A very friendly diner with great Americana diner type food. We had the Angus burger, fresh and well grilled. Not from frozen. The renovated building is clean and new with ample seating. Parking may be tight on a busy day but worth the walk. Definitely a new favorite for our family.

Good, cheap, family dining with large portions. Usually come for breakfast and get a omelet. They usually have a ton of toppings inside them unlike some local places where u order a bacon omelet and it has a few tiny pieces inside.

Spinach salad with chicken was delicious. Nice combination of ingredients, hard cooked egg, tomatoes, shredded cheddar, fresh mushrooms, and so much chicken it had to be two sliced breasts. My friend had the Greek salad and was equally pleased. Service was prompt and all the staff was super friendly. Prices are very reasonable and I’ll go back to try the chicken and dumplings on Wednesdays!

Excellent friendly service and the crab Benedict was awesome! My mom got the creamed chipped beef and said it was like hers. The price was right too! We will definitely be back to try the lunch menu

Building looks pretty tacky but the food was good.

Standard diner, nothing special but worth a go if you want to keep it simple. I came in on a Saturday night and the place was rather busy. A lot of grey hairs running around enjoying their evenings. Place is a good size, bright lights and with a TV over the bar area. Staff is friendly, everyone was welcoming and attentive. One of the owners was working the register and he appeared to be a nice guy. Food was okay, I went with a steak and it was what I expected, no grade A meat but it got the job done and was cooked well. Mashed potatoes were fluffy and feeling and broccoli while a bit under-cooked was tasty. They serve all day breakfast so that is always a bonus. If you’re visiting Bethany or even live there worth a visit when you want something affordable and quick.

This diner is just okay. It’s not great but it’s not the worst diner food I’ve ever had. The servers are very pleasant, not super attentive though. The food is just average. It’s warm not hot, somewhat bland, and a tad dry. The décor is a bit confusing — the lighting and bar face are contemporary, but the rest is outdated and boring. Prices are pretty much on par with all local diners. The grits seemed like instant grits and had ZERO seasoning — never had such tasteless, bland grits before. But grits in the northeast aren’t generally as tasty as in the south, so I guess they can get a pass there. I would say that if you’re starving, you will leave Bethany Diner full, but not altogether satisfied — certainly not impressed or dying to come back.

Well… it’s just your typical diner. We went for breakfast and two of us had the buffet while another ordered eggs benedict(an eggs benedict enthusiast). The benny was apparently bland and a disappointment(more or less expected from a diner). The buffet which included potatoes, fruit, french toast, pancakes, sausage, ham, eggs, scrapple, biscuits, sausage gravy, and more, was not bad at all. Felt lethargic and had a bit of a stomach ache after because like I already said… it’s your typical heavy, greasy diner food. Overall, will probably look for other breakfast options in the area unless I really feel like pigging out.

A great local spot at the Shore, with a great price for all you can eat brunch, including eggs, bacon, garden omelette, French toast, pancakes, biscuits and gravy, and fruit. The wait was only 15 minutes! Great family location

First timers to this new diner. Thought it would be overly crowded and over priced in August but was happily surprised. Husband got the crabcake mac n cheese special and raved about it. Service was perfect. No wait. Will be returning!

Slow service and sub-par food. The breakfast buffet is $ 8.99(eggs, omelet, bacon, scrapple, sausage, biscuits & gravy) and there is no wait. However, no one in our party enjoyed the food much — except for the pancakes.

Came here for breakfast on a busy Sunday morning last weekend. The service was fast and attentive. Our party of 4 was seated quickly, and we were thankful that a table was available, as there were larger parties waiting outside. They had a buffet for $ 8.99 that had eggs, pancakes, French toast, cream chip beef, biscuits, sausage, bacon, and scrapple. Everything I sampled was very good, especially for the price. If you are looking for a quick, cheap breakfast at the beach, I would give this place a try.

Service very good, reasonably priced, large portions, chicken bow tie soup and navy bean soup were really good. Food was good. Dining room full. Coming back tomorrow for breakfast.

Bad. Each time I’ve gone here it’s awful. The home fries are a disgrace and the omelettes are sloppy and never hot when they are served. Most of the waitresses have attitudes when you go there too.

Had a meal here w my family on the way out of town. I had the buffet only when i got up there I wished I hadn’t ordered it. Nobody was really tending to it. It looked tired and it was 10:15am. My daughter, son and husband liked it. So that why I’m giving it a three. My mom and other son ordered off the menu and they had better luck but it was still so so to me. The service was pretty good and fairly fast. They were busy. I wouldn’t run back to eat there again. But maybe on the way out of town. Not sure.

So this was my first time at the Bethany Diner and I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised by how good the food and overall experience was. The server was efficient and checked up on us throughout the meal. The food came out really quickly and everything was properly prepared. They provide huge portions and some of the cheapest prices I’ve seen in the area — and I eat out quite a bit when visiting the beach so that’s saying something. The creamed chipped beef was quite good and the eggs were cooked properly. My girlfriend ordered the hot open-faced turkey special and really enjoyed her meal. The portions were so large that she took about half of it to go and we came in quite hungry after fishing and swimming all morning. I would definitely recommend coming here for breakfast or to grab a quick bite for lunch. Great value, very clean, nice ambience, and tasty food. After ordering two huge meals our bill was $ 20. What a steal! Side note: Some of the reviews I’ve read haven’t been very flattering but my experience was completely contrary to what I’ve seen posted. Just my two cents. I’ll certainly be back.

We’ve been here many times, but probably will not be back– all the times in the past, we’ve come during the off season and the food and the service was good, but my recommendation would be, only come for the buffet during the season. Our server was clearly distracted, the food was fair, and even the hostess, when I went to pay my bill– she asked me how my breakfast was, I told it was only fair, and she said nothing back– so many people just going through the motions. Other places with MUCH better breakfasts: Beach Break Bakrie & Café, Penguin Café, Cottage Café, Kool Bean Café, and a hidden gem, D’Ortone’s.

Well… I am very impressed! I’m not from Delaware in fact much further South … Alabama. In town for a school and decided to try this place out! Myself and 3 friends… Great food good service! Prices are reasonable! I suggest it to anyone looking for a good meal… If you leave hungry, it’s your fault. Thank you for a great experience! There are 2 locations… Haven’t tried both… But the have they same address… Not sure what that’s about

Been here twice had the breakfast buffet one of the times and regular breakfast service another time. Most of the food for the buffet was good, some French toast was a little overdone but hey not everything can be perfect. Overall in both encounters food was good. Nice hometown diner. Great Prices for everything and good food, definitely a key reason why I will go back. Only downside I experienced was the service. Took a long time to order and get our food after we ordered but it looked like they were short staffed. Hope that is not always the case.
