Unbelievably great food! Best Italian food in the Phila metro area! It’s an absolute must if you’re looking for dinner on the mainline!

Frankie Fellinis is another hidden jem in Berwyn. The atmosphere is very casual but don’t be fooled. The food is real Italian and cooked to perfection. I ordered the swordfish special thinking it would be ok but hoping for the best. Wow. It was absolutely delicious. It was not over cooked(as often is the case with swordfish) and it just melted in my mouth. Our party of 6 passed around tastes of their entrees and all were really good. Ended with a freshly made cannoli and espresso. Delicious. We’ll definitely visit this BYOB again.

Frankie is THEE best… the only thing better is his food. Always fresh, always good and it’s just a great neighborhood spot. Bring your own and a fun hang with friends and family. Tell Frankie I said hello!

I love this local BYOB spot for fresh food and community feel. Their salad with meatball is delicious. Ravioli are really good. Cannoli not to miss. There are few seats at the counter, TV and you could always chat with Frankie. It does get real busy and cramped up & loud so if you need more quiet dinner it’s probably not the place.

Absolutely the best Italian food in the area! The service was exceptional and very friendly and the owner is one of the nicest guys around. I brought my team here for our holiday celebration and we couldn’t have had a better meal. The pasta was perfect and my Chicken Parm was awesome! BYOB.

Definitely local’s favorite restaurant. We’ve been here several times and brought our out of town guests here too. All have been wonderful experiences. Try their calamari app it’s great.

Delicious food. You really cannot wrong with anything on the menu. I love the calamari, Cesar salad, gnocchi with gorgonzola, veal, and pretty much every pasta. They are also very accommodating. BYOB. Loud and cramped. Can be hard to get a table, and even with a reservation there can be a wait. As long as you are are not claustrophobic or sensitive to sound, check it out. Just great food.

Great Italian food! Only disappointment was when we went in the summer we were told that they do not do pizza because the ovens heat up the place too much… whatever!!! Anyway, great veal chop parmigiana and my wife’s pasta was delicious. My son had a hangar steak as they did not have pizza for him, but unfortunately the meat was dry and overdone, after he had ordered it medium-rare…he likes it red!!! I would definitely go there again as most of the food was spot-on delicious.

This was my second visit to this great Italian BYOB. Let’s start with the bread. Crunchy good. I could hear my Mom from the heavens telling me to stop making a meal of it since it was that good. My lady and I shared the meatball salad — a traditional grandma salad with a delicious meatball on top. It was different but tasty. My lady had veal with peppers and fresh veggies and loved it. I had the House Specialty Sunday Gravy over spaghetti with a meatball sausage and brogol. It was delicious. For desert we split a Tiramisu. It also was very good. My friends tried a number of things on the menu and also were very pleased. The service rocked. The chef stopped out to make sure we were happy and we applauded his performance. This is the best restaurant in the area as far as those that include a Fellini in the name. The fact it’s a BYOB makes it even better!

A truly authentic Italian restaurant that is BYOB. We went for lunch this past Saturday under unfortunate circumstances for a luncheon after a funeral. It was a very nice intimate setting for a group of about 30 people. There was a set menu including a appetizer, salad, choice of 4 entrees, and dessert. The bruschetta appetizer was fantastic with shaved parmesan and fresh tomatoes. Next up was bread and butter with a house salad. It was a very nice portion of veggies but lacked in the dressing. I was able to ask for more balsamic dressing which was very tasty. For my entrée I went with the rigatoni with red sauce(also had a white sauce pasta, chicken or salmon entrée). All of the entrees looked delicious and tasted wonderful. The red sauce had a fantastic sweet yet savory flavor. They were a little slow with getting the entrees out but it was a big group for a small place and I think they were short staffed hence the help wanted sign out front(never a good sign). The kitchen prep area is open and it was neat to see Frankie himself preparing many of the dishes. For dessert we had a mix of many small tasty desserts from possibly the bakery next door. They ranged from a peach dessert to a chocolate tart and rum cake. They looked better than they tasted but glad I got to sample a lot and my favorite was what seemed to be a deep fried cannoli almost a donut. The restaurant makes their own cannolis and pizzelle ice cream sandwhichs which I would like to try next time.

Wow, what a find! Wasn’t too busy on a Monday night, so noise level wasn’t an issue. Super friendly staff and the food was outstanding. Two of us got the specials for the evening, both were excellent. The other two had dishes from the menu which were equally amazing. All of the sauces were fabulous. Lots of garlic but we like it that way. We will be back for sure!

Frankie’s never lets me down. Frankie does authentic Italian. Always a go to place and every time I go I wonder why we don’t go even more! Personally like that mussels, broccoli robe, and the Pollo Paillard…, plus portions won’t let you down. Thanks for sharing Frankie!

The restaurant is tiny, cramped, and you will sit pretty close to others. I love the intimate, neighborhood joint aspect. The service was great, the food was phenomenal. Wonderful pastas and sauces, delicious appetizers and sides. Definitely some of the best Italian food I’ve ever had. Added to my list of must-eats when in Philly. Whole wheat and gluten free pasta options.

I had a Saturday night reservation. My date and I ate outside. I had the Tagliatelle Alfredo and a side of meatballs. The food was good, but just«good», not«terrific», which it really should have been, considering the price. My date seemed to really like her Eggplant Parmigiana, so that’s something. The service wasn’t terrible, but it was a tad slow and the server seemed a little… short/disinterested? There was a sense that they wanted us out of there so they could bring the next people in. It didn’t help that the seating was a bit cramped. There was nothing overly good or bad about my experience. I just felt that for the price and the hype, I should have gotten more.

I have to agree with the other low-star reviewers… this is not what the people raving say it is. It sounds like another case of the Mainline overrating itself so it can feel like there is actually a viable«food scene» on 30. Much to my sincere dismay, no overrated review can make the food taste better. We live under 3 miles away, so we tried it based on these Unilocalers’ fish tales. I even drank a lot of wine, which normally makes me LOVE the food because I am buzzed… didn’t help. My husband wasn’t as pleased with his spaghetti bolognese, as I was with my eggplant dish(Penne alla Siciliana), but I would still prefer an entrée at Giuseppe’s or La Porta(both in Newtown Sq.) to this. Giuseppe’s or La Porta are definitely decent for the ‘burbs, but we have to go to High Note in S. Philly to get good Italian. I realize this is not the same Fellini as the other Fellini Cafes in Newtown Square and Media, but this place is at least on par with those tastewise(if not a bit inferior) and they aren’t worth a return trip either. Don’t mean to hate on this place, but the reviews really built up expectations for a huge letdown. Would rather the reviews be understated than way overrated, as they are.

Stop reading and go! Frankie’s rocks — really busy/exciting BYOB dining room with counter seating available, too. Reservations help, but the staff is super friendly despite how busy the place can be. The food is excellent — classic Italian dishes with great portions. The orders take a little while, but it was nice to not feel rushed. Also, get a cannoli — don’t argue with me! Do it! We also lucked out last night: it happened to be the restaurant’s 9-year anniversary, so the staff was giving out free champagne and sheet cake to just about everyone — so cool!

This is my absolute favorite italian place around! I’ve been coming here for years and have never been disappointed. Be prepared to wait for a table if you come on the weekend, but it’s worth the wait and so is the tight fit inside!
