Molten Java has been a staple in my life ever since I was in middle school and it was located at what is now half of Relay Bookhouse. I make a point of visiting every time I’m in town. I’m pretty sure their pumpkin spice lattes have actual pumpkin in them(!!). The Turkish Latte is my go-to drink, and the veggie chili never disappoints. The staff has always been super friendly in my personal experience. Plus it’s fun to browse all the cool trinkets and art that they have lining the walls.

Really cool vibe here, lots of people playing music. I don’t think an older crowd might enjoy the coffee shop, definitely targeted towards the teen crowd. Lots of art on the walls. Staff is nice, drinks are good. Good atmosphere.

Fine coffee and atmosphere, but the woman at the counter was beyond RUDE! She spoke to my mother like she was a 3 year old, nobody needs that when they’re just trying to grab a chill cup of coffee.

Nice big coffee shop with multiple floors. Good variety of items especially if you’re vegetarian. I cut out earlier than I wanted. Someone had a Trojan on their computer and it kept trying to infect mine over the network when I tried to access Facebook. Thankfully my free version of avast caught it. Some weird Javascript tried to download. I’d go back again

Wendy and the crew are simply the best. You’ll never have a bad cuppa joe there. I’ve traveled all over the country and you’d be hard pressed to find better coffee. It’s hands down my favorite coffee house.

What a wonderful selection of coffees to choose fronm. Staff over all is not warm and fuzzy but polite and professional they do know their coffees. Place has a bit of a hippie feel and board games, so bring a friend.

Molten is one of the strangest places that I have ever encountered. The decorum is fun and very stereotypical coffee shopesque. The staff are incredibly friendly, each with their own great personalities. The coffee is probably the best in Bethel. O’neils makes an okay cup of coffee, but Molten’s is still better. The regulars can get a little inappropriate and unruly at times but it’s a hipstery coffee shops with dyed haired baristas so what do you expect? The food is good. A lot of beans, burritos, and chili. This is establishment is most certainly keeping Bethel… Regular. It’s a wonder how the bathroom doesn’t smell like a Mexico City porter potty. The upstairs is nice and quiet, but due to the awful and rude 13 year old bmx kids, it gets closed early. I would recommend Molten. The coffee is good, the atmosphere is charming, and the staff are incredibly friendly.

I adore this café from its charming staff, to the quirky painted tables, to the odd selection of knick knacks for sale, to the board games for the borrowing, to the delicious cookies & pastries, to the fantastic coffee, to the wonderful array of teas! :) It’s an excellent place to plug in to study or catch some live music-which, from what I can tell, occurs quite frequently. Don’t miss picking up a frequent beverage card to earn yourself a freebie!(The only thing missing is the option of veggie cream cheese for their fabulous bagels!)

Cutest little coffee shop around! Right on Greenwood avenue with a large parking lot for easy access. They make delicious drinks, cookies, snacks, breakfast! Check them out!

I have gone to this place for years and continue to enjoy going there. The coffee is always good. I have been addicted to the chocolate muffins they sell for as long as I can remember. I’ve loved those baked goods literally for years… I used to hang after high school and play chess in the old location. Such awesome memories. Now that I’m out of college I find this is a great place to catch up on things on my laptop or hang out with friends. I also enjoy just swinging by to grab a coffee to go though, too. This place better live on forever. It’s one of the few places with a great creative and positive energy around.

I’ll probably leave this as my only update for Molten Java because I feel like I already blew away the positives on this place. I ended up stopping in both Saturday and Sunday this past weekend just because I was totally in the mood for amazing coffee. Both days the coffee was phenomenal, but Sunday especially made me feel right at home. I walked in, said hi to the barista, and she already started making my coffee, double checking with me to make sure that’s what I wanted before I even bothered to ask. I loved it. I guess now I’m considered a regular, which I dig entirely :). As long as I live in the Danbury area, I’ll continue coming here for coffee weekly.

Ive been here three times over the past 6 months. Overall, okay place to grab a snack and. a quick drink. I LOVE that they are working to showcase artists and. local vendors but other than that, I’m not thrilled. My biggest issue is the coffee. If you are coming to support a local establishment or the atmosphere, then you fine. Expect a quality cup of coffee and you will sorely disappointed. After all the hype about their«molton java beans» and«calico roast», I thought I was going to be wow’d. Each time, the coffe tasted burnt. Not sure if calico is the best option. They seem to be better suited for the frozen drinks and teas. Overall, an okay experience. Staff were kind. Confusing/overwhelming to figure out what to get — there were menus everywhere. Cookies were overcooked, as well. Loved the granola bars they sold(from Daily Fare, never heard of them before but they were good)

This is exactly the kind of funky, friendly coffee house in a meandering old Victorian house that you want to find in a pretty little town but so seldom do! It’s a gem. Keep it up guys! Here’s to many summer hours wiled away on your shady porch with perfect espresso…

Molten Java was the place I spent almost all of my free time during my high school years. It was the place to be back in 2006, and after a recent trip home I’m happy to see that not much has changed, well, besides the location! I like the wide selection of teas and the coffee that never has a burnt taste to it. Seriously, this might be one of the few places that I have never felt like I’ve drank a burnt coffee from. The little sections of novelty items never fail to attract me attention. Even years later I find that my room still has some of the things I’ve purchased in the past proudly displayed on it’s walls. Molten Java provides more than a good cup of coffee, it provides a sense of community.

We go every week to pick up a pound of coffee(roasted at Molten Java). Great choices and a wide variety that I haven’t found anywhere outside of NYC(specifically Porto Rico on Bleecker St). Most times we get Tanzania Peaberry or something from Peru. A couple of really unique drinks from the bar are the Turkish American(espresso, water, some sort of sweet syrup, and some exotic spices) and the Dirty Joe(a regular coffee with caramel syrup) which I like because they are not milk based. Cozy atmosphere and good location.

I used to stop into Molten Java at the old locale and this is the first that I’ve been in since the move. I love the new location and the amount of space that it has. The atmosphere feels about the same. I loved the old location much better, although, I understand the need to grow and expand. I definitely could take my laptop and get some work done here thanks to the general quiet and free wifi. There are a few different little books, wrist cuffs, and things for sale right by the register. With my love of the British royals, I had to pick up a Queen Elizabeth II cuff. Molten Java has always made a point of supporting local artists and goods. They still do open mic nights and I even saw a flyer for poetry workshops. I ordered a Hot Smocoa, which contains marshmallow fluff, and was fantastic. Although, I did have a hard time figuring out what I wanted, not just because I’m indecisive, but because the different chalkboards and signs all over the place made trying to figure out what you would like to order rather difficult. One central area and easier handwriting for the chalkboards would help diffuse confusion. I’m also concerned about the lack of space that there seems to be behind the counter. I was going to order something to eat, but nothing that was on the menu seemed to fit with what I was drinking. An overhaul of the menu, especially for the afternoon into evening, would be a good idea as well.
