We have been using Lynn at LSA Design since 1992. Recently she re-​designed our front and back yard. We always receive positive comments from the neighbors as well as friends and family. We really appreciate her expertise of design and knowledge of plants. We Highly recommend Lynn and love that we are also supporting a local business.

Lyn Spessard and her employees have been taking care of my landscaping needs for over 5 years, and I’m very happy with their work. Several times I’ve asked for extra clean up or repair work in my yard in preparation for an outdoor party, and they have been very responsive to my needs. We get compliments all the time on our beautiful yard, and I give Lyn, Tim & their team a lot of the credit. Thank you LSA!

I would give them NO stars if I could! These people have no idea what they are doing. I paid Lyn over $ 12,000 to landscape my yard and it was awful! This email I sent to her sums it up (FYI I shorted their final check by $ 500 and this is in response to her sending me an invoice for the $ 500).

In my opinion, I have way overpaid you, here’s why:
1). I could’ve saved at least $ 500 on the grass because it was on sale in February. I sent you an email letting you know and you had 2 weeks to purchase it but didn’t. I could’ve purchased it myself if I knew you were going to pass up the sale. All you had to do was let me know but you said you would look into it. There’s not much to look into, you knew exactly which one I wanted. That is why my check is short $ 500.
2). I’ve had 2 fencing companies come out here for bids on my privacy fence around my equipment. They both thought I wanted the fence you just put up replaced because it looked so bad! (I didn’t even say anything, they brought it up). Not to mention all the warped boards, big gaps in the boards that are going to get bigger, nails sticking out still, boards not all the way attached and the board where the gate latch is cracked and Tim said that’s perfectly normal and fine. ?? I was also not told you were going to use cedar. I thought you would match my existing redwood fences, which only makes sense but of course was not done. I now have my own contractor (who came by today for something else and again mentioned how bad the fence looked). This is a lot of professionals saying the same thing. Poor, shoddy work period. So now my contractor has to come out here to fix everything that you guys have screwed up. So basically, I should be billing you once everything is fixed as much as it can be.
3). It took you 8 weeks (!) to landscape my yard! That is ridiculous and unacceptable. The interior of my house (minus the kitchen) was remodeled in 2 weeks and was way more work. This makes no sense at all. Then when I was promised that Tim would come back and finish in a day (instead of working 1 or 2 hours here and there), that still didn’t happen and I have texts from him to prove it. He again came back for a couple hours and then left again with the job not completed.
4). I was basically the foreman on this job because you weren’t overseeing anything. I had to point some of the same issues out to you and Tim 3 – 5 times before anything would be done and most of the time it would never get done. I shouldn’t have to check everything, you need some quality assurance built in to your work. I didn’t get paid or get a discount to run this job for you.
5). I can barely talk about the grass. It wasn’t stretched properly and is already buckling, huge strips weren’t nailed down and you told me gravity would take its course? Was it going to magically attach itself to the gravel? I didn’t want you guys to do the grass because I could see your quality of work was poor but since you wouldn’t refund my $ 3,500 overpayment (which you had not used up in labor or materials yet), I had no choice but to use you or take you to small claims court and spend months trying to get my money back with a yard full of gravel. If I was a wealthy person, I would’ve just ate the $ 3,500 and fired you, but I simply don’t have that kind of money to throw away.
6). I have been working on my house for 6 years and have hired many contractors. I have never had an experience like this before. No communication, poor quality work (the worst part is you won’t admit that the quality is bad even though everyone else can see it), working an hour or two here and there instead of just getting the job done, no one overseeing the job/​work, the list goes on and on.
As far as I’m concerned, you owe me all the money back for the subpar labor you provided. I’d like for it to be fixed but since you’ve proved that you’re incapable of doing the work correctly, it wouldn’t be reasonable to expect you to be able to fix it. I will now have to hire a new landscaper to come do all the fixes. I’m willing to settle this for $ 6,000, minus the $ 500 I didn’t pay you. Please send your payment of $ 5,500 at your earliest convenience.

We hired Keri from L Spessard to take out the broken white plastic joint spacers around our pool and patio and replace with mastic. She did a beautiful job. The mastic is clean, even, smooth, and gives our pool and yard an updated appearance. It’s not cheap and needs to be replaced about every five years, but that’s part of pool maintenance. Keri left a clean yard. I left a check, she left a receipt. Perfect! She asks that no dogs be in the yard, which is totally reasonable. You don’t have to be home for the quote or the work, she just needs access to the area. I highly recommend!!!
