The raisin bread toast is amazing. The home fries are also great. It’s a classic diner kind of place. Perfect for breakfast.

This place had a great haddock sandwich that was reasonably priced. Very down to earth place, with good service. Amazing location. Just check out the wilderness close by. The dessert choice looked incredible, with options like peanut butter frosting.

Great pizza! Very tasty, cooked to the right point with plenty of toppings and a crispy crust. We ordered take out(some menus say they deliver, but when you call they say they do not). It was ready in a short amount of time with an easy in and out pick up of our order. I’d recommend and come again.

I am not a diner person… I’m at total foodie at that. That being said, I highly recommend this place. The staff is so friendly and accommodating. The food was exactly how we ordered and absolutely delicious. The kitchen is clean and organized. The cook is fantastic!!! We ski here every weekend and will definitely make this place our regular breakfast spot.

This place was great! It wasn’t over the top delicious or anything, but it’s a cute little place with reasonable prices and a great atmosphere. I’d stop by again if I were in the areas!

Showed up on a summer day for lunch. Was extremely hot inside the building and busy with groups of college kids. Waited forever for a table. Waited forever for a waitress. Nothing. So walked out. Maybe will try again when not so busy

I am a diner fanatic. I’m also a big believer in «to each their own» so i don’t review places often. I judge most diners I visit by their eggs Benedict I think you can tell a lot about a place by tasting their sauces. This place was exactly what I needed! Plenty of room. Sweet, friendly staff. Sensational eggs bene and most important, their home fries. Simple, tasty, heaven. If I HAVE to travel this way again, I will stop here for breakfast, without a doubt.

Stopped here before hiking. My wife had eggs benedict and she liked it. I had scrambled eggs and french toast. Both were a bit moist but still good. The hash browns were terrific. Service was quick and friendly. Will come back.

I went here for breakfast with my husband and 2 kids. There is no hostess, not sure if you are supposed to seat yourself. I asked a waitress and she didn’t know either! Finally a man came and pointed to a seat for us. The waitress was nice. It took 40 min to receive 2 eggs over easy(I asked for sunny side up) with home fries, 1 stack of French toast and a 3 egg omelette and an as is plain bagel. I asked for whole wheat toast when I ordered, I received it 10 min after I ate. I asked for ketchup when I received my order, I never received it. The bagel tasted awful and sour… how? The French toast didn’t taste as it should, maybe because there was no cinnamon. It took at least an hour for this experience to end between trying to get seated and paying the bill.

Classic roadhouse style diner. Simple American dishes served fast. Big hot entrees and huge juicy burgers. Staff was super friendly. The menu is rather limited but this isn’t «cuisine», it’s fill-your-belly-and-get-back-on-the-road-style dining. Loved my BIG A** Burger! Best leave your pretentiousness at the door. Its all gluten, all meat, all greasy, all the time.

Here’s the thing. Crossroads serves very basic dishes; breakfast foods and burgers, etc. If you can keep your expectations in check you can have a fine meal here. My husband had a burger that he said was quite good along with fries that could have used a couple of more minutes in the fryer. I had a salad which was priced a little high for the quality of ingredients, but overall just fine. Our waitress was friendly and prompt. I’m sure there are better places in the area, but if you want a quick bite and aren’t looking to be wowed, this could be an OK choice.

The service was nice although she forgot one coffee. They make their own bread which was good. The frittata was over priced for slightly overcooked dry eggs with a small sprinkling of broccoli, ham and cheese. The long road had good eggs and French toast that was only so-so but not worth the price. The oj was fresh and tasty. The coffee fair.

I don’t know how this place is open. Should’ve read the reviews and should’ve gotten up and left after it took 25 minutes to get HALF of our tables drinks(they forgot the other half). Incompetent employees, mass confusion across the wait staff at all times, rude, and horrible food. Two members of our party walked out about 30 mins into the meal – they were the smart ones. All four of our cars were in the Burger King drive thru down the road immediately after because the food was inedible. No matter how hungover, tired, or lazy you’re feeling from a long weekend up at the River, do yourself a favor and keep driving!

Came here with a group of people at 12 but they stopped serving breakfast at 1130. The food was really bad. Meatloaf was gross. Fries were really soggy. Buffalo chicken salad was just a lot of lettuce, shredded cheese, and 2 chicken cutlets plopped on top. I got chicken pot pie and it was the worst chicken pot pie I’ve ever had. It didn’t come in a pie or come with a crust: just the filling with a biscuit on the side.

I can’t believe there are 5 star reviews for this dump. I love diners and was hoping to grab a quick lunch on a weekday at about 1pm. We walked in and no one acknowledged us, looked around at the 3 – 4 dirty tables but opted for 2 seats at the bar. We sat at the last two stools right in front of the grill. We sat there for 15 minutes without a nod; our presence at the bar was invisible to the girl less than one foot away. The manager at the other end of the bar did her best job not to make eye contact. We never a got a menu or even«we’re busy we’ll be right there». Finally I got pissed off enough to get up and leave, still without a glance from anyone. How a shithole like this stays in business is beyond me. I drove 5 minutes down the road to the Brewing company and had a great lunch with people who were glad to take my money. I wish I could review the food but I never got to try it, however, the leftover spaghetti at the dirty table behind me looked like Chef-Boy –Ardee.

This was a pleasant place to stop for lunch on a rainy day. We wanted hot soup, and the Crossroads had a chicken barley that hit the spot. Service was fast and cheerful. The grilled cheese I ordered was perfect, grilled slowly in butter, so the cheese was melty-licious and the bread not burnt. Prices were very good.

This was one of the worst experiences I’ve had at a restaurant. We got there on a Sunday at 11:35, the place was packed, but we had no reason to think it would take 1 hour 50 minutes to get food. Even though they stopped serving breakfast at 11:30a, we were still able to order it. But this meant that burgers, chicken, steak, etc were off limits, because eggs and can’t cook alongside these meats. Yet steak & eggs are available on the breakfast menu. The waitress said she«didn’t know another way to explain it» to me. After 50 minutes of waiting for food, I asked the waitress when it would be out. She threw up her hands, said«who knows» and for the 3rd time snapped at us that she had been here since 4:30am without a break. She then pointed to the 2 grills, saying how small they were and it just always takes this long. A fact she might have mentioned BEFORE we ordered and began waiting for over an hour. After the first hour passed, I asked what looked like a manager how long it would be until we got our food. He looked at me like I just insulted his wife, and then just says«I don’t know.» Now I’m mad. I tell him I understand they are busy, we have been waiting(along with most the other tables) for over an hour and I need some ETA on the food. Apparently we were next and 15 minutes later we had food. Some orders were wrong and the food was kind of gross. But clearly you just got what you got. Do yourself a favor and eat somewhere else. Yes, options are limited. But there is a Dunkin Donuts and a Subway in neighboring gas stations and I promise the experience will be much more pleasant. Nevermind the fact that you won’t have wasted 2 hours of your life at the Crossroads Diner.

Perhaps the best diner breakfast I have in years. I ordered a homemade corn beef hash and swiss omelet, homefries, with the home made rasin toast slathered with copious amounts a real butter. Add in a tumbler of coffee and I was put were I needed to be put for the rest of the morning. For the folks with the negative reviews… come on… it’s a diner in Bethel Maine… not the Capital Grill. Great home made food at a great price. You cannot beat it.

Stopped by for lunch yesterday and was totally impressed. Typical Diner look and feel. Solid menu, reasonable pricing, and kid friendly. Service was a little slow, but they were pretty busy. Waitress was super friendly. Will definitely stop here again on our regular trips on Route 2.

I was in the mood for a greasy Maine breakfast. SCORE!!! We sat at the bar. The chef does handle food with his bare hands, however, I also saw him washing his hands and another cook also washed his hands before he started helping the chef cook. Something I loved about this place: Neither my husband nor I looked at a menu. We didn’t have to. We knew what we wanted and we ordered it, got it, and ate it. There was no, «Oh, you can’t have this with that, it’s extra.» It was, «ok, got it.» I had a cheese omelet with hash browns. My husband had two eggs(cooked right) and home fries with toast. The bread was home made and very good! The hash brown was cooked to perfection. My mouth is actually watering right now just thinking about it. The omelet was pretty good too. Overall, it was a great meal. The place was quite busy and the waitstaff was very diner-esque(ie: down to business, to the point, no bs). I loved it. Great food, great environment. The chef even talked to me a few times while he was cooking. I may have told him that I wanted to marry him… oops. :-)
