Wish I could give this a higher ranking. Some of the pizzas here are excellent, some are not very good at all. Seems to be who is making them. Have had other pizza at Grand Apizza in North Haven and it is very good.

I tried these guys today, someone at my husband’s job said they were really good… The pizza was ok… The wings I especially loved… I will go back again and try a different kind of pizza. We ordered just regular cheese. But the guts were super welcoming… Very friendly staff., loved the vibe.,.

This pizza is really really good. It’s a little thicker than brick oven new haven pizza but the crust is crispy and the sauce is the best around. Their hot subs are good, too.

Great pizza!!! I love the pesto pizza but get it without the mozzarella… excellent! My spouse had the linguine with broccoli and alfredo sauce… very good! Linguine cooked perfectly and a nice coating of sauce.

The pizza here is perfectly fine – not great, by New Haven standards — I can think of 5 or 6 places with dramatically better pies, but good enough that on a night when you just need delivery it will do. The hours on their website, however, are wrong. Since they are one of the only places to deliver in Woodbridge, that means that if you trust their website, you can find yourself out of luck. I have twice been burned by the inaccurate website(the first time I mentioned it to them, but then forgot about the problem until, a year later, I had the same thing happen and my housemate reminded me). A website is easy to fix and I will not be attempting to order from here in the future. I will go with the other delivery place, who respects their clients enough to post accurate information.

Once again, I wish I could give 3 ½ stars. Our family is split on Grand. I think it is perfectly fine. Not Modern, but what is? The crust is chewy, which I like. But my family thinks it is tough. Oh well, you can’t please veryone.

Pizza is more than just decent-it could potentially compete with Modern or some of the other New Haven hotspots, but the quality of the rest of the menu really depends on who is making it. If you catch them on the right day, the chicken parm grinder could be ranked up there with the best of them, but if you don’t and you get one of the weekday cooks, it isn’t worth the usual 45 – 60 minute wait time for the delivery. Up here we can’t be too picky because we have all of two or three potential delivery options, but overall it’s usually a decent meal. Salads are a great option here — greens are always fresh.

I’ve been to this place several times. The pizza is excellent. It is by far the best around this area. They also have a great selection if you need a slice. The problem i have with this place is they have no idea how to make a grinder. Make no mistake the italian combo is a tasty sandwich here. However cutting the bread in a «V cut» is ludicrous. They put the meat in this flying V which is more appropriate of a guitar used by an 80’s hair metal band guitarist then it is fit for a sandwich. A proper Italian combo should be cut in half. The vinegar should be liberally spread on the bread so it soaks in. Then the meat is layed over that. After that you top it with cheese. Lay the lettuce and tomato on teh cheese. If you wish, and i do sprinkle a little more vinegar on the top pice of bread and lay it on the sandwich. This makes the bread inside moist with liquid and an easy to eat sandwich. The Grand apizza grinder however, uses this V cut bread, squeezes the meat in that. They then lay lettuce and tomato on top of that. That is followed salt, pepper and vinegar. What does that get you? Well a delicious sandwich, not as delicious as the one above but good nonetheless. It also gives you a big mess. When you pick up the sandwixh all the veggies fall out. The vinegar drips all over. This is easily solved by putting it directly on the bread. A good grinder you should get the tast of everything on it in every bite. This way you get bread, cheese and meat and veggies all over the plate. Please Grand Apizza take my advice on this. If you need helpo contact me and I’ll be more than happy to teach grinder making 101 to you and your employees. Besides your Don Dokken grinder, your place is pretty good.

A big THANK you to the owners for bringing outstanding delivery pizza to the Bethany-Woodbridge area. We ordered delivery pizza last night, and while the wait was a bit long — it was raining very hard and they are a new business, so I give them a pass on wait time. The pizza itself was fabulous. It was astonishingly hot for having been delivered, and the sauce they use is some of the most flavorful I have had on pizza. This place can go right up there with the best of New Haven. Crust is thin with a nice char and chew. Toppings are clearly prepared with care — the sausage has to be local, it was so good! We also had the four cheese, and the escarole and bean pizza(on which I might want a touch more garlic) — the YUM factor at our house was very high last night. Be warned though — the size of a medium pizza here is like the competing delivery place’s large. Which makes it a pretty good bargain as well!
