I stopped in here for a quick lunch. The menu is well developed. Have tons of options. I was on a light mood so I had the daily special of grilled cheese and soup lobster bisque. The sandwich is filling and the soup is divine. The restaurant is overall clean, has friendly staff and delicious food. Will return when I’m in this small town again. :)

Quirky. Many menu options. Could not accommodate our party of ten at one table. Pulled pork was ok– kind of bland. They undercooked s friends burger. Drinks were strong. Bread was delicious. Cute interior.

We stopped here before going to Burley Oak Brewery. One of the girls went here and raved about their food. They weren’t able to sit our table of 10 at one table so we split up. Our table loved all our food, we got the fried gnocchi and chips and salsa. Both were AMAZE. Fried gnocchi?! Never heard of it before and it was so tasty. I got sparkling raspberry mule as a drink, it was good and strong. As my meal, I got the daily grilled cheese and cream of crab soup. It was both delicious. The cream of crab soup was a little spicy but I loved it. I know our other table had issues with under-cooked burgers, but overall we had a decent experience. The service was a little slow but nothing too major.

We had the seafood burrito. Oh and the tuna taco. Both were delicious. The crab soup was delicious but a little rich. Great service. Check out the artwork.

Place is unique but the food is average at best. Whatever you do, do not order the chicken gyro! The pita is thicker than bread and there are only 2 thinly sliced chicken in the sandwich. It’s rather tasteless. The burger was just bland. Can barely taste the bacon which was supposed to be included. There has to be a better choice in town.

Sub-par food. Especially since we had some expectations bc so many people had recommended. Won’t be returning

A must dine when traveling to or through Berlin, MD. We dined upstairs and the décor and artwork was nice too look at after a long drive. The food was beyond great. Service was awesome as well! I will surely stop by again on my way back from OC this coming summer.

The local beers, seared tuna, and seafood burrito were all excellent. Service was exceptional on a Saturday lunch. Prices are pretty high and bathrooms stalls were annoyingly cramped… but overall it was a great experience. Looked like they had a pretty active entertainment schedule for evening hours. They do live local music downstairs and murder mystery upstairs.

Very cool place! The ambiance is very nice, with the art gallery upstairs. We are here on a Friday night and although they were quite busy, the service and food were fast. There was also live music(they were ok – I wouldn’t go just to hear them). It’s definitely worth checking out.

Do yourself a favor and go check out The Globe if you haven’t already. Great food, atmosphere, and drinks. Seared tuna is always delicious, and we love the summer pasta, the globe sandwich, and fish & chips. No complaints, we just love this place!

Camped at Assateague this past weekend, and decided to stop by Berlin since it was voted coolest small town in 2014. Berlin is a very cute little town filled with lots of antique stores and coffee shops. Not a huge range of restaurants to chose from, but we happened on this one. It did have a very unique ambiance, with an art gallery located upstairs, and events(such as murder mystery dinners) advertised. Children were also spotted with coloring books throughout the restaurant — so definitely nice atmosphere. Service was also good. The reason I only gave 3 stars is because of the crab dip. Crab dip costed around ~8 $ and came in a small coffee mug. I expected great things as I had heard about it previously. However, the only bite that I thought was good was the first — as there is only a small chunk of crab meat located at the top and I ate it on my first bite. The rest of the crab dip just tasted like overly-salted creamy soup with crab flavoring, and left me feeling really thirsty for the rest of the day. Perhaps the other food is better, and maybe I will return to try something else.

We go here whenever we are on the eastern shore. Its mostly sandwiches, but they have a little bit of everything. Their beverage selection is really nice. Lots of local beers and a nice list of cocktails. I had a caesar salad with steak. My wife had the fish tacos, they use Ahi tuna in theirs. We had the smith island cake for dessert. What’s not to like.

This is a really cool artsy spot in Berlin right outside of Ocean city. They mainly serve lunch and dinner but have a mean Sunday brunch. The $ 2 mimosa’s and bloody mary’s can’t be beat! I got the Chesapeake Benedict and while tasty for the size the $ 18 price was a little hefty given that the seafood omelet is only $ 13. My main concern is not much was done to the crab and the english muffin was hard as a rock. The eggs were however cooked perfectly. Also the home fries were covered in old bay and extremely good. The server Tom was friendly, knowledgable and pretty stellar. We sat upstairs and is was really neat there was art all over the place and a local musician playing music through out the restaurant. Overall this was a awesome brunch and I am excited to check in out in the future!

Made a trip to Berlin and decided to give the Globe a try based on the Visitor Center’s recommendation. The atmosphere is fantastic. When we walked in we were greeted by every employee. Sat down and drinks came pretty quick. Ordered our food and it came out after about 20 minutes. It was all hot and well prepared. Our biggest problem was constantly being bombarded by three flies while eating. We spent as much time swatting as we did eating. The waitress was apologetic and really, short of spraying Raid all over our table while we were eating, what could she do at that point? My wife went to the bathroom and found 5 more flying around. While the restaurant seemed clean, the flies gave an appearance that it was not. While the front seemed clean, I can’t help but wonder where all these flies are coming from. We cashed out at $ 79.24 for a family of 5. All said, I’m not sure I would make the trip back here to eat. If I happened to be in Berlin, maybe, at best.

Heavenly. There’s really no other way to describe the friendly service, laid back environment and well-prepared deliciousness that comes from the kitchen. The Globe(and the entire town of Berlin) has a charm all to its own, and defies Maryland’s stereotype of northern hospitality and southern efficiency. The crab dip came in a coffee mug, and was out of this world. The appetizer led to important questions like, «will they miss this mug» and«how appropriate is it to lick a mug in public». I had the cheesesteak, which was touted as award-winning. I wanted to find some flaw in this delectable sandwich, but could find nary a one. I suppose the overflowing nature of the sandwich might make it hard to eat for some, but the generous portion deterred me from filling up on fries. I’m sure the desserts are decadent and phenomenal in their own right, but I need to reserve space in my tummy for a scrumptious meal at nightfall. The Globe is a must stop — we will be back for the live music, as they have an intimate stage for such shows. They almost lost one star for playing Wild Hogs with Tim Allen, but it was muted and the music playing carried the day.

This spot is a hidden gem! Loved it and I thank Unilocal for heading me to The Globe. Inside you will find old black & white movies playing on a huge screen and the walls are adorned with local art work which is for sale. The Globe is an old movie theater made into a restaurant. Our waitress was fantastic and I wish I remembered her name. I ordered the cream of crab soup which is a meal in itself. Very rich and tasty. I also ordered the cheesesteak sandwich which was made with real rib eye and a home made cheese sauce. The home made tortilla chips are delicious!

Underwhelmed! I am not sure why people speak so highly of this place. Went here for lunch, food was ok. Standard burger fare nothing great nothing bad. Decent place in a quaint small town. Looks like an old theatre from the outside.

Unilocal found The Globe for us while we were driving back to Philly from Virginia. We needed a place that was vegetarian and vegan friendly. The Globe provided a good couple of options and was no more than a minute off the highway. We had the deep fried polenta(yum!) with honey mustard, and a set of black bean burger wraps(with dark greens and avocado slices, accompanied by fried tortilla strips). It all tasted quite good! The service was friendly and quick, and the building was quite interesting(it’s a converted old theatre). They hang some art on the walls(local artists, I think), but we were in a hurry to eat and drive, so we didn’t take the time to examine what was on show that day. If it wasn’t off my beaten path, I would certainly return. My only critical comment is that it would be nice to see a wider vegetarian selection(if I was local, I’d probably tire of the wrap after several meals of it, and my vegan companion had no other meal options, since the other vegetarian options are cheese focused, which I personally would be okay with since I’m not vegan… yet), but I was certainly pleased that they accommodated us at all. In a small town, vegetarian food options are a definite happy surprise! Update: they appear to be set up to accommodate live music or present shows on a big screen and stage, and I think there were some notices about such things on the doors, or walls, but I didn’t make a serious effort to confirm that at the time.

I would give them no stars if I could. Their menu offers«Vegetarian black bean soup» but we found ham in it. Chunks of ham. I over ordered and only ate a few bites of it, so we took it home along with the deep fried hash browns and greasy onion rings and half a grilled cheese with oily pesto. I was nauseous for the 3hr trip back to Baltimore and blamed the oil until my husband went to eat the soup the next day and discovered it was far from vegetarian. I hadn’t eaten meat in 22+ years. Do they not realize that dietary choices are to be respected? How can they put ham in something and label it «vegetarian»? Berlin is a cute town. Choose a different café.

I absolutely love this adorable restaurant in the heart of America’s Coolest Small Town. This place is just too adorable — fresh made chips and delicious options to choose from they even have local beers to drink. The hostess, Kay, who sat us was unbelievably knowledgeable about all things Globe and Berlin — what a treat! When you are done eating or while waiting for your food to be served, I would suggest walking upstairs to the gallery — they feature art work from local artists and what better way to support America’s Coolest Small Town then with some local art! And this restaurant was once a theater so you have the option of sitting where the audience once sat and watch one of the black and white movies they are playing or you can dine on the stage — whatever you choose I am sure you will have a wonderful time!
