Beautiful setting –comparable to Mt. Washington(without the view) and charming small inn with staff anxious to please. We had drinks in the bar area adjacent to the dining room before dinner and enjoyed a dinner comparable to best restaurants in Boston but at a considerable discount. The grilled Caesar salad is special as well as the sinful desserts. Entrees range from fresh fish to beef and the meal ran less than $ 130 with a bottle of wine. We will definitely return

We came here for Valentine’s night dinner. We had made reservations for 5:15, but it didn’t seem like reservations were necessary — there were many tables open. Food was good but overpriced. Pasta dish was served without a large spoon; filet served without a steak knife. Had to ask for each utensil. Waitress seemed to have trouble reading her handwriting when listing the night’s specials. Service was okay. Perhaps staying at the Inn is more of a treat!

My husband I just came from a stay at The Adair Inn– dinner was fabulous– cozy ambiance with the fireplace and friendly servers– Standout for me at dinner was the mushroom fricassee, one of the must delicious dishes I have ever had(earthy and decadent) — Breakfast is included with your stay– the popovers are incredible(served piping hot with honey butter) — crispy, light and fluffy. Innkeepers Cindy and Tom are friendly and welcoming– will be back for sure!

We had occasion to drive to the Canadian border in Vermont on business and decided to make it a travel adventure by spending the night in an area of NH that we’d never visited before. We chose the Adair inn for our accommodations and a wise choice it was. From the very personal greeting when we arrived to the amazing breakfast before we left in the morning, everything was perfection! I wish we had been there when the restaurant was open for dinner, but the innkeepers were gracious in making a recommendation and we had a wonderful dinner at the Horse and Hound after taking a driving tour of the area’s lovely historic towns and gorgeous scenery. Still thinking about the amazing popovers at breakfast served by Barry the Innkeeper himself, who has the perfect personality to make one feel totally welcome and at home in his Inn.

Our stay at Adair was absolutely wonderful. The inn sits on a stunning property of 200 acres, with great trails. The house is really quaint, the inn keepers are the nicest and most accommodating people you’ll ever meet, and the rooms are beautiful. The food is also amazing here! Who knew that a world class chef was hiding out in NH! The dinner was unbelievable and one of the best meals I’ve ever had, better than many great restaurants I’ve been to in NYC. The breakfasts here are also amazing! The breakfast was 3 courses consisting of the biggest and fluffy popover I’ve ever had, a tasty fruit platter, and then the main course which for the first morning was a baked apple pancake with pork sausage and the best scrambled eggs I’ve ever had, and the second morning an incredible eggs Benedict. My girlfriend and I were looking for an escape from the busy city life of NYC and Adair was the perfect place for this! We can’t wait to come back!

My husband and I just got home from our third stay at Adair… and we’re already looking forward to our next stay. The inn is a quaint colonial style home nestled in an idyllic wooded clearing and is surrounded by immaculately manicured grounds. The inn has an old time-y country flair. It’s the opposite of modern and chic, with its abundance of floral wallpapers and wide plank pine floors. The result is cozy, charming and welcoming. Don’t be nervous if you’re someone like me, who typically likes more modern appointments — it’s like staying with an older relative where you are just so comfortable and at ease that you never want to leave. Everything is spotlessly clean and well-maintained; you are in a very old, historical home and yet you can see the level of care the home has received over the years. Upon entering the inn, you are immediately greeted by a cracking fire in the living room to the right of the entrance. You can sit here for tea from 4 – 5, or relax any time with a book or to play a board game. The rooms are comfortably appointed. This past visit we stayed in the Lafayette suite. It had a queen size bed, gas fireplace with a couch in front of it and a bathroom with a large tub for two. We are very picky bed people and the beds here don’t disappoint. They are made up with fluffy, inviting down comforters and mattress toppers. You feel like you are in a cloud. WiFi is consistent and excellent. My only suggestion for the rooms would be to add a small coffee table or ottoman to put up your feet when hanging out in front of the fire and a mini fridge(possibly tucked away in the closet?) to keep snacks and chill champagne. Otherwise, everything has always been perfect. The food at the restaurant is consistently delicious. Breakfast, which is included with your stay, is a three course breakfast. There is a fruit course, a popover course and then a main which may consist of an egg-based dish or something like apple pancakes. The popovers are heavenly and the innkeeper, Barry(I’ll get to him in a minute!) shared his recipe with me this morning. I cannot wait to try them out at home. We ate there both nights for dinner. We didn’t feel like being adventurous and, honestly, the food is so good and the staff so welcoming we didn’t feel like venturing out into the cold when all we needed was under the same roof. Dinner is moderately priced with options for all tastes and preferences(including a vegan/gluten free basmati rice and roasted veg dish with coconut milk bechemel! YUM!). Wine list is extensive and the cocktails are generous. Ask Barry to make you a «Gretchen» :-) I’ve saved the best for last: Barry and Kim. They are the husband and wife dream team who run this inn. They live on the property and pour their hearts and souls into the place. They make us feel like family and truly make our visits to Adair special. Barry is always around to share funny anecdotes and is very entertaining. If you’re the type of person who likes to stay to him or herself and doesn’t want to socialize I’m sure you’d manage just fine after dropping some anti-social cues, but honestly, step out of your comfort zone and open up a little. Everyone who works at Adair, including the restaurant staff, Donna(who helps run things when Barry and Kim aren’t around) and the housekeeping staff are wonderful. You won’t regret your time with any of these great folks. We can’t wait to plan our next trip.

Just spent a perfect weekend at Adair with my girlfriend. We managed to upgrade to the Kinsman Suite which was pretty all I could ask for in a B&B suite. Especially with the MASSIVE bathtub. The inn is just beautiful and we got to enjoy a tiny bit of gorgeous New Hampshire winter that really got us out of the everyday grind mindset of NYC. Could not have asked for a better way to reset our brains and focus on relaxation for a few days. Kimberly and Barry were very welcoming and helpful. Thanks to them, we decided to do a dog sledding adventure at the nearby Muddy Paws rescue kennel and it was one of the coolest experiences of my lifetime. The nearby Littleton was also really quaint and perfect for some antiquing. I’d recommend Adair and its surroundings for anybody looking to break free of the madness of the city for even a short time. Really does the trick.

My husband and I visited recently and had the most relaxed, wonderful time at the Adair Inn. We were welcomed at the door and treated with warmth and respect the entire time we were there. Everyone working here is happy and it shows in many ways. Attention to detail, care and quality is evident everywhere, I felt cared for on many levels. Service here is relaxed but outstanding. In the restaurant, special needs are considered with the utmost care, we did not need any dietary considerations but I overheard another couple thank the breakfast chef for creating a delicious meal for someone else who I believe said that they were gluten free and vegan… oh and if you are a tea drinker with distaste for coffee, you will be pleased that the water for tea does not taste like coffee in the least. If you decide to stay here then I recommend that you spend as much time as you can right at the inn. There is much to do. The game room is awesome and there are trails all around. I regret that we could not spend more time here. It was wonderful.

This place is truly wonderful. The grounds are spacious and well maintained, the rooms are extremely comfortable, and the food is good. We were in Bethlehem for a wedding and had the entire inn for the wedding party — age range from very young to 90s — and the staff handled it all with charm and skill. The afternoon tea is a very nice touch.

My wife and I went there for dinner with our two year old. We were greeted at the front door by the proprietor who was very friendly. We were placed in the library room probably because we had our daughter with us. But it was not a problem and better for us as well as other guests. The service was very good, and they didn’t mind us interrupting the flow of our courses to take the rambunctious little one out for a 5 min walk around the grounds. It did seem like they were somewhat apprehensive about having a small child around(over the phone beforehand the woman said it’s fine although it’s something of a romantic setting), but they were friendly and apparently willing to tolerate us. I would say though that it’s not really a family style place — better for a date or a cozy place to spend a weekend away with your significant other.

If you’re looking for fine dining, friendly staff, an exquisite location, a bit of history, come to Adair. It’s perfect for special occasions or just a regular indulgence. The finest dining in the area, for sure. It can stand toe to toe with fine and charming restaurants in NY and Connecticut.

My husband and I couldn’t stand just eating«plainer» food while traveling in New Hamshire with his parents last Fall. So I asked his mom if she’d like to eat in a «fancier» place on the Saturday evening of our tour. She said yes after she saw the menu did offer my father-in-law some choices closer to meat-n-potatoes. The restaurant at the Adair County Inn is so beautiful, with a warm, cozy feeling. The staff are extremely friendly and attentive. They invited us to look around. The billiard room downstairs feels like a trip back in time. This was a wonderful place to feel pampered and enjoy more upscale food. Since several months have passed, I can’t recall what the men ordered… I just know that they were very happy. My mother-in-law and I both ordered a chicken dish with an apricot glaze. The only disappointment of the meal was that the chicken was a little bit on the dry side. The flavors were great, though. The Lobster Bisque was melt-in-your-mouth delicious! And the Crème Brulee was scratch-up-every-bit-out-of-the-bowl incredible! Has to be some of the best crème brûlée I’ve ever had. The prices are very reasonable, especially considering the quality of food and service you receive here. Next time my husband and I are back in NH, I’d love to stay here, and we’ll definitely be back!
