The Mane Event

Dodee gas been cutting my hair for 15 years. Even when I lived out of state, I would wait until I was back home to get a haircut. Dodee and Tony are always great to speak with and are excellent at their jobs. Several of my friends have gone to Dodee and Tony for at least as long as I have.

This place is awesome! I’ve been going here for 2 years and I’ve never had a bad haircut here. As a guy with longer hair I’ve had my share of terrible haircuts from those cheapo chains and other salons. But from day one Tony has always done a fantastic job. He listens to exactly what you want and takes his time to get it perfect. True artist. Highly recommend.

I’ve been going to Dodee for at least 10 years and have never had a bad experience. Dodee will give advice but also give the cut you ask for. I’ve never felt bullied or judged — as I have at other salons. Dodee really know hair. You won’t be sorry if you get your hair done here.

I really like this salon and Dodee who was extremely friendly. I’ve been twice, and both times I was able to call and schedule a lunchtime cut for the same day since it’s right down the road from my office in Bethesda.
The salon was empty — mostly b/​c of lunchtime lull in mid-​week, but I didn’t mind because you definitely feel like you have her full attention. I bet she spent 45 to an hour on my cut each time, really taking pride in a well rounded look. I would always get a wash before and a rinse after since I had to go back to work, and I never felt like I was asking for the world.
There is even a website that I believe her son set up for their shop where you can get a great coupon for your first visit. Dodee was amazed that her website worked :)
I’ve found a salon closer to home, but would recommend Mane Event for those in Bethesda looking for a great, family-​run business where you’ll feel welcome from the moment you enter the shop.

I have been going to The Mane Event to have my haircut by Dodee for the past five years and I love it there. She and Tony are very nice, and welcoming, and they really listen to what you want done to your hair. I have a short styled cut and it looks great every time I come out of the shop. It is always a pleasant atmosphere. They have the best salon I have ever been to.

I love this place – great haircuts. Extremely trustworthy for a great, solid haircut. I have long hair and Tony does a great job with it, really gives my cut some shape. They really listen and will not lop off 6 inches when you say you just want a trim. It is not the fanciest place but it is extremely pleasant and they do a great job, so whats not to like?
