We’re B&B regulars. The Morningstar Inn is very near the top of our list. The home is painstakingly restored, the rooms are nicely sized and very comfortable. It’s in a tree-lined neighborhood of mostly historic homes, but within comfortable distance of downtown restaurants and attractions. There’s a pool table in the parlor and a pool out back, and a large reading porch on the side. Free house-made snacks during the day, complimentary Yuengling and other refreshments late afternoon. But the tops is breakfast: just-made donuts and pastries, fresh-squeezed juices, seasonal fruit compote, and two entrée choices. My wife and I had eggs Benedict, which was done on a house-made English muffin, real-deal Canadian bacon, house-made Hollandaise, and perfectly cooked eggs. Special note — we’d let them know my wife is gluten intolerant, and they had two gluten free donuts at our table, a gluten-free muffin for her Benedict, and on arrival two gluten free cookies in our room. We really felt welcome all around.

Beautiful, romantic bed & breakfast situated a stone’s throw from Main Street restaurants. Owners are knowledgeable, friendly, interesting, and make you feel comfortable in every way. They even have an awesome pool table. And complimentary snacks and wine! If you find yourself in the Christmas City, definitely book the Morningstar Inn.

Excellent bed and breakfast experience. I went here for my honeymoon only to find out they had double booked us but they found us an alternate place to stay and were very apologetic. My next stay with them was complimentary and I have to say that I would pay the full price again with no regrets. The service has a personal touch and that is getting rarer these days. The décor throughout the house is tasteful and not«vomit antiques everywhere» that you see in similar establishments. The location is also neat since it’s in the middle of Historic Bethlehem and you can easily walk to the Main Street area for a classy dinner or do something touristy. The rooms themselves are elegant yet have all the necessary modern comforts. Free wifi, extremely large cable TV selection, modern bathrooms with a fantastic bathtub for soaking, and all very clean. Only complaint was that the heat was a little warm for my wife’s tastes but I didn’t notice it too much. It happens with old houses like that. I think the mattress was a little soft but I’m also a big guy. Throughout the day there is complimentary drinks(including Yuengling beer, or «lager» as we call it here) and the owner bakes awesome treats that are free for the taking. Breakfast was the best I had in a long time. The cornflake-crusted french toast was out of this world. They should just sell the muffins. In fact my mouth waters at the thought of those muffins and scones. I’ll pay $ 4 for just a single one of those muffins. A fantastic stay in a restored historic mansion in the Christmas City. Don’t miss it. Before you book another stay elsewhere… experience the muffins.
