Dear Mirch Masala, I would like to offer you some unsolicited feedback. I eat at the Westfield Montgomery Mall five days per week. Every day your kiosk has zero customers in front of it, and every day the chicken teriyaki place next to you has a long line. I eat at the teriyaki place most days, but eating the same thing every day gets boring, and sometimes I switch it up and eat at your establishment. Your food is just as good, if not better, than the teriyaki place. Your price is roughly equivalent(about two dollars more for a meal, which is not too bad). The big difference is in portion sizes. The teriyaki place gives you a big heaping helping of chicken on top of rice and veggies. In contrast, when I order the Combo #1 butter chicken at Mirch Masala, I get a small ladle of chicken cubes, with lots of sauce. Sometimes the server fills a second ladle and then dumps half of the chicken back into the pot before pouring what’s left onto my plate. I estimate that you serve about 1⁄3 or ¼ as much chicken as the teriyaki place does, and you charge more than they do. Your rice tastes better than their rice; your sauce is better than their sauce; your vegetable is better than their vegetable; and you throw in a piece of naan bread, which is nice… but ultimately I always feel like I’ve gotten less than my money’s worth because I know that I could have gone next door and gotten so much more protein than I got with you. I hate finishing my meal and feeling less than full, but that’s the sensation I get when I eat your Combo #1. The teriyaki place obviously figured out how to make the economics of serving plenty of chicken work. If you want to be competitive with them, and not be the next kiosk to close in an increasingly empty food court, I suggest you follow their example.

Love this place. Samosa chat is the one we usually order. The combos are good too like chicken curry combo. It comes with a side, rice and 2 pieces of naan. Mango lassi is also recommended.

I came here with my Indian boyfriend and we were initially suspicious of the quality since it was in a food court. However, we were pleasantly surprised and found the food very close to Indian food from home(we’re Malaysians) and absolutely loved it. Get the butter chicken combo with a side of tandoori. You won’t regret it.

First time trying Mirch Masala and was worried it would be generic«quick stop» flavor, but I was wrong. Had the Curry Lamb Combo with chick peas and rice and naan. It was delicious! Tastes fresh, hot, and the perfect degree of spiciness. Definitely my choice for my next visit to Westfield.

We’ve eaten here a few times and its ok. Staff is nice and its great to finally have an Indian option at the Montgomery Mall. Chickpeas are great. Butter Chicken is good and the lamb curry was ok. The chicken kebob was way overcooked. I’d expect that later in the day but we were probably the first customers of the day. Saag was also sub-standard…generally a tough dish to mess up. We’d probably eat here again if we happen to be in the mall but would stick with the dishes we liked better.

I tried a sample of pretty much everything, quite a step up for mall food. Really liked the the buttery chicken, and the potato and cauliflower. Very excited I have more options now!

Review on Mango lassi only. Mirch Masala is located near Macy’s, next to starbucks on the 2nd floor. I love visiting Sephora, which is also located very close by, so I am delighted to find this drink spot. Do you like mango lassi? Do you like cheap yet delicious fruit smoothies for less than $ 4? Then Mirch Masala is the best place inside the mall. For around $ 2.50($ 2.25+tax), you can get some really decent mango lassi here. I am sorry, did I say it was $ 2.25? You gotta be kidding me. I just paid like $ 5 or something for a taro bubble tea, which is probably made with taro powder. Smoothie(or any drink) prices have gone up like crazy these days, and you can’t possibly imagine to purchase anything for under $ 3-$ 4. Again, I wouldn’t say that Mirch Masala’s mango lassi is the best mango lassi I’ve ever had in my life, however, for the price, I was really impressed and totally loved it. Deliciously sweet, refreshing, and yummy. Seriously, go get it when you are in the mall.

On our way to movies, me and a friend decided to grab a bite her. The server and cashier were friendly and adjusted the spice level according to our need. We ordered samosa chat n chole bhature out of which bhature were half cooked n rubbery, chole were meh but samosa chat was good. I would probably never go there again just because the overall experience was disappointing

Excellent samosas, as before. The trick for a good samosa is that it should not be big, the crust should be flaky, and the stuffing nicely spiced. Not hugh and soggy fried dough filled with almost plain mashed potatoes. The accompanying coriander mint chutney is also nicely seasoned.

I was in the Montgomery mall for a movie with a friend, and we decided to grab a bite to eat from Mirch Masala on a whim. The lady at the counter was nice and friendly, and accommodated our requests for customization. The samosa chaat was probably the one item that was well prepared and tasted pretty good. However, the chole bhature was not cooked properly and thoroughly failed to impress. Overall, had a «meh» experience so not sure if i want to go back.

Best samosas, eaten hot n fresh, definitely not a heat n eat place like many other places, everything cooked from scratch, and the samosas tasted right from the late night treats from the streets of delhi we used to hav often. after finishing 2 samosas, we went back to get more. Here everything tasted fresh n nice, I would recommend this place to anyone who has wanted desi khana but fooled previously by other places. highly recommend mirch masala to one n all, go try it n u will know what u were missing so far.

Indian place in the infamous montgomery mall food court. Looks deceiving, but very yummy! Staff was nice and told me about different things they had on the menu. I ordered the butter chicken combo that came with a side of vegetables and a naan. I didn’t like the vegetables but the butter chicken naan and rice were awesome! Staff was nice, I’ll be back without a combo just the chicken and rice!

Love the butter chicken and mixed veggies. However the prices are far too high(considering the portions especially). Otherwise, very delicious.

I came here for lunch. I must say that Montgomery Mall is stepping up their game in terms of food choices. The guys who helped me were friendly and offered me samples since this was my first time there. I ended up getting the buttered chicken(yummy) and it came with rice, a veggie, and naan. It was worth the price. wasnt too expensive. I will def. go back.

The food is disgusting. We went there other day and the food just tasted like very old. It is nothing like an Indian food. My advice to the owner is to work on food quality. It lacks flavor and taste. Also, the price is high for the quality.

This is a great place, hard to believe it’s mall food. The butter chicken is so tender you can cut it with a plastic fork. LOVE!

The service here was great! They were really nice and handled my indecisiveness very well. Lol I really appreciated the options they gave me. I got the veggie combo. It was VERY filling and nicely seasoned. If you are in the food court and you want to get some food that isn’t highly processed and different than your other options I would suggest that you give this place a try.

Twice, I have been eyeing this place within the past week. Finally, I gave in and ordered the butter chicken combo with an order of samosa. This place was yum. The butter chicken gravy was good but the chicken breast pieces were a bit dry. I counted my chicken pieces and I was blessed with 7 pieces. It was also nice they served some butter chicken gravy over the rice as well. I picked the channa masala as the side and dished that over my samosa and made it into a little samosa chaat. That was amazing! The combo also came with a full size naan, which was soft and yum. I think it would have been great if there was some butter or ghee brushed on top. My beau had the paneer butter masala with the vegetable korma/curry dish. The paneer dish was great, although it was not grilled like it was described on their menu. The downfall of this vegetarian combo was the vegetable side dish. It was too runny. It was obvious that they used frozen vegetables for that dish but a little bit of seasoning would have made that dish delicious. My only compliant would be the rice, it was so-so. Overall, I’m happy this Indian joint in the mall serves up good food for a reasonable price.

One to no star for service. Despite the piece of plastic bag I found in my butter chicken last time, I went back today to get the large butter chicken meal. After paying, found a seat, and saw that I only had 5 measly pieces of chicken. I went back asking if this was the large meal. «Yes it is the large» «The large comes with only 5 pieces?» «I gave you two scoops, small only comes with one scoop» «So if the large meal comes with 5 pieces… small comes with…3?» «No. Small comes with 5 and large comes with 7−8» «…ok??? I have 5.» «Next time you better tell us before you start eating.» I just got my meal and it shouldn’t be hard to remember because I was the only customer.
