, and the Vegas roll. BYOB. A local favorite place, and Yuri, the host with the most makes it all fun. Don’t miss it.

Best sushi in the Lehigh Valley. Very glad We found this place. You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. Byob so they can focus on the food.

The sushi was pretty good but quite small portion sizes for the price. I got take-out, though I wish I had eaten in as the place seemed pretty cool inside. I don’t think I’d come again as it wasn’t good enough value – but we’ll see how much I crave sushi, as it seems to be the best place in the heart of the town.

I didn’t have any illusions about this sushi place going in. So let’s start with the good– tons of atmosphere, totally divey as described, outside seating was nice until it started drizzling aggressively and there was no umbrella at our table. The server was terrific, very friendly enthusiastic, and knowledgeable but clearly running off his feet working the full inside seating area and the outside. The house made ginger dressing is possibly the best I’ve ever had. My friend and I shared the crab wontons and they were 90% cream cheese, fried. Just bleh. We each ordered two rolls, mine came out after 25 minutes, hers after 35 minutes. The fish itself was ok, really seemed like if you didn’t order something spicy the flavor was lacking. We asked for a reference for dessert and got one but alas that was worse than the dinner had been. If I go back, I’ll sit at the bar inside to get quicker service and order sashimi. And bring my own dessert.

My excitement to eat here quickly subsided when I walked inside. The décor was boring and felt much more like a fish n chips place than a sushi restaurant. The music playing reminded me of high school circa 1999 — and the cool dude behind the counter singing along paid us no mind. Some time after ordering a scruffy guy appeared from no where, said nothing, didn’t look up, slapped some rolls together and handed them to us. I WASSODISAPPOINTED. It felt like zero of the people working gave any f**ks about our presence. It’s really hard to pay that kind of money when you feel like you’re invisible to the crew. Especially when you’re THEONLYCUSTOMERS!(lol) I absolutely hate mayonnaise. In the last ten years I’ve found many more sushi restaurants use crab salad with mayo now, instead of lump crabmeat. I scowered the menu carefully for rolls without mayo and ordered accordingly — unfortunately they both had mayonnaise when they came out. I tried to eat it, but there wasn’t just a bit of mayo to hold it together, there was A LOT of mayo. Sigh. With the staff’s demeanor I decided I’d rather just bounce and never come back, instead of asking them to make it again. My date and I walked down the street to the Brew Works and had a much better atmosphere and food/drinks. Bummer, I was so stoked after all the press this place has gotten, I’m new to town and really need a go-to sushi place. This won’t be it.

FANTASTIC! It’s a tiny place, but the friendliness of the staff and quality of the food make up for the limited space/if you have to wait a bit to get in. It’s BYOB everything including soda. We try to get here as much as possible. WORTHEVERYPENNY. We almost don’t want to tell everyone how cool this place it because that means more wait time to get in for us ha ha ha ha but we can’t help ourselves– we tell everyone to go here because it’s that good.

My family and I love this place. The staff is so pleasant and the food is amazing. I recommend this place to everyone. The only issue is the lack of seating but it’s worth the wait if you have to wait.

I’ve been here several times and absolutely love it! Recently I tried their ramen, which was amazing!!! I went with a picky friend, they are more than accommodating and will remove/add to your preference… I really can’t say enough great things about them… Only down side is that it’s a small place so if you’re going with a large party you want to call ahead and reserve the front table!!! My favorite’s are the ramen, spicy tuna, and amore rolls. It is a BYOB. Enjoy!

a family member just moved to Bethlehem and I was told this place was awesome. I’m extremely picky with sushi because I work for a traditional japanese restaurant in NJ and they have the freshest fish ive ever had(i can taste the difference anywhere I go) and i must say, the other fish was AWESOME. i LOVED the little hole in the wall location, i did not mind the cramped space. i LOVED the music the owner had playing(smashing pumpkins etc) The rolls were excellent, the fish was very clearly fresh. the rolls themselves were creative and delicious. My father got a spicy seafood soup with noodles and it was fantastic, and i dont even like soups. my spicy tuna and tuna avocado rolls were delicious — and then I also ordered a spider roll which i was shockingly impressed with because not only was the soft shell crab excellent, they put fresh blue crab salad inside of the rolll. it added a delicious and original touch. my house salad had the best ginger dressing I’ve ever tasted and you could tell it was home made, and the wasabi dumplings were the only reason I didn’t give this place 5 stars — We serve wasabi shumai at my restaurant as well and theyre bigger and much spicier, so I wasn’t impressed. HOWEVER– that’s the least important part of this meal. Sushi was DELICIOUS, service was warm and helpful, and i really did love the atmospphere. I will certainly be back.

Going up a star thanks to the terrific udon soup I had tonight. Great value and a great meal. Shrimp, scallops, sweet mushrooms, one egg and loads of noodles and scallions made it a great dish.. I may not be ordering it this summer but it fit the bill on a chilly spring evening. Well done. Fresh tuna sashimi for an appetizer also hit the spot. The meat just melted in my mouth and had that clean, smooth taste we all love about ahi.

A sushi roll with Fritos called ‘Drunk on Tuesday’?? Very eccentric, cool hole in the wall. That kind of says it all. Easy parking(street and a lot next door), but as many have said, a super SUPER tight space. We were lucky to get three seats together at the bar on a Friday night. There is one round table at the front… seats about 6. Downfall to the only large table? You’re sitting directly at the front door so on a chilly night like tonight, brrrr! The other seating consists of about 4 two-tops lined against the wall directly behind the bar. So sitting at the bar or table, you will be bumped throughout your meal by the servers who are going back and forth through the right ‘aisle.’ It’s literally about 1.5 feet between the backs of anyone seated at the bar and those sitting at the tables. No secret conversations happening here! None of the tightness bothered us though. It is a dive kind of joint. But it’s also an experience. To sit at the bar and watch the sushi chef roll his rolls was quite entertaining and a bit educational. Every order was made fresh. As someone who works in food service from time to time, I had a few questions about following code … But let’s leave it at that. Nothing was so bad as to stop me from enjoying the delicious rolls we were served. Our server, Uri, was super. Not much more to say! The young kid who was texting when he should have been getting a table their wine glasses needs to go. The space is way too small to not do your job responsibly. Definitely a cool place to hang with friends, go on a date and even take your ‘mature’ kids. Our 7-yr-old loves sushi and had a blast at the bar. Not a place I’d bring a child who is younger than 5 though. Not super kid-friendly nor is there space for a high chair of any sort. Get your order for take out in that case. It will still be delicious!
