Our family has been actively renewing our memberships at this gym for several consecutive years. We have had a very positive experience overall, especially with the trainers, who are knowledgeable and pleasant and always provide positive feedback and ways to increase the workout experience. The only reason for one less star is because we had an active duty military family member visiting over the holidays who wanted to work out at the facility in preparation for an upcoming overseas deployment. When asked if there were any applicable discounts for a daily or weekly pass, we were told it was non-negotiable — only one price. With the variety of discounts offered to employees and their families, senior citizens, and young people, we were very disappointed that the facility was not willing to offer any similar accommodations for any service members. Although the fee is standard for members and their guests, it seems that a business of this caliber should be accommodating to those who serve our country. It has made us reconsider our memberships for the upcoming year, since there are many other facilities in the area who would be willing to offer this small gesture out of principle.

Clean Trainers that have knowledge and friendly personalities A lot of machines to use and free weights and classes that are free(Unless you take Yoga) I love the personalized attention, if you don’t know how to use the equipment the trainers on duty have no problem showing you how. And yeah there is an older clientele than most gyms but also a wide variety of ages as well. High School & College athletes train with the Director of the gym and there a few of what I call grunting muscle heads but few and far between. I like that this gym can be social but isn’t primarily about that. I think all body types are more accepted here than most other gyms. You join the gym by appointment for a physical & nutritional assessment /intro to the machines and a program suitable for you. But after that first day you can come whenever you wish.

New(opened Dec ’08) 15,000 sq ft facility with complete set of free weights, Cybex and LifeFitness trainers, full array of cardio equipment. This place is clean!(clean, clean), and spacious — high ceilings, no cramped corridors with machines wedged in. Offers full schedule of fitness classes: spinning, step, pilates, etc. NB: Do not confuse with St. Luke’s North(1 block away). This Fitness Center is intended for rehabilitation /physical therapy, so the crowd is perhaps older than average. But there is plenty of equipment here to challenge and delight most muscle heads. Downside: The locker room has no steam /sauna, and there is no towel service. I’d expect that for the price — comparable to Steel Fitness. But the cleanliness of the facility is great.
